Love the whole journey, and getting to see where you drive out to find the rocks! Also taking one rock from where it was found on the land to what it looks like after the cut. Beautiful rock and really great scenery - thanks!
That was enjoyable seeing the area you hunt! Both the Lahontan jasper and wonderstone can be subtly beautiful and in your face striking. I liked the capture cut and reveal. Wish more rockhounding channels took time to do this for their field finds that they get excited about. The old soup to nuts treatment. And does everyone have to play background music every time? Sometimes just let the stones speak for themselves. Wait, they literally can't do that. 😅 I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. Sorry for the mini rant.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! I’ve wanted to put one together like this for a bit. I do understand, entirely, haha. One of the things I like about being out there is the quiet. I’ve tried doing videos without any talking, but they don’t tend to do as well. I just got something that lets me wear the camera, so I’m going to try and film more out in the field.
Many years ago I read in the old publications of the Lapidary Journal about Lake Superior Agates. Several years later was in WI for a short visit. Before leaving for CT, stopped in a rock shop & bought a small bag of LSA. After arriving home, looked thru the bag & picked out a couple of ovalish rocks that looked like good prospects. Cut lengthwise near the middle so I could make a couple of slabs. From these, cut 3 cabs which gave beautiful patterns, including a couple of black "eyes". Beautiful cabs. Still have tbem. Never got any.others cut!
Beautiful red patterns against the soft tannish off-white background. Ought to make some Beautiful & Awesome cabachons! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I thought so as well! Thanks for watching!
