And I would not do it again. My wife said why don't you go ahead and do the last 80 miles before you come home so you will have done the Iron Butt. Nope, not interested...went straight home.

    I been riding the Fat Bob 114 for about 3 years now and I love it.. I take it on long rides (12 hrs, a day) and it carves up mountains like a sport bike. It is my daily driver and is set up perfect from the factory. Small tank you get used to quick and those are definitely street tires no matter how they look. I have tried other rubber but nothing hangs onto the pavement like those OEM Dunlops. Just my opinion and experience.

    I just returned from my local dealer and test road the Lowrider S. Being an ex '93 and 94 FXR and '03 Road King owner, I have to admit I was impressed enough that I am considering a purchase. Handling, brakes, suspension, were way better than I had anticipated. The Lowrider checks all the boxes for my 25 year old brain, trapped in a 71 year old body. I don't care for the looks, fat tire, or graphics on the Fat Bob at all. I also currently own an '18 Triumph Speedmaster 1200. I love that bike and will keep it. Nice comparison video, thanks

    Lowrider S is still too traditional boring Harley cruiser.
    The FatBob is very untraditional Harley, super mean looking, much more comfortable to ride than the Lowrider, wider handlebar for better leverage and countersteering in corners, front end feels much lighter and transitions better than the Lowrider, awesome LED headlight, more neutral upright riding position, big fat awesome tires soak up all the bumps and uneven pavement, preload adjustable on the fly..did I say that the FatBob is very Non-Harley and a fresher styling
    And.....those factory gold heat shields, amazing, you can put your hand on them after a ride and just slightly warm is all, no more burnt boot rubber with the FatBob exhaust
    Love my 2021 FatBob

    Bought the fat bob after riding these back to back because it was more comfortable on the 10-15 minute test ride. Regret it 100% after owning it and wish I got the low rider s. 30 mile commute each way to work, gotta fill up on my way home every 2 days. And that super comfortable riding position? Is destroying my tail bone after more than 25 minutes. new seat? Sure, for about $450. Change to mid controls? Sure, for about $800 after buying all the parts for the conversion. Bar change? Never looked into it, because the reason for buying it was comfort, not to spend thousands past the 20k price to get it right.

    I bought a 2021 LRS as my first Harley. As soon as I saw photos of the 2020 model year pop up I knew I'd have one in my garage. I didn't think it would be so soon. Inverted front forks, dual disc brakes, a ton of torque, and that beautiful all black finish were just a few reasons I picked it. The Fat Bob looks amazing, just not my cup of tea. As someone that went from a Yamaha R3 as my first motorcycle, to the monster that is the LRS, I could not be happier with my choice of first Harley. Being someone that is used to leaning the bike over from my small cc supersport, the LRS feels absolutely fantastic on a twisty road. As for comfort, I'm not sure why so many people say mid controls are uncomfortable. The LRS has a fantastic factory seat, bar position and foot controls. Within a week I put 700 miles on the bike, with a 250 mile trip one day. Yes, I am excited to have the engine guard installed that has rubber foot holds to stretch my legs once in a while, but mid controls are the only way I'd go.
    Awesome content as always mate. Cheers and ride safe.

    I absolutely love the Fat Bob look! But I ended up buying the Low rider S for the larger tank and classic look. I chose black for the color because I felt the crimson was too muted and did nothing to add to the look of the bike. It just didn't pop in my opinion. In my perfect world I would have lost my head for the midnight Blue, but it was not to be (sigh)...

    I bought the Low Rider S. I personally like how I sit on it more. Especially with the handlebars. I've put 2,200 miles on it this month and can't complain one bit. I wanted a bike that would let me pull into the turns with ease. After driving the Fat Bob I did notice a slight need to counter steer more than I did with the Low Rider S and when I'm just driving along that comfort mattered to me. Plus Mid controls on that bike made the sale. I'm one of those people that don't need to change much and don't want to have to change it. I just want to enjoy the ride. Also I hated the look of the pipes and where they were positioned on the Fat Bob. That was my main complaint with it. The bigger tank on the Low Rider S definitely made the sale that much easier

    The fat Bob is the performance soft tail. Should come with mid controls that Harley offers as a new option. Also, sport performance tires should be on the fat Bob. If Harley would use some aluminum and carbon fiber, weight could be below 600 pounds which would help acceleration, braking, and handling. I love the Fat Bob. Almost bought one but went with a KTM Super Duke 1290r. TFT dash, stability control with IMU Standard with TC/ABS. 180 horsepower/104 pound feet torque, 460 pounds.

