@@Kimballion it provides rhe MOST bare minimum protection, it doesnt make the rad sign insta red. It makes it yellow which is extremely better than nothing.
@@halvememes This is true normally but not so much for gamma all you need is 500 msv and you will start losing health rapidly even below 500 msv you will start getting damaged and it's not hard to get 500 msv in gamma radiation is deadly in this mod pack.
@@LLC008 Yeah all it takes is one nasty patch of radiation and you will be hurting badly and gamma puts in random patches of radiation everywhere I only have a gp-5 and it's only just barely enough for southern areas it probably won't be enough for army warehouses
Jokes aside I feel like Clear Sky is one of the best factions to start in Gamma.. you have immediate access to the main missions and you get pretty good starting armor for free, you get decent backpack, you're neutral with most of the annoying factions in the game and a lot of the missions in the swamps give you decent money and reputation without having to travel too far.. when I start doing some ironman runs after full release I'll probably go with CS
That and clear sky has some of the most awesome unique armors in the game. The armor looks almost European or maybe even American. In earlier versions of stalker, clear sky was supposed to be foreign, like the mercenaries, but they changed it to remnants of the soviet union, which is admittedly wayyy cooler.
They also have one of the most heavily defended bases in the zombie apocalypse. I found that out while playing call of pripyat, the predecessor to this mod. The campfire guards and the gate guards will ALWAYS spawn. It's one of the only few safe bases in the entire game, with lots of soldiers should you be in a pinch and need a place to run to.

I love the mod so far but the loners get an smg that requires nato optics it's not good loners and duty do not sell nato optics your only options for nato optics are clear sky and freedom and you need to gain rep with either first before they will sell them it's not great design needless to say I spawned in my optics because there was no way I was dealing with ai aim bot with an iron sight
Game looks real great so far as well, running as clear sky. Focusing on cold's quests. Gonna scronge and quest for supply's to sell til I can get a nice medium \ long range weapon that I can hopefully find a double sighted weapon sight.

"why am i so fast?" because gamma's weight system slows you down depending on your encumbrance, so once you dropped all the stuff in the stash, you became fast as fuck boi
There is a stash you can use in the main Clear Sky camp. It's in a small window on the outside wall of the bartender's area where the radio/music is usually coming from. Fire mode and ammo count are part of the body health HUD. Seems like you got a bit unlucky with the alife spawning a lot of hostile factions instead of mutants. I had a much easier time. If you reroll a faction that can do that custom quest line, don't wait on it. The ecologist in the old church will give you some nice armor for early game.
I was skeptical about Gamma at first but it really is the best feeling Stalker Anomaly experience I've had. Even the reshade they have is pretty good, most of the time they're too contrasty and shmeared in blur and vignette.
gamma is an amazing modpack but it requires some tweaks and optimizations for sure. 1. i hate the main menu song. i always disable it, although, the sound file is located in not only main menu theme mod, but also in a crafting/economy mod, which requires opening the folder and removing the sound file from that mod as well (quite frustrating). this will revert back to the vanilla anomaly main menu song. 2. for some reason, re-shade comes without performance mode ticked. also. untick the "color correction blah blah" option in re-shade, it does basically nothing but eat 7-10 fps. disable everything else except the "saturation/contrast blah blah" and the bloom, i also tweak the bloom just a bit. 3. disable SMAA completely. it eats another 5-10 fps and overly blurs many details, it also breaks wet surface reflections. 4. turn sun rays to "both" screen space and volumetric. no performance hit, looks much better. also, turn sun-rays main to 1. 5. old ammo to new ammo converter. i always disable it. i prefer having both, and i like unloading the weapons i loot. 6. some other things here and there require tweaking/disabling. in the MCM, one of the overhauls eliminates many mutant types, i turn them all back on. it also eliminates the zombified stalker faction, i also re-enable them. 7. item condition and economy are absolutely immersion breaking to me, i adjust the item condition and rate at which various ranks drop them, and i adjust the economy to once again buy/sell guns and clothing. in survivalist difficulty this is still very balanced and just much more realistic and less tedious. i have guns in real life that have spat out over a thousand rounds without so much a basic cleaning and still operate perfectly. one magazine worth of bullets should not degrade my gun significantly. edit: also, open task manager with ctrl+shift+esc while the game is running, go to the details tab and find the DX11 instance of anomaly, right click, choose affinity, and disable core 0. this will help immensely with the stuttering and overall performance. (depending on your CPU, if older intel monolithic no, if newer multicore/multithread or ryzen, yes)

