Only the first and second one were ever used on air, the rest are all test versions which were rejected. There's a video knocking around with loads of potential Thames jingles which never got used.
I never knew Central had so many different variations of the theme for this particular ident. For everybody outside the region we just heard the first and iconic version. Great ident, great times.
Oh i love Central's visual id and jingle, truly one of a kind out of all itv networks, i love how calm and ethereal it sounds and looks, and ngl, i prefer this look over the "cake" one, and SPECIALLY over the atrocity that Carlton did to them, those idents weren't anything about Central's identity and felt a bit insulting

ATV went out with a nothing farewell. And then we were greeted with this crap on 1 January 1982.
Since Central is actually ATV but mandated to change the name to represent Midlands.
These idents were a treasure in my opinion, even better than the ATV ones, but whatever suits you.
Did the “Muppet Show” reruns used this logo if you are in the UK after ATV’s demise?