    My choice in bike was a bit hectic. Right after I passed the Harley New Rider Course, I went in to see the stock at my local dealerships once. Then I found a manager's special on the 2021 Fat Bob I was eyeing on the pre-owned stock online. Another guy test drove it, and left as soon as he saw me talking to a salesman about the bike. Came back the next day, the same guy came in an hour after me, and another guy came in after him. I didn't want to let this Billiard Red Beast go so I beat them to the signing line. It was hard buying a bike just to test ride it, but since then, I have no regrets, LoL!! Fat Bob with the fat front tire, adjustable monoshock, and futuristic headlight FTW!!

    • @w_419
      @w_419 2 года назад

      @@FireZAT88 My recommendation when choosing a bike especially if its your first bike is to test ride them all, my dad told me when I started shopping for a bike "its the bike that chooses the rider, not the rider that chooses the bike." So I test rode a lot of bikes and ended up getting a street bob as my first "starter" bike and I could not have been happier, although I test rode several others and that one just felt right to me. The one thing I will say is dont get suckered into buying a street 500 or 750, although they are not bad bikes by any means they dont pack much power and once you get comfortable riding youll want to upgrade to a bigger engine, any of the sportsters are awesome picks, and the softal slims as well as the fatbob and street bob are great choices as well but ultimately it will be up to you and what feels right.
      Hope any of this helped and im super excited for you to start riding and be part of the community. Stay safe out there brother and keep both wheels on the ground. ✌

    My friend bought the 22 lowrider S and I bought the 22 Fat Bob. They are both amazing bikes but for me I liked the aesthetics and riding position of the Fat Bob so thats why I bought it. The Lowrider S is beautiful and classic and the Fat Bob has a more unique look. I am absolutely in love with my Fat Bob purchase and would do it again. However, the 22 Lowrider S now comes with a 117 motor which I am a little jealous of but overall I will again and again choose the Fat Bob. Personal preference is huge when it comes to selecting a motorcycle and I fell in love with the Fat Bob.

    I have a 2019 FXLR, it's a good motorcycle. But I test rode a Fat Bob, and it's a very good handling motorcycle. I don't really like the beach bars on the Fat Bob, with some 10" risers or pull backs would give it a badass look. I'll vote for the Fat Bob.

    Brand new rider, here. I’m buying my first bike in the beginning of May and I’ve never been so torn between two things in my entire life. The Fat Bob is what first brought me to Harley Davidson. I absolutely love the Bobber, Mad Max look of it! I haven’t seen anything else like it. But then I started digging a bit more and saw the Low Rider S in the new sand Pearl white paint job and fell in love in love with it as well! The Bob is definitely a head turner, but the LRS has the bigger tank and the 117. I highly doubt I’d notice much, if any, difference as a new rider, but I simply can’t decide. Help me!

I wish my Twin cam 88 was carborated instead of injection because it definately sounds better but all in all the Lowrider is my favorite next to the 1982 Sturgis.

    3.6 gallon tank just plain sucks. Factory forward controls just plain sucks. Reminds me of the FXDR (another failure from HD). How can you put forward controls on a sport oriented motorcycle?
    The LRS wins in every category and still remains true to what a performance cruiser should be. The only personal thing that I do not like about the LRS is the high console on the tank. Looks a little to metric.

      Hey bro. When I purchased my 2018 fatbob there was no lowrider. I put a round light and skinny rim to make it a LRS before Harley manufactured it in 2020. Some people modified their bikes before Harley made the huge cash grab and released the FXLRS.

      If you want a bike easier to control and maneuver you might wanna go with the Low Rider! The skinnier tire makes it easier to get in an out of corners! And they both have the same suspension in the front! Both inverted forks!

  • @tatemartishius8631
    @tatemartishius8631 3 года назад +1

    Which one would you say is better in corners and handling overall? Some people have told me the fat bob is better, while the low rider s seems to have some pride in its agility (according to the Harley website). So I’m just curious as my daily commute is a somewhat windey canyon

    • @andy_cowperwood
      @andy_cowperwood 4 месяца назад

      According to the tech. They both have the same fork angle - 28 degrees. It is cool as for the handling. But Fat Bob has R16 fat front tyre against thinner R19 in Low Rider. That’s we can conclude that Low Rider feels himself better on twisty roads. In steeper turns, the Fat Bob will be asked you to stand straight more than the Low Rider because of the fat tyres.
