RUclipss janky algorithm run by inept egotistical gremlins who couldn’t remake RUclips if put a gauss rifle to their helmet is a anomaly just like the engine that made stalker, the ghost in the machine must have looked kindly on the favorable praise laid on a similar anomaly . . . Or it just did something random cause ya know it’s janky
Oh yeah, here in Poland we have some copies of build 2137, codename "okrutnik" but they are locked up so no one can ever see, or whats worst, "play" them.
Making strong points against the tarkovization of stalker is singlehandedly opposing a greater half of the community and it's very brave. While i've sunk hundreds of hours into the likes of Anomaly and A.R.E.A, the original games and mods like oblivion lost truly lack of recognition they fully deserve. And great video too my man!
@@wiwysovanot really. you just dont like them *because* they're popular. very hipsteresque. like those people who only watch B movies because they think they found hidden gems and it makes them feel special about themselves.
@@Tacdeliousually I'd agree but with the how movies and video game are now. Things get super popular because they are pushed to be that way. It's genuinely good advice to just avoid AAA games and Hollywood movies
Universal soldier refers to some mutants probably being created as an experiment of making a universal soldier which explains some of their supernatural traits like invisibility, mind control etc.
Yeah while I was editing, I re-read the Russian wiki and it seems there was at some point some ideia to have the controllers be some kind of next-generation soldier program, I will probably have to make a corrections video kkkk.
Tourist Delight!- Soviet SPAM in a can. Originally called “Tourists Breakfast” (alternatively- Campers or even Hikers Breakfast, a easier to understand name for foreigners) -, contained 80% mixed cow/pig meat and 20% fats along with ample seasoning. Its high in protein and calories and made a good snack while chilling near a fire in a camping scenario. Wasn’t a huge fan when I was a kid, but after a long hike it’s a gift from the Gods
>comes from nowhere >makes godtier video >gives based take on the tarkov-ization of stalker mods >pills the public on reality the wish granter >promises another epic godtier video holy based
What do you mean by tarkovization? Are they both not inherently similar due to their focus on gunplay in a hardcore survival backdrop while also both being heavily open world? It feels expected for them to be pretty close to eachother in their content and gameplay. Hardcore survival. Just in different contexts despite their emphasis' on alternative timelines. One is apocalyptic zone-survival horror while the other is apocalyptic zone-survival with a dash of geo-politics. Even writing this out they still seem more and more similar lol.
@@brolaire8851 Tarkovization means making stalker more like a generic FPS shooter, by focusing on gunplay over all other elements of stalker, such as atmosphere, narrative, survival and the zone in general. In your comment you say that Stalker focuses on gunplay like Tarkov, i agree that most of the "active" gameplay is gunplay, but the stalker experience as a whole is made up more by the atmosphere (the zone, survival, immersion etc.) than the gunplay. These tarkovization mods change the focus of the overall experience from the zone & atmosphere to gunplay. (if this comment doesnt make any sense its because im fucking zoinked rn)
@@brolaire8851 the focus on the original trilogy has always been in lore and atmosphere. Sure it has quite a lot of guns and ammo types which affect the behaviour of weapons but it wasn’t really the main focus. Games like Tarkov make a lot more emphasis in gun customisation, “realism” and survival (food and water, good health system, inv. management, etc) rather than atmosphere and lore. Sure there is some story going on but it’s in the background and I don’t think people really care about it. In stalker, you are part of that story and a key piece in the unfolding of the events, and that’s why so many people look with disdain at freeplay/sandbox mods who focus more on the gunplay aspect rather than the story. But tbh, even though there’s a clear “tarkovization” (probably speaking about Anomaly + GAMMA and other *Misery-based* mods), they are just mods that give a different experience which, by the looks of how popular they became, is very attractive to a lot of people. Sure it can give “false expectations” or “lore misconceptions” to newcomers but that’s on them because those freeplay mods were never meant for them, but rather to veteran players looking for something different (and modern too, GAMMA looks and feels fantastic, better than a lot of FPSs out there)
@@sendhelp1074 No? honestly they just made stalker a better game for me,call me a normie or whatever but playing stalkers with graphics that arent from 2004 made me enjoy the atmosphere and world more,i think you are being negative due to the influx of braindead youtubers, same thing happend with "gmod realism"
Amazing work! Your knowledge of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is very impressive. I'll look forward to your future videos and share them around. I'm especially interested in your project to get all the builds and design documents. I believe it is a huge undertaking that someone needs to achieve, and that person could very well be you. I do have some documents that I could share but it's only a small part of all there is, and most likely you already have them. In any case, good luck to you :)
The big issue with locating all these builds and documents is that almost all the download links for them are older then the majority of the people on this platform, so like 90% have been taken down or died, hell I went to the Russian wiki article that catalogs all the builds and documents and I was only able to download like 1/10 of all the content cuz all the links are dead. After I get them all, I hope to use my web designs skills to create a sort of "Stalker-Archive" site to document and catalog them all.
