Is this based on just the poem or poem and videogame?
It's more about telling a story through a scene and a poem. The game itself is different. The poem was written by a Russian writer who fought in a red army, Konstantin Simonov. It's told from both sides because I believe that's whats most soldiers feel.

The actor who played the kamikaze pilot is the grandson of a real pilot. When he was offered this role, he simply could not refuse. It's part of his family's history.

Just correcting you here but that Japanese pilot was not a kamikaze pilot technically he was just a torpedo bomber pilot
He just decided to became a kamikaze pilot when he had no other choice

PS the russian version is even more dramatic thanks to the russian language and the voice actor.

Hey cool the reaction, thought you guys would enjoy this one. Really love it showing the fact that war does effect both sides since a lot of media just shows only one side or the other.
Oh and a fun little fact the person that played the Japanese pilot had grandfathers that fought in ww2.

Надо больше таких клипов показывать иностранцам-американцам, англичанам, французам, японцам... Что бы знали и представляли, что переживали их деды и прадеды во время Второй Мировой войны. Все хотели жить, никто не хотел умирать. Даже камикадзе в душе надеялись остаться в живых. И невесты, жены и матери одинаково переживали и ждали их во всех странах мира. Так давайте же помнить, как тяжело досталась Победа над нацистами, немецкими и японскими нам в той войне. Мы тогда были настоящими союзниками, друзьями. Нам и сейчас делить нечего! 😊

I've been playing World of Warships since Closed Beta and still play it a lot. While there are certain directions Wargaming have taken it I don't particularly like when it comes to the stuff outside the development of their games, they really deserve a lot of recognition. They have brought attention to some of the best Naval History channels on RUclips to a much wider audience even to the point where World of Warships official Twitch and RUclips host a monthly event called "Arm Chair Admirals" where they go through various naval battles that happened. They have also been at the front of campaigns to help save places like Bovington Tank Museum which has the worlds last running Tiger tank, Tiger 131. The Tank Museum went from very nearly closing it's doors for the last time to being extremely popular and known all over the world. The work they do ensuring history from this dark period of our past is preserved and passed down is invaluable 😊
My first introduction to the video you both reacted to, was a game music video done to Sabaton's "The Last Stand" created by Imrael Productions. This was the first time I've ever gotten the full video, and I couldn't have been happier to watch your reactions. The video was made by Russians. They even had a dedicated team that would supervise that everything, from clothing and props to scenery would be historically accurate.
Japanese kamikaze were not zealots. Many of them were led by social pressure. And those who did not go along would be executed. When war ended, some kamikaze pilots felt out of place because they could not die and they did not know how to face the fact they had to go back home and be received after they departed to be kamikaze. At the time the emperor was like a god. And people would not be kind with the idea of a kamikaze coming back.

As far as in order of request? It’s 108 😲🤯. However we don’t necessarily go in order as a lot of time things get requested on one video only by someone that isn’t a subscriber and never asks for it again. Which is why we ask that you stay on us about it. Because then other people might see your request and ask for it as well. We are also looking into ways to get more reactions out there and what that would entail.

This legendary poem was written by russian poet Alexander Tvardovskij. He was oficer and took part in WWII. Actually he was killed in one of battles against Nazis.