But Duty does not operate like a mercenary band but like a army with munition rations etc. Thats why whenever i find a artifact i donate it to duty and all the things lore wise a dutyer should not posses and just cheat spawn ammunition like in the real army. I go for the Serbian military allotment of 7.62x39 ammunition that is 120 rounds plus 30 in the rifle for combat operations. Considering this is in Ukraine 7.62x39 ammo should be easier to find than bread.
I never understood in the original game why stashes were always empty UNLESS you looted a body and discovered the location from their PDA. It goes against 'an alive zone'. Surely loners would be making stashes all the time and not saving it to their PDA to advertise, if you will, to everyone else. Not all stashes are emergency drops; I used to leave stashes dotted around so I could top up on supplies when on ventures. The idea of randomly stumbling upon someone else's stash and choosing to leave it or steal it is one of the parts of this game. It's a odd move from GAMMA team, IMHO.
Although it didn't make sense logic-wise, it made sense gameplay-wise. The stashes were a reward for killing enemies or finding dead bodies, the PDA is like finding an old pirate treasure map, and the loot is meant to be well-hidden, you are not supposed to be able to stumble upon it without the map. Except since the game doesn't have mechanics for digging stuff out of the ground or whatever, there's actually a box or backpack already in that location, and it is magically empty if you don't have the treasure map. If the developers puts 60 stashes scattered across a level, but they were all full (because boxes getting magically filled doesn't make sense), player could choose not to fight enemies or do missions and instead explore every tree stump and abandoned building and car and find all the stashes, loading up with loads of gear. But it wasn't the developers' intention that there be 60 full stashes in the level, rather it is meant to be more like 60 possible random stash locations. Finding stashes without the PDA is supposed to be a hopeless task, like going to a desert island and digging up random sections of beach looking for pirate treasure without a map.
I just came across this mod because of you and I gotta say thanks man. Probably the best mod I've ever played. Got into my first gunfight as clear sky at the pump station with a tactical USP and the gun sounds and just overrall feel of the gunplay was fucking amazing. I have a lot to learn since I never played Anomaly. So many mechanics :O
Man, I've been playing as UNISG for few days. Brutally hard. Hunted by everyone, nowhere to rest, scarce ammo, limited saves... Darkscape is scary with beasts lurking around, then Dark Valley bandits drained out all of my ammo. By the time I went to Truck Cemetery, I was sleepy, wounds everywhere, but still had to fight the bandit base to get to Army Warehouse And man, being severely wounded, sleepy, out of ammo, overloaded...freedom dudes hunted me down, it's damn crazy. Intended to go straight to Dead City from there but in the end I had to take the Red Forest-Limansk-Dead City route to be finally at some safe zone. Still, everything is so expensive and I don't have any tool yet, the journey seems far from comforting. Crazy.
nice that you do that GAMMA Thing... since i discovered this ModPack, it made me play Stalker again. Anomaly was good, but this Pack is great Work. i would love to see a Loner Play of some kind ^^. nice contant by the way!
Kroliks aren't necessarily new mutants they are cut ones. I think they are in stock Anomaly but quite rare or maybe it's dynamic mutant mod that spawns them. Not really a threat.
that mutant the karlick is in basegame anomoly but its so rare to find them, ive only found them in the swamps and red forest. some mod in the modpack must increase spawns for them because i notice them way more in gamma
Clear sky is my favorite faction. I chose clear sky as my first faction in both vanilla anomaly and gamma. Not because of any advantages or challenges, but because those dumbasses need all the help they can get.
karliks are actually not new, they're just relatively rare but they were already there since i found out about anomaly around 2019.. despite their rareness i'm .. stunned, that you've not encountered them befor :D that's insane. in anomaly they're pretty harmless but i wounder what may changed in gamma. i did kinda freak out when i saw what they did with the fractures xD