@@MECHENY935 I hope you will succeed. If I remember correctly, PC Gaming Inquisition (now PCGI) played all the available builds to create his documentary on the development of Oblivion Lost and Shadow of Chernobyl. Maybe you can ask him for help in acquiring the builds. Getting in touch with Russian RUclipsrs and fans could also be a good idea, people like Vandeley and SurDno might be able to help you.
@@anomalousdugout9557 yeah I been thinking of sending him a email for some time now, hopefully he stills had then on his PC, when I find the time I will contact him.
After @Anomalous Dugout 's recent Q&A video I couldn't find your channel @STRELOK . But thanks to RUclips algorithm I've finaly found your channel. This video/project is huge! Great work! I hope we will see a part 2 or a correction video. However I wanted say about the lost Alpha mod. In it you can find some cut contents, for example Darkscape, Dead City, Old Road (or level12) and some cut missions, vehicles and NPCs as well. The Illuminati part it's just a false ending. It was kind of funny, but I agree with you that it isn't coherent with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. I've played Lost Alpha many times, up to Lost Alpha: Revisited (it's a 1.4007 DC build with some mods, it's like a complete vanila mod), however I don't recommend playing with the 1.4008 (or Lost Alpha DC Extended), because it's like an Anomaly mod inside the LA 1.4007. And if you have any question about LA, ask me, I hope I can answear them. :) Also I speak Russain very good, if you need some help with some translation I may help you out sometimes.
Newbies asking about removing mutants and anomalies from their Stolker Anomaly/Gamma is utterly disgusting. Gamers are thirsty for a singleplayer tarkov and it shows lol
I’d absolutely love a single player Tarkov, but not stalker, it’d need to be a different game. Stalker without mutants and anomalies would lose so much
After beating Anomaly a couple of times I'm doing a warfare playthrough with low mutant spawns but tripled STALKER spawns. Super fun and a helleva challenge going north of Limansk/Army Wearhouses.
I think anomaly and more specifically gamma has divided the stalker community into people who played and enjoyed the original games and those who found out about anomaly from some Tarkov larp RUclipsr and have no clue what stalker is.
i agree with both points made here. the stalker series is its own thing. Battlestate Games hates the idea of people modding EFT into a single player game but are simultaneously missing out on massive sales, this is made obvious by how popular the SPT Tarkov mod is.
I love how the deepest level of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Understanding is just insulting us repeatedly for not knowing possibly the most illuminating and groundbreaking knowledge that would irreperably destroy society at large if it was widespread.
In the russian version of the games, C-Consciousness is called "O-Soznanie". Just like the C stands for "common", the O stands for "obshee", which means "common". This is likely why early on they were called O-Consciousness. Fun fact - the russian name "O-Soznanie" has double meaning. Not only is it a shortened version of "common consciousness", "osoznanie" is also a word itself, and means something like "realization", or "discovery", or "awareness".
Just mentioning the fact that all of the weapons in stalker are mirrored versions of their real-life counterparts. For instance the kalashnikovs ejection port and fire selector are on the left side rather than on the right side where it should be.
Pretty common thing to do in that era of gaming. It’s meant to show off the animations, which is also why many AR15s show the dust cover opening and closing as the bullets eject. It originated in counterstrike, as the person who made it was left handed and modelled all of the guns as such, which were then mirrored to the right hand
Also, I think some respect should be given to Anomaly. Rebuilding an engine aside, they do revive several elements of cut content and introduce a lot of players to the idea STALKER was supposed to have much, much more stuff. I was in awe when I saw the GAMMA map even after completing the series - it had so much novel stuff. It may be a subversion of the true purpose of STALKER, sure, but it's free, and it's a great "follow up" for people who wanted more survival in the STALKER universe. I mean, playing the "storyline" and meeting Strelok himself after over 50 hours of gameplay was really satisfying. Luckily STALKER 2 won't follow Anomalys path - it simply can't - so we have little to worry about the "Tarkovization" of the Zone. Also, I'm particularly interested in replying SoC with Oblivion Lost - would love to see the Zone in its original entirety.
The "Universal Soldier" project refers to the X-Labs' experiments that were made in order to create super-soldiers. The result of the experiments is basically every single mutant that exists in the Zone.
1:38:05 Actually i think its mentioned in one of the main S.T.A.L.K.E.R games, that possibly the way the monolith is able to get basically any equipment they want, such as weapons, suits, ammunition, and even some very special weapons like the gauss rifle, is because the C-Conciusness actually produces all of that equipment, you can even find in Call of pripyat some underground facilities that specialize in making the prototype gauss rifle and other special equipment not find anywhere in the world, this is not any foreign organization, since you can find a note about the scientists that work for the monolith discribing the procedures of the gauss rifle. Another fact that is mentioned aswell tells how the C-Conciusness can break all of the reality in the zone, so they pretty much can make all the equipment they want just because they control the flow of all the things that sorround the zone. Nontheless, Its a pretty amazing subject to think about it
Since Anomalous Dugout is mentioned I'd also like to recommend the channel Stalker World. It's a Polish channel about Stalker with just as much lore, and there are English subtitles for every video. Unfortunately lately there have been some issues with RUclips and another Polish Stalker group which made them delete most of their videos, but there are still some up there and hopefully the others will come back too.
