    Thanks Mr Daniel for all your valuable help on many aspects. I found this inverter on sale on eBay for for about $600 but it's the 24 volt. But thats what I am looking for anyway. Looking forward to hooking it up with my 24v lifepo4 battery banks.. Hope all is going well with your setup.

    For those that know electronics - meanwell makes a beast of an inverter. No clue why the US RV and TT aftermarket has not figured this out. The rest of the planet knows! I also use their supplies in a lot of other gear. Worth every penny. I have a TS-1500 and it does and will do exactly what it is rated for. Super pleased with it! Good video showing the internals.

      Only fail Mean Well has is too low of a over voltage design. The 12 volt models are claimed as 15 volt but always fault at 14.6 and need to have a 16 volt over voltage ability( 32 volt in 24v models) or ever time you restart a RV with huge alternators or use a wind/solar power charging source they fault during bulk or equalize of batteries. Dozens tested, same sad result.

      You are right. This is the only problem what meanwell has to improve. I use 48v system and when battery voltage goes up to 60 volts then the inverter goes to protection mode (out of service). So that the batteries can not be equalised.

    IS the neutral and ground bonded on this model? I want to hook it up to my house AC panel as a backup for when power goes down and my main panel is already neutral and ground bonded.

    Hi John how do u do . I been watching ur videos on solar inverter meanwell tn 3000.i am impressed by your speech and experience. I would like to install an 3kw solar panel of lg with open circuit voltage of 40v can I use this panel to input meanwell tn3000 with 48v battery bank system.

      +Ibidapo Ilawole It has no issue running up a 9,000 btu air conditioner as long as you have the solar coming in to keep the battery bank loaded. See the battery bank videos to see its mounting.

    Hi, thanks for the informative video. I also have a mean well ts3000 and I am extremely happy with the performance. After watching your video I decided to clean it up but unfortunately I could not open the top cover. Could you please tell how to remove the top cover. Best regards

      They offer no schematics. Mine was great till the motor home had a alternator regulator fail, and it burned the control board and now its same as yours.

    Hello , thanks for the video , what is the no load consumption ? Thanks

    • @indrekmorell6615
      @indrekmorell6615 Год назад +1

      I have been using ts3000 for 8 months now and it has quite high base consumption. No load is around 40-45W, which consumes 1kWh in a day... with an average load 400w it wastes around 2kWh a day (overall consumption 10-12kWh).

      @@indrekmorell6615 Hi, I'm also in the same boat as you. Recently purchased two of these units. Mainly because I need reliability over cutting edge new tech. I read many places that these inverters are rock solid and can use for critical places. I was running few servers and network equipment.
      But I too noticed these are using very high power even in idle mode. Could you give me more information about your setup ? what type of batteries / solar panels / charge controllers / load you are using ?
      And, as you mentioned it wasting 2kw on 400w load. did you measure the consumption when load is full or nearly full ? How bad it is ?
      Finally how you experienced the quality of this unit ? Did you face any issues ? random shutdowns / overloads ? or any faults ?. Appreciate your input on this.

    HELP. Can I set this inverter low voltage point so that it only will discharge my batteries to 50% instead of 100% discharge. To set the low-voltage cut off at 24 instead of 21. At 21 V my 12 V batteries would be 10.5 V and completely discharged and hurt the life of the battery

      +John Steel IV Those can have their parameters set. It should be in the manual. How big a battery bank are you running? Hopefully over 1000 deep cycle amps @20hr

      Not all but many has a breaker on the output side. Some are mounted with trip/reset on the outside and some are inside. The top comes off, you can look inside. Also, those breakers can fail, and you have to test voltage on their incoming wires.

    Hi John, trying to install one of these and a battery as a backup system in South Africa. What exactly is meant to go in the NC slots? We need to add the live from our grid, but not sure where it should go? Was hoping its as easy as using the NC as the AC input. Cheers and thanks for the content!

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  Год назад

      You should have it with a input and out put AC and they are labeled L and NC ( line and neutral common ) but I would have to see your exact unit.

      The model is TS-3000 224B. The user manual (for the general TS/TN 3000 all models Section 3.2 AC Terminal: shows AC terminal configuration as: AC Input (L and N) Output as (L and N) and then FG. The data sheet for my specific model (2 pager) has the following in the diagram: NC NC / AC Output (L and N) and then FG.

    • @MrRoachZn
      @MrRoachZn Год назад

      My model looks the same in terms of the terminals as yours in the video review you posted. Just wondering if this model is able to be connected to the main grid- as the AC input terminal configuration has the electricians confused (with NC NC)😅