Armor my dude, if you're gonna begin in the swamps with lots of mutants more than weapons you need armor it significantly boost the number of hits a mutant needs to kill you and reduces chances of bleeding and you can kill almost all early encounters with a pistol.
Definitely one of the best if you're looking for a survival-themed modpack for your playthrough in anomaly. Apart from a few glitches here and there, not much to complain about.
Worst faction in game: Friends with almost every faction, which is important because it allows you to start in the easiest place of the game while still being friendly with Mercenaries... who generally have the some of the best equipment in the game.... Except its GAMMA, so they wont be selling gear, but still, Clear Sky and Loners are probably the best factions for starting out.
I know its just me but the long walks to and fro in stalker are some of my favorite things. Slow and taking time to soak every place in even if I've been there so many times. it never gets old. plus, you find things on the way you might have missed. its just immersive to me.
Dude, you're too good at this game. Edit: Daddy token crashes the game, yes, it's on purpose. And yeah, healing system is funky. Get lotsa bandaids, fentanyl and yodolin. Oh, and on medium, touching the water isn't a problem whatsoever. There's just radiation clouds all over the map, but it's not higher density in water.
I learned the game on clear sky because they are friendly with most factions. I enjoyed the swamp because it pushed me to learn fast with radiation and all the dangers of the zone
I know this video is 7 months old now but theres a stash in the Clear Sky base. Its behind the bar, theres a door on the side and the radio in the window is the stash.

I installed GAMMA RC3 but black screen on startup, I tried to delete the User LTX file entirely or simply put fullscreen off but the problem persists I was able to access the mini map with settings, I can move I have sound in the game with my health bar but not the main image of the game Could a breeki boy help me? 4:02 I have bad stuttering as well (rtx 3060/i7 6900k) would you consider ever doing a "disable core 0" tutorial from the instructions on the gamma discord? I thought I did everything correctly, but it doesn't work for me :(
Stashes for the base so your not running back and forth. One is a barrel in the back of the sleeping shack and the other is the food traders radio above the fridge (have to peak at it through the food shack door window).
@@Catchy94 Your right. I have found an item or two say out of a hundred. But for stashing your loot in the Clear Sky base the above mentioned are the only ones I know of.
I know this was 6 months ago but god damn it, standing in the open amidst a firefight is the worst idea ever. You got really lucky that that single CS guy took care of that renegade that kept nibblin' you with the shotgun. xD
Swamp is ok unless your mod give enemies perfect accuracy, far sight and perfect vision through the bushes. Or play STALKER CS and have to deal with faction war system abomination. Wish my mod could work, guess my PC is old piece of junk, with a lot of mess gathered through the years of service because it can't run GAMMA... oh well
It's a bit of a cheat, and it's a QOL ease thing, but don't forget that, by default, U will unload all non equipped weapons in your inventory. Handy if you're not keeping the heavy weapons, but wish to sell the old ammo etc.
Guns jam very often, even if they are freshly repaired. I almost never manage to unload a magazine without jamming. Are there any solutions for this? Where can one buy guns?
But a respirator would have been a good idea since radiation is really deadly at the beginning and I find it hard to find a gas mask in the first 4 hours
It's all a matter of taste tbh. EFP is an amazing modpack. I tend to like GAMMA better as I love crafting / repairing everything and GAMMA is more geared towards that with a better progression curve. But its exactly what some people hate. It really depends what you enjoy in the game!

Radiation just need 3-5 second to reach maximum and that is with the mask. Can't imagine surviving without it tbh

12:35 those are actually unmodded anomaly mutants, they just are really rare, like in 30 playthrougs i found just 7 maybe 8

Clear Sky is a pretty good faction imo. Especially cause they're neutral with the mercs and the mercs are absolutely brutal.
i was a loner want to wild territory got my shit pushed in by mercs in a sniper position by the rostok entrance. yeah they are joke
I don't mind being hostile with the mercs, they tend to drop a lot of good loot. Much easier then fighting monolith as well.
If you can't beat em, join em. Just join the Mercs

Isn't there a magazine system in this modpack? I feel like it adds a lot to the realism.
It's optional, and disabled by default. The system is great imo since it makes weapon with no magazine more useful (like SKS and Mosint Nagant)
Armor my dude, if you're gonna begin in the swamps with lots of mutants more than weapons you need armor it significantly boost the number of hits a mutant needs to kill you and reduces chances of bleeding and you can kill almost all early encounters with a pistol.