I bless the algorithm for sending me here. As a stalker fan from Latam I’ll always love every single person who speaks about this awesome game. Great video!
Night three of falling asleep to this. Super relaxing, somehow. I guess there’s just something comforting about the Zone. Probably Monolith brainwashing starting to take hold.
Russian here - "tourist delight" is based on a real soviet product called "tourist breakfast", which was basically a brand of tushonka - traditional slavic preserved stewed meat, usually pork. While perfectly safe to eat straght from the can as-is, it's usually warmed up and added to noodles, mashed potatoes or vegetable stews. Also, a staple of (post-)soviet MREs due to the sheer amount of calories, both per kg as well as per liter, very efficient logistics.

RUclips recommend me this video and i watched it till the end, your video about this stalker iceberg is god tier content that is difficult to find in this site because of the mindless algorithm. New sub btw! P.d: Your rant about stalker anomaly and this new wave of bootleg tarkov mods flowing in the stalker community is on point, straight up cancer, i myself played anomaly and gamma, i really enjoyed them but it didn't feel like stalker, is just an mil sim tarkov style but with sobrenatural stuff and stalker lore mash up, the atmosphere changed so much that is not stalker for me, is really just like tarkov or whatever tactical shooter with survival horror mechanics. I played a bit OLR and i loved it, the atmosphere of the mod scares me the f out of me for real, i recommend everyone that loves stalker to play it, it's free and well made.
1:47:30 completely agree with you there, i like anomaly but it's nowhere near as good as Oblivion Lost Remake because the greatest thing about S.TA.L.K.E.R. is the atmosphere and anomaly just doesn't have that, i like the gameplay but after a while it feels so soulless, currently playing GAMMA and i don't know how to feel about it, it doesn't feel like S.TA.L.K.E.R. anymore
Yeah, I will eleborate about this on a later video but I feel that mods like anomaly have kinda missed the forest for the trees, focusing too much on making the game "realistic" instead on focusing about the truly unique thing that sets stalker apart from other games that being the otherworldly zone and it's sci-fi elements. If I want to play a "realistic tactical" shotter I will go play something like Arma or tarkov or insurgency, I don't go to stalker because I want a realistic experience, That's also why i like the eastern mods more thant the western mods because as yeah as stupid and absurd as some of the quests in mods like ns 2016 or God forbid OP2.2 are at least they are trying to do something original and interesting with the zone and it's strange, alien aspects. But hey look if you want to play a really good mod that focuses more on the zone and it's misteries I highly recommend playing goldsphere it's really well made.
@@MECHENY935 i prefer them aswell but i can't describe their atmosphere, the closest i can get is that they're esoteric, playing them feels like you're in a bizzare nonsensical world that is somehow real and one that is as beautiful as it is dangerous. Anomaly and Gamma feel like you're in some random warzone trying to survive which is something i enjoy playing but again it's nothing compared to mods such as Goldsphere and OLR
One of the reasons why I love them is because I'm slavic and live in Eastern Europe but i don't speak nor really understand Russian. So the already unique bizarre atmosphere mixed with it being in Russian makes playing them feel familiar and distant at the same time, no thing in my life has given such a feeling and that feeling is so fucking cool
@@MECHENY935 As an Anomaly player, the game is far from being anything like Tarkov. Is the gunplay realistic? Yeah sure, any game with guns should do them right and make them feel powerful, the jank of guns in the original games just caused frustration. My bullets shouldn't be hitting the 40 meter tall bridge when I'm aiming at the enemy's chest 5 meters away from me. Anomaly is arguably just as atmospheric as the original trilogy, it's gray and brown and ugly but strangely attractive. You can make it look prettier, sure, but if your PC is still using a 1650 like mine and you can't run games high poly textures then the game will look just a tiny bit better than the original games, all you have to do is turn down the graphics while leaving lighting untouched. Anomaly is the perfect base for modding STALKER if you ask me, because you can just play it as vanilla with a handful of tweaks and basically get vanilla STALKER or you can turn it into a poor man's Tarkov. Is Anomaly too easy? Tweak the difficulty. Is Anomaly too hard? Tweak the difficulty. It The game too ugly or too pretty? Tweak the graphics. Not atmospheric enough? Tweak the graphics. The game is so easily changed with just 5 minutes in the menu. It can be a cakewalk with kittens or it can be a masochist's wet dream, it's all about how you decide to enter the game. Play the game like Tarkov? You get Tarkov. Play the game like STALKER? You get STALKER.
I think the biggest issue anomaly has is the stagnation of the mod community relating to it afterwards when it comes to actually adding anything but radiant quests, which is an issue in SoC and parts of CS.@@Valentin_126
I'm only an hour in rn, but I gotta say, I really like how you're going about the whole iceberg format. Going over key concepts and really laying the ground work before going into the more obscure details while still sprinkling in fun asides, most people just kinda list off a bunch of random stuff with varying levels of obscurity. Also, labeling the different tiers as "ranks" with a bit of flavor text feels very thematic. Whole video gives off "satisfying video game progression" vibes.
