Loved the reaction! I am an English girl learning Spanish, and I only discovered Juan Gabriel recently too... I am in love! So glad you enjoyed this performance. I am from London, United Kingdom :)
@grandparentsreact His house in Juarez, Mexico is 30 minutes from my house, and I live in El Paso, TX. His house is a proud tourist site in Juarez, Mexico, and is considered like Graceland. You should look it up. It is guarded by the Juarez police, but you can walk around it while his music is being played.
I've never seen an artist command the stage like this guy. He's unique. At one point he tells the people behind the stage to lower the spotlights as if nothing. He has mariachis, a choir and an orchestra yet he's the main focus. Quite impressive
Yes definitely he was our Mexican Elvis !! Except Juan Gabriel actually wrote all of his own songs and also wrote for other people ! He wrote around 1,800 songs in his lifetime . He was and still is amazing and a true legend ❤️❤️❤️🇲🇽
I stumbled on this video and saw Juan Gabriel and had to stop and watch. The man is a legend, he was my mom's idol and I grew up just knowing his songs. I don't know if u have read translations but this song takes u on a journey. He knew only love when growing up, then he met HER and learned suffering but at the ends he's saying good riddance. We love it when he dances, the clip this is taken from is from some of his legendary concerts. He's such a nostalgic artist to me.
It was in 1990, Juan Gabriel is for sure the greatest mexican artist ever, and probably the best in spanish music, he was a genius, wrote more than 1000 songs in different genres, he was a musician, composer, productor, singer and showman.
Fantastic! thanks for your reaction. People loved JG mainly because his personality his humility and of course his art. enjoy the lirycs. im Alex 48 from Quito Ecuador. im sure you will enjoy Jose Jose "El triste" remaster 1970. He was singing as a contestant representing Mexico, and many of the audience members were renown artists of that time. Hugs. I knew no sadness, no tears, no nothing That made me cry I knew of affection, of tenderness Because since I was a little boy that's what mom taught me That's what mom taught me That and many other things I never suffered, I never cried I was very happy, I lived very well I lived so different, something beautiful, something divine Full of happiness I knew of joys, the beauty of life But not of loneliness, but not of loneliness Of that and many things more I never suffered, I never cried I was very happy, I lived very well Until I met you I saw life with pain I'm not lying to you, I was happy Although with very little love And very late I understood That I should not love you Because now I think of you More than yesterday, much more Now I want you to tell me If it was worth it or not To have known you Cause I don't believe you anymore And you were so mean to me Yes, very bad to me That's why I don't love you I never want to see you again Go away, go away, go away Go away, go away from my sorrow Go away, I don't love you I never want to see you again Go away
I wish I was old enough to see his concerts. He nicked named “ The Showman “ this song was written for his mother who didn’t love him. Lots of his songs are due to this unresolved feeling inside of him of being rejected. Best composer , Artist that ever lived.
That was indeed a mariachi. Hasta Que Te Conoci means 'Until I Met You'. He (in the song) talks about not knowing sadness and tears and this and that........until I met you. I'm from Ventura, Ca.
Ahhh yes. Until I Met You. Juan Gabriel was a prolific composer and vocalist. He has a way of touching our hearts and as you can see, won over so many from around the world. The gentlemen in white were indeed a full Mariachi band. Juan Gabriel was singing about finding the wrong kind of love. The song started off talking about his innocence and never knowing pain. He ends the song telling her he doesn't want to see her again. As the song evolves a full weighted orchestra kicks in. The Chorus joins in the last two minutes of the song. A Mariachi band almost always accompanies his performances. In this performance, he used an orchestra to be able to perform at the Institute of fine arts in Mexico City. One cannot ignore this kind of talent and his fan base continues to grow long after his passing. Wherever you may be, you are missed. RIP Juan Gabriel. We love Jesus as well. Happy New Year! Because now I think of you
More than yesterday, much more
Now I want you to tell me
If it was worth it or not
To have known you
Cause I don't believe you anymore
And you were so mean to me
Yes, very bad to me
That's why I don't love you
I never want to see you again
Go away, go away, go away
Go away, go away from my sorrow
