    Streaming a playthru of S.T.A.L.K.E.R will not be a mistake. This game just keeps calling you back, man - the Zone claims another life.
    Call of Chernobyl, all games and a bunch of tweaks in one good package. One more interesting thing about it is, the factions ultimately don't rely on you. They skirmish and occupy territory on their own, and the player character's help is well received but ultimately not absolutely required by the factions.
    Still can't decide between Freedom or Duty, honestly. Both are right.

      i agree both factions have a truth to them, duty wants to protect the world from the zone due to its dangers, and the fact that it just keeps expanding with every emission, while freedom wants to study it due to its supernatural elements creating relics and the anomalies
      its up to the individual to decide if they want to help study and understand the zone, or help stop its growth or even help in its eventual destruction

    • @hallowedbeyourdays
      @hallowedbeyourdays Год назад +1

      @@eshinnightrunner6290 Duty are really straightforward. Like the military, they want to keep the weird shit INSIDE the exclusion zone as opposed to where they hold dear. This means they have to be douchebags while slaughtering mutants and making bandits keep on fucking off, and the word in that regard is "They'll be alive *TO* hate us, and I'll count that as a win."
      Freedom recognizes the above, palms their face and shakes their head, because Duty also fully understands and decides to overlook that handling the crisis that is the existence of the Zone is *not that simple*. If it was a problem that could be handled with bullets and bombs, it would've been dust on the wind by now. They recognize that the Zone is simply beyond man's present understanding, and the route to finding a solution may be the longest haul of modern history. That's why they make effort to cultivate brotherhood among Stalkers.

    YES, would totally watch a STALKER stream. But don't go straight for the mods. Start with Shadow of Chernobyl, the first game. It's fairly linear in progression (not much backtracking and difficulty spikes) but the levels are open ended allowing for some different combat approaches. The AI, while at times weird, is great. They will roam, flank, sneak around you. The mutant AI is great too - lone dogs will run away but a pack can be absolutely ruthless.
    The gunplay is good too - pistols are only useful at really close ranges, while rifles are best used in semiauto.

    • @judsongaiden9878
      @judsongaiden9878 Год назад +1

      In my experience, select-fire rifles are best used on full-auto firing 2- to 4-round bursts. Also, pistols have mostly realistic accuracy. You can nail snorks in the head out past average room-length or even "barn-length" distances with a good ol' 1911. In Oblivion Lost, pistols are so accurate that it requires some suspension of disbelieve. Sort of the opposite extreme from Clear Sky. In that mod, if yer eyes are keen enough, you can nail snorks in the head with a pistol of your choice even at sniper-like distances!

    The book is free in English on the internet. Was translated by one of the brothers as a middle finger to Western publishers. Later on there was an official release, but the free version still floats on the internet.
    It's a great book. One of those great non endings that tell you that you are reading some high literature. It's actually the authors speciality. And it's not even that nothing happens, it's just they leave you on really ambiguous Zen note....

    Car thing is kinda both. What lukely happend there was car getting into gravitational anomaly, which indeed lifts and then tear apart things. It should be noted that vehicles weren't finished, and got cut. Modders usually restore them, but are unable to fix underlying issues, thus those anomalies can easily throw car outside map boundaries.

    The mutant that pulls you in is called a controller. They're one of the easier mutants to deal with in my experience. The distorted guy talking is from a video you can find here on RUclips, but everything else is in the game. They actually inflict a unique mental status effect when they successfully attack you, but you just walk it off and you're fine. I killed that controller shown in the video by just running up to him and pumping him with a 12 gauge shotgun. As it turns out, they're more effective from a distance and can't do much of anything in CQC. The twenty thousand bandits and soldiers and the invisible bloodsucker you encounter immediately before the controller are far more difficult to deal with, and I lost count of how many times I died just getting to that point.
    Edit: This is the video Sseth used for the controller. ruclips.net/video/Kl3H4vMqYNo/видео.html

    bilingualism is actually a pretty rare quality in russia. even in online communities, ones that are made solely of russians would have you hardpressed to find someone who can piece together more than the one sentence they can remember from school.

  • @Azumazini
    @Azumazini Год назад +1

    To answer your question on the multilingual part. My wife is Russian, and it really depends on which Republic in Russia we are talking about. She's from Tatarstan which is a large section of South West Russia which is a mix of Tatars and ethnic Russians. So you have the native Tatar language with Russian, Turkish, and some Arabic since there is a large Muslim population there. In East Russia, you get a large mix of Russian, Mongolian, and other Ethnic languages. When people think of not being multi-lingual, they are really thinking about Moskavites aka those from the Moscow region including west like St. Petersberg and no, maybe 3-5% speak another language and it's usually English and most of those people work in Aviation, IT/Computers, or Banking.

    since you're pretty versed in the general concepts of drug interactions and chain of command, I'm wondering if you'd be interested playing or watching some videos on Ghost Recon: Wildland. The main premise is that you're a Ghost Team sent into Bolivia to take down a drug kingpin and his entire cartel. The entire organization is broken up into 4 branches...production, smuggling, security, and influence. There are generals and leaders within that bracket you either have to kill or capture, and based on how much you disassemble the cartel determines how the ending plays out. It's got a lot of flaws and it's definitely not perfect, but every general has a full introduction and reason to why they're there and why you have to take them down. There's a video that just goes over all the cartel leaders and their cutscenes, and the briefings are always an interesting watch.

    Anyone who thinks you can get rid of greed is an idiot. Greed is literally a representation of something every living organism on this planet does: the gathering of resources. The more resources you have the better whether you are a plant or a human. Greed is the motivation for just about everything that animals do.

    I have played the first 2 (shadow of chernobyl and clear sky) to their respective canonical ends, have yet to start call of pripyat.
    Sseth mixed the order: clear sky is first(prequel), then shadow(main), and then pripyat(sequel).
    GOG versions (except Pripyat), despite normally fixing any issues original game(s) may have had, are still prone to constant crashing (especially clear sky), just as original versions.
    My recommendation - if you're going to play them, get the ''(name of installment)-complete'' patch for all 3 mains games, clear sky is basically unplayable without it, they add some stuff cut from final versions, add some new stuff, fix the quests (especially in clear sky) and stabilize the game(s) to such a degree that you won't need to hard+quick save ever so often (since they will crash maybe 1% or less than that compared to at least 50% if playing without the patch).
    Also the STALKER Anomaly should be good, I'm not sure how it is related to Call of Chernobyl (will have to try both of them too). Anomaly, Call of Chernobyl and the ''-complete'' patches can be found at the same place - moddb. Hope this helps.

    About the clip from 1:05 It's from a youtube channel Super Sus. They do a great deal of urban exploration around Kyiv in Ukraine. You should check it out, it very interesting and they have English subtitles on most videos. Transistria in Moldova is he exact same situation as now in Ukraine with Donbass region. Annexed by Russia in the 90s "to protect russians". It can't be recognized by other countries, because that would just be a green light to superpowers to just start new conflicts in Europe "to protect it's citizens". (Hitler attacked Austria in 1938-39 for the same "reasons" btw)