You've done a great job on your first video, Once I find somewhere permanent to live I'll be treating myself to all three Stalker Games with a view to completing before the new game is released. Keep up the good work and here's a sub to keep you going.
Also, something that I imagine some schizos will take as proof that Professor Sakarov is zombified is his movement animations when he turns hostile. If you go up to the roof of the bunker in SOC and gently toss a grenade while low crouching directly under Sakarov's position below. The blast will half clip through the ceiling and turn him hostile. He'll then proceed to move like a zombie, sharing all the animations that they do. He has no voice lines however, I'd imagine the devs didn't expect you could turn him hostile let alone kill him. You can bait him into pursuing your outside the bunker where you can either shoot his hands when they clip thru the door or toss a few more grenades to finish him off, although if you're looking for free loot he only has a Winchester 1300 and some low level random loot. Personally I don't think this gives the zombie theory any validity. Much like my opinion on the Eternal Camp-fire, I think its just a matter of suspension of disbelief and devs not really thinking about it
most likely it's simply tech issue - either Sakharov gets psy-damage and turns Z-team (if this mechanic existed way back in SoC) or he technically shares some of the animations with zombies, since he's not expected to have any combat encounters maybe it's his normal anims get bugged
@@oscar5175 Id say it was the latter. In no normal event is Sakharov ever expected to even enter a combat state much less actively engage in it. Maybe it was part of an inside joke with the devs?
31:15 A little bit of a correction is necessary here: As you correctly point out, ludonarrative dissonance is when there is a discrepancy between the _gameplay,_ and the narrative. The example you give is just a plot hole, or a plot inconsistency, as both elements come from the narrative (there is still narrative during gameplay, so this can be nuanced). A classic example of ludonarrative dissonance would be the amount of people a player kills vs the way their character is portrayed as heroic/good.
@@rodarollada Most character action games engage in the practice, so yes, that is a valid example. To its credit, Prototype did try to acknowledge _some_ of the senseless killings. The happy go-lucky Nathan Drake-mass murderer extraordinaire-never made too much sense, on the other hand. The Last of Us was Naughty Dog's attempt at bridging the gap between the narrative, and the ludic elements of their games. Obviously, this was all thrown out of the window for the sequel, in which characters acted irrationally, and "off-model."
I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to say, but I am a dev for Dezowave currently, i was not in lost alpha project but I'm in our newest project. And its true we DO still have stalker SDK and we are using it for our project. I personally dont work with it, and thus dont have any say on whether we are ever going to release it, since its not up to me and sadly I cant release it myself. You'd really have to talk to Dez himself to ask about releasing it to public. Please dont send any hate in my way since I'm not in control of this.
Good thing you can be anonymous on YT (at least to Dezowave), cuz otherwise you would be in trouble! Of course, since you're anonymous, you could be just some random guy lying, but eh, there's no way to tell that for sure.
Amazing video, funny seeing the jokes being made after watching for two hours. Also nice when there’s an iceberg video with actual theory’s and joke ones and not just stating facts
Woah. Nice video. Informative and interesting. Just a thing that can give some base info about the game to those who never played it. Liked and subbed.
Played the trilogy and loved them all. Currently playing Anomaly with the OldWorld Addon. Makes Anomaly much more like the OG trilogy. Definitely can recommend it
Stellar video, will definitely check all your current vids, as well as wait for the upcoming ones. As a side note, it was really refreshing to actually listen to someone seethe about Anomaly as opposed to constantly reading it on /sg/. The amount of vitriol pouring out at the mere mention of the superior Stalker experience is nice.
1:35 further expanding upon that I remember a friend told me that in the novelization for CoP everybody knew from day one that Degtyarev was a spy but they decided to play along to see what he was going to do, and when he started helping everyone, keeping the bandits at bay and generally minding his own business people didn't mind it
1:27:28 There are two unique guitars obtainable in Clear Sky without the inventory bug. The regular guitar can be found in the Duty base's stuffed mutant "zoo", and the other guitar is spawned from a fetch quest taken from any Freedom squad leader in the Dark Valley (Taking it from the Freedomer who searches you at either of the Garbage-Valley checkpoints locks you out of completing it and the proceeding sidequests because you can't interact with him to turn it in) with a unique name and description. The 'Monolith rules the world' entry is probably referring to one of false endings in SoC, concerning the ACTUAL monolith (i.e The Wish Granter) or those responsible for it.
