My love bird was my best freind, I loved him so much, I had him since he was 2 weeks old so I i saw him grow up, my little brother took him in the yard on a dusty day, we kept looking till sun set but we couldn’t find him, we looked all around the neighborhood, it was no use, I am still crying and I hope that he is okay, may god be with u kiwi❤️❤️.
Update: we found him happily sitting on a tree biting branches, he is super healthy and in good shape , I’m so grateful that I found him❤️

I trained my lovebird, same as this, without cutting his wings. He is a rescued bird. He was injured. I just gave him care, love and some personal space. Now every morning, he sits on my shoulder and together we prepare breakfast. I didn't train him for massage either. Flying is in their biology. Don't cut their wings. By cutting their wings, you become their need not someone they truly love or show trust to. Train them with wings. They'll be more happier this way.

I used to have parrots and never heard anything remotely close to cut their wings in order to make them your friends. My parrot used to do everything you show but without cutting any wings. The bird will slowly adjust to you and if you nice to them they will love you back. Don't hurt anyone to gain their love we aren't in Rome and it's not stone age.
It's like hey let's brake your bother arms and make him love you in the next 30 days. Even if it doesn't hurt the bird, it's still not the way people acquire others' respect. Time is the answer like in any relationship, you do your best and your partner will see it, bird or girlfriend it's the same in anything alive around us.

DONT CUT THEIR WINGS. You can easily earn their trust in many other ways. Cutting their wings will cause them insecurity and other psychological problems. If the bird flies away is because you are going to fast. You should first do things with the bird while it is inside its cage and then when it doesn’t fear your hand, try to get him out.

I like how you understand birds still need to be treated right, but it's still good to get an older bird. People think it's easier to make a bond with a bird if they're younger, but older birds are also as easy. Yeah, it might take longer, but it will pay off in the long-term. Plus, older birds are mostly neglected because no one likes getting them because they'd rather get younger birds. The bond you make with the bird only depends on how you treat them and how much time you give them, not the age.

@Just Someone - I recently got a very young pet store budgie. I'm not sure how young, but he had the bars going all the way down to his cere and his eyes are solid black. Anyway, I've had him for 7 weeks and he's still having a hard time adjusting. He hates coming out of his cage, ugh. I can leave the door open for hours and he usually won't come out on his own. He just sits there most of the time. My heart is broken for him. I spend a lot of time feeding him different veggies and working with him in the cage, but he's not playing much at all. He doesn't know how. I got a young one because I "thought" it would be easier but it's actually been kind of hard. The few times he's flown out of the cage, he's terrified and goes straight down to the floor because they pet store clips all of the birds. I don't want to re-open that issue. I'm just really scratching my head on how to speed up the "getting him to trust me more" process so we can start having some fun interactions, sigh. I thought it would be so much easier...

When I brought my bird, it was very wild and I was unable to hold it or feed it, so I clipped its wings and feeding it became easier with time. It got used to me and its wings grew, but I was always worried that it would fly to the electrical areas and get hurt or get stuck in a place and I could not find it, so I started closing the cage door constantly... With time, I felt that... Depressed...his wings were clipped again so that he could fly without rising too high. His cage is always open whenever he wants to go out and he can walk around the house comfortably.

well if you dont, thatll probably lead them to never love you, and in the end theyll probably live a stressful life around you since you cant let them out of their cage either as it too hard to catch and out them back. if you clip it, it gets used to you, and by the time its chill with you, its flight feathers probably would have grown back. so in the end, itll be happt and safe around, AND be able to fly. also, it isnt painful for the bird.

I've had my little lovebird and he died last Year.. His partner earlier. He was my best friend and got be be 13 1/2 years old. These little birds can get ca 15 years old.
What I want you to know is that you need to have at least 2 of them!
It makes it much harder to train them (probably impossible), but they need another one. Without it's cruel to them!!!
Especially lovebirds need a partner (also other parrots).
So please don't take just one! It's turture.
I understand you want him to be dependent on you. But why cut his wings as he loves to fly? It's a bird! Also when he's able to fly as he can he will get on your shoulder etc. Believe me.
And you take away a natural Skill of him and a natural escape choice as you put him under a lot of pressure.
So if you don't want your bird to fly away... Don't buy a bird.
    It's a BIRD.
Sorry my englisch isn't the best but I wanted to tell you this :) It's no hate against you just something I want you to know.

Hi, i am planning to buy a girl in several time. I cut his wings because he never had an experience of flying. And this way i am not taking anything from him, i will let them grow when he will be ready. I just want him to be less stressed and way more powerful emotionally, because he can’t fly away from the problem but face it. Trust me, in a few week he will appreciate the power of flying way more than other birds. Have a nice day.

Sadly that was the day she passed away I went out and bought another lovebird about a month after not to replace my other lovebird but too keep my home bright and full of life. Aw, sorry to hear that. We didn't go out of our way to get our lovebird, he flew into our neighbours house and our neighbour doesn't have birds or anything for birds, me and my family do. So they brang him to us in a small cage they had and asked if we wanted him, he's so damn beautiful. He's got like a deep red, darker green and abit of orange yellow around his neck but it's like alot darker on the top of his head. He's absolutely beautiful, we've had him for a few months and he was in a cage with like 1 toy for awhile, me and my mum didn't really have alot of money and with this virus it's hard. We felt bad and the virus has KIND OF calmed down and my mum's been getting more money so she bought him a whole new cage the other day, then today we went to do abit of groccery shopping so we went and got him a bunch of toys for in his new big cage, then we met up with this breeder and got him a friend, they kept grooming eachother and laying against eachother making a heart shape between the two of them. It's so cute, they only just met and they're already buddies.

your babies are still young and small and you can start tamming them easily but you have to be patient and to spend time with them as long as you can.
also try to speak in front of them with a soft voice and whispering and they will get used to your voice..
usually after few days they will more calm, and slowly try to feed them using your hand, because females are more sensitive than males just go slowly and step by step until you reach the final point where you could get them outside the cage..

Amani Bashir I recently got lovebirds too and I haven’t fully gained their trust yet but I am gradually. You need to let them out of their cage frequently so it is handy to have a place where they can freely fly about for a bit and play a few times a day. Make sure that the things that they will be around are not toxic to them. When you let them fly about freely, leave them alone for a bit and maybe sit outside of the area watching them then try to sit in their with them so they get used to you. You can also try hand feeding them with fruit/veg that they can have such as grapes, carrots, etc. Don’t try to chase them about on the first few weeks as they will get scared of you, that’s the mistake I made. When they are ready, they will come to you and sit on your hands and that. Make sure you give them at least 2-4 hours of attention every day and they will start to like you. Good luck!

You don't have to cut his wings for gaining trust!!! The thing you did is unacceptable he will not gain his wings anymore after the way you cut it!!! I have gained my birds trust without cutting his wings

Can I use this same method to get a girlfriend?
Just cut off her wings and she cannot escape then I approach her with a smile 😃

Thank you, this was a beautiful video. I lost my Lil Peep yesterday (wings not clipped) and I am kicking myself now.
