- In this video I go over what I have done to get the best possible performance from the stock surron brakes. I talk about what I have changed to make them a lot better but still use the main brake system.
Brakes are as important as the speed of a bike and making sure they work correctly and to the best performance possible is key in having a great feeling bike!

Nice upgrades. I have the 250mm Rippin Moto floating front rotor. It's not a huge upgrade in stopping power over the 220mm rotor, but it is more resistant to fade. I had some trouble with squealing so I swapped the H03C (metal) to H03A (organic) in front. The squealing stopped and I found the organic pads give FAR better modulation. I kept the H03C in the rear and so far it's been a great setup on my MX4s. Each pad material has advantages, H03C last longer and they work better in wet conditions and H03A has much better feel at the lever but doesn't work well in the wet. Thanks for the video. Another quality video mate!! I had to make the jump to the TechV4's. I found the Shimano pads wear out too quick. Changing them a few times a year and you're quickly getting up to the price of a new brake system. Plus I found the stock brakes needed constant bleeding. If you do upgrade in the future I would highly recommend the V4's. Ride safe bro!!

I got the shimano pads, stock rotor and calipers. I noticed that there is a portion of the pad that is hovering above/ on top of the rotor, not making contact over the full span of the pads. Did anyone else notice this?
Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it!! Yes i did actually notice myself that there is a slight part of the pads that dont make contact with the rotor. This is due to where the eyelets are placed on the shimano pads, it would have to be a mm or so taller to make full contact with the rotor. However, this has never affected the performance of the pads and they are still a HUGE upgrade compared to stock! 🔋⚡️

I have been looking at the warp 9 linkage but i didn’t think there was an orange one yet?!! If there is i’ll have to get it for sure

Try not too put your fingers on your brake discs braking surface as you could contaminate them. Great video ✌
I was trying my best not to touch where the pads would actually be in use on the outer of the rotors. Easier said than done though. I did go ahead and use some brake disk cleaner straight after installation to help with that though and they have been fine so far!!

Sorry dude I only just saw your reply so it’s been a couple of months since you commented,if ur really that interested I’d love to show u my bike I could maybe post some pics on one of ur socials If that’s possible I’m really not clued up on social media and how it works 🤣but yeh the bikes look very similar and iv got a lot of the exact same cosmetic orange stuff as u and the handle bars iv not changed yet but the deity bars with the orange trim are the ones I decided on ages ago iv just not bought them yet there either not in stock or haven’t got the right colours or rise,what rise are ur bars if u don’t mind me asking?
I forgot to mention iv also got the “EXACT” same break setup as you show in this video without ever watching one of ur videos before it’s weird 😂but I totally agree this setup is night and day compared to the out of box brakes the pads alone are a huge difference and then the lever upgrade makes them feel like a premium set not everyone will agree but in my opinion it’s all u need for stock power surrons and to be honest I don’t find they ware out fast at all but that may be because of my riding style but the stock pads were terrible for brake fade and I found it dangerous cos it happened all of a sudden but not had that problem since the upgrade,Ive got the anodised disc protector on my ride I went for that over the new kick stand at the time but plan on getting the stand in the summer when I’m using the bike more iv taken the front mudguard of mine well I never installed it at all 😂I think they look way better without it but each to there own
Ceramic or kevlar pads will last longer.