Great video, it really is one. I'm glad that finally could watch some decent stalker content. Your video is a bit lacking in technical aspects, but in terms of content, the video was great so keep doing what you do. It's really sad that this type of content has only few hundred views and the crap stuff like anomaly gamma gameplay gets over a million. There are a few issues in the iceberg and I would like to rectify them. 1. Project universal soldier was a project that supposed to create super soldier/creature with supernatural abilities. The reason for that was a creation of soldier that could handle in all environment. The outcome of those experiments are mutants like Controllers, Burers, Bloodsuckers, Pseudo Giants and Chimeras. 2. Stalker mobile was confirmed by GSC as not cannon. Also you don't play this game as random stalker but as Strelok himself. In the game strelok is in military and his goal is to recover a stalker kidnapped by mercenaries. This game also told how Strelok met Ghost and Fang. 3. Final day faction was an faction that did study the zone as you said but also it is worth mentioning that they thought that zone is responsible for the future end of the world. Their goal was similar to Duty witch was destroyment of the zone. In the video you told some interesting theory that final day was a remnant of the clear sky faction. Also it would have a lot of sense why they've become hostile to the zone (seeing how thier friends were slaughtered in thier cnpp ride could change their view on zone). You also said that Ghost could destroy the faction because they've killed fang. Unfortunately previously mentioned Stalker mobile tells that Ghost killed the leader of the Final day faction before he met Strelok and Fang so this excludes.
Excellent video! I pretty much recognised every topic on all the levels (even though I only came to stalker in around 2015) bar a few fucking top notch ones on the last one. When you mentioned wanting to work in a steel mill for the rest of a life as part of non standard thinking, I legit spat out my tea in shock and humour as that's what my current goal of being a apprentice welder/steel cutter is, so now armed with all the knowledge that Zelenksy, Putin and Biden are hiding the Monolith (strangely my fav faction for years) I will now grab my custom Monolith suit and go protect the zone in hopes to train more stalkers for the masons and illuminati while holding back A-Life from becoming real life SkyNet .
The location of Pripyat thing has a pretty straightforward simple anwser; it was changed due to the massive upheavel of the zone caused by the emission at the start of Clear Sky.
1:22:05 hey, I just wanted to make a note on the Pripyat Underground. It IS actually reused in CoP for the Jupiter Underground. It's even called the Pripyat Underground ingame. It may have been scrapped for CS, but it DOES exist. There ARE tunnels under Pripyat. have fun with this information.
Yeah I completely forgot about COP, only when I was almost finished with editing that I remembered the Jupiter underground, but at that point I didn't want to go back and fix it so I left it in, when I make the corrections video I will address this.
it isn't *really* reused as Jupiter Underground only some parts of Pripyat Underground were used in Jupiter Underground (namely a modified version of the big room and some of the tunnels), the rest of JU is completely new
One detail of the Suicide Letter at 2:00:24 is that around the last half of the note the cientific starts to struggle maintaining a choesive redaction, he repeats himself over and over and the letter finishes uncompleted, almost like he can't think straight no more.
Always love me some STALKER stuff and so I put this video in the background as I worked. Got to the very end and ended up confused at the last tier, before I laughed and realized that our narrator had been exposed to too much Psi fields. Ah another one lost to the Zone. Fun video and I learned some new stuff that I haven't encountered before!
I think the Monolith just sits on a huge stockpile of Soviet military surplus. Like, they have found military warehouses or something. Still, that doesn't explain the NATO ammo, though.
@@TheRealRusDaddy The C Con does not have that kind of power, if they could do that they wouldnt depend on ramshackled methods like zombies, mutants and Monolith.
Experienced stalkers, that had some very good gear got turned into monolith, maybe? Since most of the geared stalkers are using nato weaponry this could be an explanation
The "Anomalies and the Zone are influenced by Human Thoughts" is definitely a Master tier, as it not only caught on by the stalker as he encounters the Noosphere concept, but it also draws heavily in one particular scene of Stalker (1979) where the stalker explains to the Writer that the Zone starts to "adjust" based on the conduct of the individual who enters the Zone. This particular scene is in 1:01:46, and the film can thankfully be found in yt: ruclips.net/video/Q3hBLv-HLEc/видео.htmlsi=qXNTrXB_j2IVojl3&t=3706 It's also quite possible that a stalker's thoughts of anxiety affects the chances of anomalies to appear. It would indeed be quite horrific if a stalker who had past fears of electricity suddenly find himself in front of electro clusters that he has to cross to move forward. It's pretty an unnerving feasible theory. I interpret the Zone as a counterpart of nature. If Nature is amoral and indifferent, the Zone is ambivalent; it would either let things be for now, or suddenly change one moment later.
Its so nice to see someone who doesnt really like these western self proclaimed "realistic" mods like anomaly, escape from pripyat or gamma. I played them all and it's a good shooter. But its not stalker... it's zoomer and casual stuff. My first mod and the one i love the most is misery. I also played other stuff like lost Alpha, OP2.2 etc. Good video, i wish you luck on future projects 😊
If Anomaly is too casual you're choosing to play it casually, you have campfire saving only, Ironman which I did and it took 3 months to complete and if you're a real sucker for punishment you can put the prog and ai diff up, with campfire saving and ironman, which has adjustable lives, I'm honestly saddened at how much hate actually resides in the corners of the internet for Anomaly and similar Standalones (not the mod packs, I will say those are actually garbage) considering what it has done to keep stalker as a franchise in the public eye
Are you guys having trouble opening the settings or something? Both anomaly, gamma, and call of pripyat has a lot of customisation, which enables harder/easier and more complex/simple gameplay. I played through the originals and lost alpha as well (god it was buggy), and if you set it up correctly, anomaly(and gamma and COP, but those are jsut more mods for anomaly) can be even better than the original ones. More customisation, more weapons, mechanics, and even better asthetic. Its a lot more polished and immersive. Having to prepare your supply, being careful with the food and things you consume, having to maitain your equippment with proper tools, and having more options for different play styles.