I've been playing this since your last video and I've got to say it's really really good. Not just really good. But really, really good!
Definitely one of the best if you're looking for a survival-themed modpack for your playthrough in anomaly. Apart from a few glitches here and there, not much to complain about.

Worst faction in game: Friends with almost every faction, which is important because it allows you to start in the easiest place of the game while still being friendly with Mercenaries... who generally have the some of the best equipment in the game.... Except its GAMMA, so they wont be selling gear, but still, Clear Sky and Loners are probably the best factions for starting out.
Only thing this modpack needs to be eazier to install its to be on Steam
I know its just me but the long walks to and fro in stalker are some of my favorite things. Slow and taking time to soak every place in even if I've been there so many times. it never gets old. plus, you find things on the way you might have missed. its just immersive to me.
The title says "Trying out STALKER GAMMA with the WORST FACTION in the game" but you didn't play with Freedom

And yeah, healing system is funky. Get lotsa bandaids, fentanyl and yodolin.
Oh, and on medium, touching the water isn't a problem whatsoever. There's just radiation clouds all over the map, but it's not higher density in water.

I learned the game on clear sky because they are friendly with most factions. I enjoyed the swamp because it pushed me to learn fast with radiation and all the dangers of the zone
As a Tarkov and Hell Let Loose enjoyer, one of the first things I did in stalker gamma was to turn the run and sprint speeds down like 20%!

I know this video is 7 months old now but theres a stash in the Clear Sky base. Its behind the bar, theres a door on the side and the radio in the window is the stash.

I installed GAMMA RC3 but black screen on startup, I tried to delete the User LTX file entirely or simply put fullscreen off but the problem persists
I was able to access the mini map with settings, I can move I have sound in the game with my health bar but not the main image of the game

4:02 I have bad stuttering as well (rtx 3060/i7 6900k) would you consider ever doing a "disable core 0" tutorial from the instructions on the gamma discord? I thought I did everything correctly, but it doesn't work for me :(

Stashes for the base so your not running back and forth. One is a barrel in the back of the sleeping shack and the other is the food traders radio above the fridge (have to peak at it through the food shack door window).
If we're talking about the same stashes, unmarked stashes are empty in GAMMA
@@Catchy94 Your right. I have found an item or two say out of a hundred. But for stashing your loot in the Clear Sky base the above mentioned are the only ones I know of.

How is the enemy AI here compared to EFP? In EFP they actually don't see you through bushes up to a certain extent. Is this more vanilla anomaly-like?
I know this was 6 months ago but god damn it, standing in the open amidst a firefight is the worst idea ever. You got really lucky that that single CS guy took care of that renegade that kept nibblin' you with the shotgun. xD

Swamp is ok unless your mod give enemies perfect accuracy, far sight and perfect vision through the bushes. Or play STALKER CS and have to deal with faction war system abomination. Wish my mod could work, guess my PC is old piece of junk, with a lot of mess gathered through the years of service because it can't run GAMMA... oh well
It's a bit of a cheat, and it's a QOL ease thing, but don't forget that, by default, U will unload all non equipped weapons in your inventory. Handy if you're not keeping the heavy weapons, but wish to sell the old ammo etc.

If you do restart, id love to see anomaly magazines enabled.
Guns jam very often, even if they are freshly repaired. I almost never manage to unload a magazine without jamming. Are there any solutions for this?

You can't buy guns in Gamma, you can only loot them and repair them for your own use
Why didn’t you choose armor for the beginning?
First CS mission gives you a brand new armor so I figured I'd focus on weapons!
But a respirator would have been a good idea since radiation is really deadly at the beginning and I find it hard to find a gas mask in the first 4 hours

how does this compare to EFT?
It's all a matter of taste tbh. EFP is an amazing modpack. I tend to like GAMMA better as I love crafting / repairing everything and GAMMA is more geared towards that with a better progression curve. But its exactly what some people hate. It really depends what you enjoy in the game!
