I've raised Lovebirds for 19 years - ALWAYS hand-feeding, because YOU become MOM to them, I've learned as you have, and YOU'VE given the BEST INFORMATION there is. Although, by getting them between 2 -5 weeks, I've never clipped there wings, and have walked, taken the "F" subway train in Brooklyn along with buses all over New York, and NEVER lost them...BECAUSE when you become MoM, they NEED & LOVE you. They WOULD fly to treetops, or top of signs, i.e. at Markets, but ALWAYS return after a short time. They would shred my dollar bills when my wallet was left out - and because of that, the tellers at my bank would ALWAYS replace my torn money because they LOVED watching him destroy the bills. I LOVE your video's and enjoy your presentation even though I've learned what you are constantly learning. KEEP IT UP...because ALL the NEW people can learned from you....and I think the way you explain things is very endearing.

Tbh I’m thinking of selling him because all he does is avoid me and I’ve tried giving him millet and scratching him but he still try’s to run and get away . What can I do to get him to trust me like that? If I can’t then I’ll just sell him and get a baby Lovebird to handfeed
A lovebird just flew into my house after the sound of my budgies. Now I have a lovebird and I am sure it is tame because it knows peek-a-boo and is very curious and happy around me and my family and never attempted to bite anyone. It doesn't trust our hands though, so we are slowly working on that by hand feeding it, though most of the time it doesn't come to us even then. I let it out of the cage I bought for it and it will fly around a bit and then go straight to the cage, I never even had problems trying to convince it to go inside, doesn't even stay an hour out before it decides to go to the cage and won't come back out for the day after that (meanwhile my budgies are little demons that will be all over me but the second I try to put them in the cage they decide it's time to rebel). I am going through a lot of videos to see if there is any difference between taming budgies and lovebirds, but I am starting to think all I need is to be a bit more patient, our little lovebird hasn't even been a month with us yet, while the budgies were born there and have been on my hands since they were 3 weeks old (their parents were from a pet store and it took me a year to make them comfortable in my hands, so I don't know why I am expecting such fast results from this little lovebird).
My lovebird is a demon, I cannot gain his trust but I do talk with him and try to put him on my shoulder but he keeps biting like a bitch. He bites so hard that blood came out my finger
My peach faced lovebird is also a demon, he sits on my hand, arm and shoulder but he still tries to bite me for no reason. He bit my other birds feet off and tries to attack them for no reason. He can be chill sometimes

A lovebird loved me instantly! I used used the softness from my eyes to give the bird a impression that i am a loveable person! It came on my shoulder and made kisses! Animals are very sensitive to affection and they want love! I have watched the bird for an half hour and after that time it trusted me! Be patience hand feed the bird and let it come to you and do not force him!

I'm one of the fans of Lovebird, especially the Lovebird which has the same color as yours . but I heard that lovebird which has white line around it's eyes, is easy to bite fingers or get back to their wild habits though we try to tame it. so I bet you are a good parrot handler.

It’s beautiful but for scared adopted lovebirds it doesn’t work this way. I have been trying everything and after 6 months they still don’t allow me to touch them. Recently I’m grabbing them with a towel and kissing them but it seems like they don’t like it and they become even more scared.

Could have been a number of things, never spray window cleaner in the same room as your birds. Or use non stick pans as they release Teflon which is deadly to birds.

Yeah, Fischer’s lovebirds (the ones with whites around their eyes) are a bit more difficult to tame than peach faced lovebirds

I know how you feel. The same thing happened to me a few days ago. He was a Gcc, not a Lovebird, but the pain is still the same.