Afaik the "Universal Soldier" was the research program that resulted in creation of some of the mutants in X labs. Don't remember where I know this from, but it makes a lot of sense for the extremely agile bloodsucker with his invis ability for example.
Awesome video, started listening to it while doing busy work in GAMMA before going to bed. I shut down the game, told myself ill listen for 5 more minutes, and then realized that it's 2 AM. Your Anomaly/GAMMA rant did get me thinking though, what makes Stalker, I guess, Stalker? Not sure if that's a good way to word it, but it might be an interesting topic. All of that aside, I can't wait to see your next theory/analysis/explanation/schizo rant.
I mean, Anomaly is the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R I've played. I've began playing back on August 2022 because a friend got it (cause it was free) and streamed it to me on Discord. Then I installed it on my toaster of a PC and ran it, which supprised me, 'cause my computer is a piece of garbage that can barely run the game on Direct9 and it's literally unplayable in Direct10. But after consuming some classic vanilla S.T.A.L.K.E.R content, you can tell a huge difference between the the classics and Anomaly. Not only in graphics but in story too. Still, Anomaly in my opinion is pretty good, but I don't think it's better than the classic trilogy. Still, I only got it because it's free and I didn't want to spend 20 dollar on each S.T.A.L.K.E.R just to play the original, but maybe I'll do it in the future because this franchise is truly interesting and is very different in terms of storytelling than almost every videogame I've ever seen.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is inherently what the developers gave us, what the design documents and builds show, and all the other stuff they wanted to put in. It is the thematic, narrative, interactive, and aesthetic product of all of that. The original trilogy is what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is, and all mods are separate from that. And some mods honour that, like OLR and Gunslinger, and others toss it out the window like Misery and Gamma. While they are related to and products of S.T.A.L.K.E.R., they are still not S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. Simple as.

Why did he say that Anomaly is like Tarkov? It's literally not unless you install the literal Tarkov addon, it's just an in-between of CoC and Misery, but way more stable and moddable
@@manformerlypigbukkit Water to clean off dirt lol? Have you ever repaired a gun IRL? It's tedious and annoying, you have to take the gun apart, clean the parts with oil, clean the barrel with multiple cleaning sticks, and then you have to put it back together. Repairing anything IRL is tedious and time consuming if you want to do it right.
@@Valentin_126 Some people just prefer storytelling games with an interesting plot. OLR or Vector of Alienation gives you the TRUE Stalker experience in those terms, but I think Anomaly (despite all the hype) gives you the TRUE Zone experience, being a nonamed and making you feel so free but small and vulnerable. Personally I enjoy the two coin sides, but being an old man passing the 40s, makes me appreciate a lot the slow paced and realistic ambient of vanilla Anomaly with minor graphic addons and bug-fixes and It's where I spend the most hours ATM (waiting for Stalker 2), but I have to admit that if it's a bit sad to see how a lot of people arrives to Anomaly to turn the Stalker saga into a pseudo-tacticool-Tarkov. Moddb is full of addons like "Tarkov sounds", "Tarkov cigarettes", "Tarkov cheeki breeki", "Tarkov tactical red dot mounted over tactical laser scope with implemented tactical rangefinder" ....PLEASE DAMN STOP 🤣
@@Valentin_126 Why are the game's systems (especially the HUD and getting parts in the first place) genuinely mind-numbing, confusing, and difficult to even understand what you're doing wrong? Why does Weapon Parts Overhaul make your gun lose condition when removing a lower-condition part? I've fixed numerous shotguns (Mostly break-action double barrels and the occasional remington 870) and water has never touched that damn thing. The mod just makes repair too tedious of a process, and saying "hurr durr muh reelism" completely detracts from the actual experience it's giving you. If I wanted to simulate every little annoying thing about repairing a weapon, I'd pull out a gun myself and learn to disassemble it. In STALKER, I'd expect a repair system to go as deep as using the right toolkit for the job, not finding a very specific barrel type on a very specific enemy to marginally improve a shitty gun that jams every 5 seconds. It's not realistic, it's annoying and not fun at all

@@thatgingerguy98-56 I've been playing warfare back in 2016 when it was released and i cant imagine playing stalker without it.

Thats a cool fact

I think the same!
