      You let the dough rise. Then start frying. If you use instant yeast you can fry them right away I think.

      Instant” refers indeed to the fact that you can use it straight away, without the activation process. Hence, you will still need to wait for your dough to rise, so it will become nice and fluffy and tasty!

    Looks lovely! Just one question, I see you let the dough double in size, but you didn’t add yeast (although I see some comments about yeast?). I rather saw baking powder. Which should be used please?

    Onother version of mandazi is to use coconut milk with egg or without egg. Thanks Ihuini nice recipe

      Coconut makes them yummy. But.... It made the dough soooo sticky! How do you manage thar?

    Is it a must to use yeast when I have baking powder? Or the baking powder can play the role of yeast? I’m about to try your recipe for the first time. I hope my end results will come out exactly as yours 😋😋😋

      You can you baking powder too. Just depends what you have available

      Boil a tablespoon of flax seed and use the liquid as a binder instead of eggs. It is much healthier and natural.

      @@malabhojwani9156 ...substitute a tablespoon of flax for each egg; add it to 1.5 water; place on fire and let it boil for 3-5 mins; you will see the water thicken and turn milky; turn off the heat and allow to cool; sieve and add to your mixture. I sometimes blend the leftover flax to make bread. Yummy!

      Teaspoon (Tsp) for Dry ingredients and Tablespoon (Tbsp) butter or vegetable oil.

    Ohh you add yeast? !Did you add yeast? I put all the ingredients but forget to put yeast i add baking powder only .can we make mandazi without yeast

      No worries, Yes you can use dry yeast instead of baking powder there might be a slight change of taste but should do as well

      Yes they do depending on the thickness of your dough.

      @@ihuini yes but the dough was kind of hard I used self raising flour so wasn't a need to add baking powder /yeast will try again and keep you posted thanks Ihuini 😘
