Very tasty... Thank you so much for sharing this easy to follow recipe. I tried it for the first time and I didn't know what to expect. The outcome is very delicious...
Instant” refers indeed to the fact that you can use it straight away, without the activation process. Hence, you will still need to wait for your dough to rise, so it will become nice and fluffy and tasty!
Looks lovely! Just one question, I see you let the dough double in size, but you didn’t add yeast (although I see some comments about yeast?). I rather saw baking powder. Which should be used please?
Apologise fr asking u a question 3 years later😊can i use baking powder nd leave the dough overnight as i wld like preparing mandazi for breakfast. Tk u
Is it a must to use yeast when I have baking powder? Or the baking powder can play the role of yeast? I’m about to try your recipe for the first time. I hope my end results will come out exactly as yours 😋😋😋
@@malabhojwani9156 ...substitute a tablespoon of flax for each egg; add it to 1.5 water; place on fire and let it boil for 3-5 mins; you will see the water thicken and turn milky; turn off the heat and allow to cool; sieve and add to your mixture. I sometimes blend the leftover flax to make bread. Yummy!
@@ihuini yes but the dough was kind of hard I used self raising flour so wasn't a need to add baking powder /yeast will try again and keep you posted thanks Ihuini 😘

You let the dough rise. Then start frying. If you use instant yeast you can fry them right away I think.

Onother version of mandazi is to use coconut milk with egg or without egg. Thanks Ihuini nice recipe
Yes, you are right. Your welcome
Coconut makes them yummy. But.... It made the dough soooo sticky! How do you manage thar?

You can you baking powder too. Just depends what you have available
Thx for the show, yrdough didn't rest?
Let it rest for 45 to 1hr.
The spices 👍👌
Thank you😊am glad you like them
Lovely very easy receipt
In place of egg what else can we use
Thank you so much. An extra Tbsp of Butter will do.
Boil a tablespoon of flax seed and use the liquid as a binder instead of eggs. It is much healthier and natural.
@@Crabtree1844 Hi can you tell me in how much water do I need to boil it for and for how long ? Thank you so much in advance for your reply . 🙏🏻

@@Crabtree1844 Thank you so much for your kind explanation. 🙏🏻
Did you use cool or warm milk?
I use Luke warm milk😊
Hello, are you using table spoon 🥄 or tea spoon 🥄?
Teaspoon (Tsp) for Dry ingredients and Tablespoon (Tbsp) butter or vegetable oil.
hello ihuini what do you mean by placing them on baking powder please
Hello Mama Pebby ,not baking powder" on a baking paper"
oooo got you now thanks
How many deciliters in flour should i use instead of the cups measurement?
Ohh you add yeast? !Did you add yeast? I put all the ingredients but forget to put yeast i add baking powder only .can we make mandazi without yeast
Does the T in "3 Tsp" means table spoon, or tea spoon? 🥺
Tsp is Teaspoon and Tbsp is Tablespoon😊
@@ihuini 🥰 thank you x
Your welcome 😘
I would like to ask a couple of names: muqasqas or khameer. These are called in Yemen and other Arab countries.
Khameer or kamira, that is yest
Sorry, i read my comment and found that i made a mistake. It should have been “add” not “ask”.
No worries, Yes you can use dry yeast instead of baking powder there might be a slight change of taste but should do as well
Wait akuna maji used anywhere 😢😢khai mimi na instructions
Mbona nikipika ngozi yake inakuwa ngumu but ni matamu ndani
is the milk hot?
Warm milk
I did good but I think I put little of some baking powder 😢😅😊
Oh no, Hopefully it works better next time😊
Do the mandazi's have space in the middle???
Yes they do depending on the thickness of your dough.
Some of mine appeared flat and dry!
Am sorry to hear, did you follow exact measurements and the ingredients mentioned?
@@ihuini yes but the dough was kind of hard I used self raising flour so wasn't a need to add baking powder /yeast will try again and keep you posted thanks Ihuini 😘
Okay, make sure the dough is erastic and not hard. Your welcome 😘😘