YOU DON'T NEED TO HATE ANOMALY TO LIKE STALKER
🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
so real
That or its about the Movie series

If I want to play a "realistic tactical" shotter I will go play something like Arma or tarkov or insurgency, I don't go to stalker because I want a realistic experience,
That's also why i like the eastern mods more thant the western mods because as yeah as stupid and absurd as some of the quests in mods like ns 2016 or God forbid OP2.2 are at least they are trying to do something original and interesting with the zone and it's strange, alien aspects.

Much like my opinion on the Eternal Camp-fire, I think its just a matter of suspension of disbelief and devs not really thinking about it
most likely it's simply tech issue - either Sakharov gets psy-damage and turns Z-team (if this mechanic existed way back in SoC) or he technically shares some of the animations with zombies, since he's not expected to have any combat encounters
maybe it's his normal anims get bugged
@@oscar5175
Id say it was the latter.

Like Prototype 2?
@@rodarollada Most character action games engage in the practice, so yes, that is a valid example. To its credit, Prototype did try to acknowledge _some_ of the senseless killings. The happy go-lucky Nathan Drake-mass murderer extraordinaire-never made too much sense, on the other hand. The Last of Us was Naughty Dog's attempt at bridging the gap between the narrative, and the ludic elements of their games. Obviously, this was all thrown out of the window for the sequel, in which characters acted irrationally, and "off-model."
@@null_subject I really wanna know what you think about Far cry 3. Since that game "shames" jason and shows him becoming a monster the more he kills.
@@null_subjectthey shot at me first? What am I suppose to do? Tell them to stop?
I simply convince myself there was a freak mutant attack. Really immerse myself in the schizophrenic brain damage of my stalker.
Of course, since you're anonymous, you could be just some random guy lying, but eh, there's no way to tell that for sure.
maybe the GSC guys would send litigation or something if they released SDK
I just want it on Ps5, idc when. I wish it would be on console when it releases for PC
@@uraveragewiteguy no dev kit for playstation so nope sorry
New stalker here. This was incredible. Starting with tourist level info helped so much. Thank you for this amazing video!
Definitely can recommend it
This video is great, kept me entertained from start to finish and is really, really interesting. I can't wait to see your future work
as a former keeper of build 2137, i must thank you for warning others of this funny yet extremely dangerous anomaly.
Where can I find build 2137?
I'm happy you enjoyed the video!, thanks for the info, when I make a corrections video I will make sure to include this.

As a freedomer i can see your Duty biss, but i love it, your one of the nicer dutyers
Shadow of The Zone made me finally cannon ball here. Thank you for the info dump, shout out Wendigoon.
I like how with every other level of the iceberg he gets to he sounds like he is getting more insane.
Excellent video! I pretty much recognised every topic on all the levels (even though I only came to stalker in around 2015) bar a few fucking top notch ones on the last one. When you mentioned wanting to work in a steel mill for the rest of a life as part of non standard thinking, I legit spat out my tea in shock and humour as that's what my current goal of being a apprentice welder/steel cutter is, so now armed with all the knowledge that Zelenksy, Putin and Biden are hiding the Monolith (strangely my fav faction for years) I will now grab my custom Monolith suit and go protect the zone in hopes to train more stalkers for the masons and illuminati while holding back A-Life from becoming real life SkyNet .
this is what happens when someone goes to 4chan instead of a psychiatrist
The location of Pripyat thing has a pretty straightforward simple anwser; it was changed due to the massive upheavel of the zone caused by the emission at the start of Clear Sky.
You know, the post humans remind me somewhat of the Dark Ones in Metro.
Also very nice video mate. Thanks for the hard work!
I always thought "bread" and "guitar" were just item placeholders the NPCs used for their idle animations.
@@MECHENY935 aight all good fam
it isn't *really* reused as Jupiter Underground
only some parts of Pripyat Underground were used in Jupiter Underground (namely a modified version of the big room and some of the tunnels), the rest of JU is completely new
@@letthebasscannon223 yes, I am very much aware, I have seen both. The most significant change is the giant machine in the middle of the room.
Such an incredible job, saving this, you got a new follower
This accent sounds familiar...
This is the first time i watched a 3 hour vid without skipping thanks for that 💎
One detail of the Suicide Letter at 2:00:24 is that around the last half of the note the cientific starts to struggle maintaining a choesive redaction, he repeats himself over and over and the letter finishes uncompleted, almost like he can't think straight no more.
2:37:49 Sir.... respect. I have to bow to your immaculate research.
Great content so far. Really enjoying the video. A new mic should def be on the list though. Lots of audio feedback and echo.
Commenting to help this video get boosted by the algorithm more. Very well made video! Definitely gave me a spark to play STALKER again, so thank you
Thanks for coming out of a teleporter my guy, loved the video.
That part where you were trying to save the guy from the Bandits in Garbage...
That's where you use a knife or shotgun instead of an AR
What a madlad. Earned a like and sub!
Well made video that doesn't have unnecessary scary music as the iceberg gets deeper. Thank you for a well made video.
Do not talk about build 2137 brother
They are not ready
Always love me some STALKER stuff and so I put this video in the background as I worked. Got to the very end and ended up confused at the last tier, before I laughed and realized that our narrator had been exposed to too much Psi fields. Ah another one lost to the Zone.
