I think that in the beginning of the song is very slow and sad because he is signing about his suffering about the lover who hurt him... the upbeat part of the song is (IMHO) him getting over the lover... he says that he doesn't want to see them anymore... so in a way i think the beat is correct? It's about mistreatment and suffering" because (even though that is true) to me that's kind of an awkward place to leave a conversation.
people are wrong, this song is not for a lover who hurt him, this song was for his mother. When he was a child, his mother left him in a home for children without parents. He suffered a lot although later he was the greatest singer and songwriter in Mexico.

Artes(national institute of fine arts) in Mexico capital, out of respect for the venue and what it represents. Also, all of his proceeds from this concert were donated to national symphony of Mexico. This man was a legend!

Sadly he passed away August 28th, 2016. He was such as amazing musician. Composed and wrote his music. The majority of his concerts were so fluid and the bands followed his lead. NOT HIM following them. 💗💗💗

Great reaction Billy! The song is really about how he was better off before he met a certain person. In this case it’s supposed to be a lover. However Juan Gabriel threw in some feelings of resentment her had for his mother I nto this song. He had a very difficult childhood, his mother couldn’t raise him so she gave him up and he lived at orphanages. Once he became a part of her life again she was very cold and didn’t accept him. Although he loved her with his whole being he also had feelings of resentment which he incorporated into this song. Although his mom was the center of his world, she was the source of a lot of his pain which he found an escape from through music. You should listen to “Querida” also by Juan Gabriel! :)
