      It’s definitely up there! It depends on budget but the tc1000 is now replaced the tc500 in their line up. I also like the vtb controller it works in the same way!
      Tc1000 keeps oem features and display whereas vtb gives new display - depends on your needs 👍🏻

    Got my Torp controller about 3 weeks ago, running a 67v battery which has to be set at a maximum of 9kw on the controller but its a trail ridding weapon, brilliant bit of kit, just wondering if you've had anything to do with the vonkat rear shock, cheers.

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Год назад

      Sounds good! 9kw should be plenty!
      On this bike and my talaria we both run EXT shocks but Vonkat was definitely a contender that we considered when purchasing. We are both fairly light riders and we know that on testing lots of reviews say that its better for the heavier riders so it put us off. If you are over 70kg it might be good for you though!

    • @ianmachon2455
      @ianmachon2455 Год назад

      so this KW increase , is that peak KW or sustained KW ? Isn't the amount of power limited by the physical thickness of the wiring in the different systems ( battery , controller, motor)
      I wouldn't want to burn out the motor and we all know how lethal plasma fires are@@stingyrogerr

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Год назад +2

      @ianmachon2455 the stock surron motor can take up to 14kw continuous for about 3 minutes non stop before it gets a bit warm and approaches high temp cutoff. ( youd have to be doing 75mph for 2-3 mins straight to hit this ) the torp for example pulls 8.5kw peak, - most brands use the peak figure as it sounds better lol! theres a big difference between peak and continuous, the stock surron pulls 4.8kw peak. You can see it through data logs.
      If you look at my other videos i have multiple bikes, stock power, 60v upgraded to 13.5kw and 72v 14kw. The motors are not an issue although we got water ingress with our stock surron motor so chose to replace it with a QS165 and is much better in terms of temperature thresholds and how cool it stays.
      As offroad, enduro &mx riders we find 12kw to be the sweet spot only bumping up to 14 or so when drag racing or travelling on the roads occasionally. If you come from a standard bike you will think 12kw is insanely fast. Anything over 14kw is a bit pointless personally. I see people pushing ‘17+’ kw online but when riding with these people in real life they are the same speed and sometimes less powerful as our 13kw settings we personally spent time perfecting as they are quoting the ‘peak figure’ they select on their controller but the battery never delivers it. And their display will tell them theyre making 17kw but in reality they are not, its just done to hype up the customer when they look at their displayed power on their eggrider to make them feel like the $1500 controller was worth it over the $800 BAC that will state 12kw and be just as fast 🤣
      Its a fine balance but the torp is a great and very interesting product for those who want to keep their stock battery. Been riding these bikes past 4 years done over 10,000 miles in the past 24 months and never had a fire or any issues on multiple upgraded bikes.

    So is it bad for your stock bike when you cut the wire for the battery? 🔋

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  Год назад +2

      Cutting the green wire to unlock sport mode is fine, this is just part of the wiring harness for the bike and everyone does it.
      When you take the battery apart and you connect 3 extra wires to bypass the safety device is dangerous.
      Thanks for watching 👍🏻

      @trey_dizzle4161 it depends on your budget and if you want to upgrade, i have both surron and talaria. My talaria and surron both maxxed out 20+kw. If i was going to pick a bike today to leave stock it would be ventus bike followed by eride pro ss followed by the talaria mx4 then lastly surron light bee.
      For mods, i would pick the talaria or surron first as the used market means you can pick one up cheaper, then you can also find more parts and upgrades available.
      If you are picking between surron and talaria for mods I’d say go with what you like the look of best as they both become much the same once maxxed out.

      Yeah you can get road legal and non road legal UK versions.
      We just ride on private access roads around our farm land property and our fields in this video which we share with a few other houses, its a large area spanning almost 10sq miles.
      You can ride where you like although better evaluate the area you live, police presence, amount of off-road land available where people aren’t walking that you can disturb. If you live in a city centre I would not bother with one of these as they will be stolen, seized or just become boring as you will have nowhere to explore.

    Has any one tried this controller on the sting r as it brings it up to 11.5kw on stock battery, would like to see speed difference between surron and sting r with this controller

    • @stingyrogerr
      @stingyrogerr  8 месяцев назад +1

      The sting R is considerably heavier and I believe a 9kw surron will be just a touch slower than mx4 at 11.5kw
      The nucular p24f is great on the mx4 and gets you to 11kw also with the bonus of the 2.5” lcd display. Ive raced a bypassed mx4 at 11kw vs tc500 38ah surron and was neck and neck but that extra 500w the torp gives would just edge it although the surron wins for top speed as the mx4 was still only getting to 55 vs 60 on the surron
      These sort of controllers are a great middle ground before upgrading then battery also :) hope this helps