Fun video and I learned some new stuff that I haven't encountered before!
I think the Monolith just sits on a huge stockpile of Soviet military surplus. Like, they have found military warehouses or something. Still, that doesn't explain the NATO ammo, though.
Could be mass looting as well
Maybe they wished for it
C-con just manifests it for them im fairly sure
@@TheRealRusDaddy The C Con does not have that kind of power, if they could do that they wouldnt depend on ramshackled methods like zombies, mutants and Monolith.
Experienced stalkers, that had some very good gear got turned into monolith, maybe? Since most of the geared stalkers are using nato weaponry this could be an explanation
Amazing vid. Great work. I got to test lost alpha after you kicking other Mode so Hard. But I loved gamma. Was a nice Grind.
Good video, I watched this while at work, Made my day better.
Thx, I'm glad you enjoyed it!.
I play the Old World addon for anomaly with the classic textures, and your right. Anomaly can't compare to the normal stalker's beauty!
"Aged like fine wine" 🍷 😌 👌
The "Anomalies and the Zone are influenced by Human Thoughts" is definitely a Master tier, as it not only caught on by the stalker as he encounters the Noosphere concept, but it also draws heavily in one particular scene of Stalker (1979) where the stalker explains to the Writer that the Zone starts to "adjust" based on the conduct of the individual who enters the Zone.
This particular scene is in 1:01:46, and the film can thankfully be found in yt: ruclips.net/video/Q3hBLv-HLEc/видео.htmlsi=qXNTrXB_j2IVojl3&t=3706
It's also quite possible that a stalker's thoughts of anxiety affects the chances of anomalies to appear.
That damn "FBI OPEN UP!!!" got me badly lmaoo
The Monolith has blessed you comrade with the complete knowledge of the zone! Praise the Monolith Brother!!!
What a nice video. I wonder what he will say at 2:56:22?🧐
🤫
with the ammount of stalker content i've seen im suprised that i actually didnt know many things from this iceberg so good job bro
Simple as.
Amazing video, and thanks for pointing out cool things that I missed in the 3 games
Great video man really informative and easy to follow
A head canon i have is that Lebedev was a sleeper agent for the Group, and knew what would happen when they entered the CNPP, he probably wasn't brainwashed if he joined the C-Consciousness, but rather joined in the hope that they could help the Zone.
Just found out this channel exists, thanks to recommended. This was great, you should definitely make more informational videos!
This iceberg video was kind of a personal sequestration due to it's length, but god if it was good.
Some of the entries were new to me (usually the theories) and you told them in such a funny/interesting way that I can't help to applaud.
Also, I laughed my ass of to the rant in defense of OLR2.5, and I promise (as a vanilla purist) I'll play the shit out of it once I recover from my lower back pain. It will also be my first mod played so, cheers.
Great video, great Stalker, probably Dutier, so I'll drink to you comrade.
Man... Sometimes it amazes me how many things actually happened in my life, which apparently I don't remember until something makes me. I totally forgot about mobile S.T.A.L.K.E.R., even though I have played in it. About dezowave getting SDK I definitely remember it being a thing. I think it was mentioned in their development logs, but that is a hazy memory so perhaps it was mentioned somewhere else. But source was definitely not a 4chan, I haven't even used it
Great Video, would be nice to see the your iceberg picture on video description + captions would be nice too
Otherwise great video, wish you tons of views
This video isnt bad but seeing "op2.2 is freemason recruitment tool" made me laugh way too much.
Love the effort you put into this, i'll be looking out for the next video
We got Stalker definitive iceberg before Stalker 2 🔥🔥🔥 Greetings from Ukraine
Buddy, this is the kind of content I love, keep it coming! Great work!
"overshadowed by some normie reddit or tarkov shit like anomaly" could not agreed more!
Why did he say that Anomaly is like Tarkov? It's literally not unless you install the literal Tarkov addon, it's just an in-between of CoC and Misery, but way more stable and moddable
@@Valentin_126 WHY DOES POURING WATER ON YOUR GUN GIVE A REPAIR BONUS??? WHY IS REPAIRING SO FUCKING TEDIOUS AND ANNOYING??
It's not realistic, it's annoying and not fun at all
I don't know how but auto play helped me stumble into your video and am enjoying it. Keep up the good walk Stalker.
few entries are missing, why are artifacts seen in SoC without detectors, NLC 7 mod artifact "cooking"/creating hasn't been mentioned, you also didn't mention that cut old zombies are called "гражданский зомби" in Russian community, but these are only errors I have been able to spot, otherwise this video is excellent, all of the 2 hours and 57 minutes have been entertaining, will wait for more videos!
I legit had no ideas that the Russian community had a name for the buildo zombies, thanks for telling me, if I make a corrections video I will include this and the other stuff you mentioned for sure! And thanks for watching
I always assumed it was just a neat gameplay idea they came up with later on and didnt really think of explaining it, I honestly miss soc visible artifacts, I never really care to look for em anymore on cop or mods
