Totally agree, having a mentor can shorten your learning curve when striving to reach a goal. The best part is that you can access people over skype, youtube, linkedin now days. Before internet really became the norm you had to know someone or just work hard and find out for yourself.

Meteor 2018 (2022) I was able to gain my first mentor, who is what I call “my industry mentor”. I’ve been following his work for quite some time now and truly admire his journey coming from a different country to the states. With barely any knowledge of speaking & writing English, succeeding tremendously through a 15 year time span.

Agreed. This seems like it can be somewhat challenging depending on a person's field. Also I wonder does this person need to be known officially as a "mentor" or is it possible that multiple people can fill this roll, just unbeknownst to them and for various attributes of that person.

I recommend watching courses about what you need to learn for your dreams instead, this channel is great. They tell you what habits you need to loose and such, they help you won’t help you actually get there. Why do you think they stuck into making videos with the amount of knowledge they have about business? Don’t get off track from your dreams. A mentor can kill your decision making skills because you basically run to them if something hard comes up. Elon Musk doesn’t even have a mentor.

i just asked someone to be my mentor. The mentor was a marketing executive who did not get her education in business/marketing related field. She agreed, and i am quite nervous for our first meeting.

YOU can read books of Tony Robbins, listen to his audio cd's in your car, watching youtube motivation films... so make sure you spend 90 minutes a day with Tony!😁 after a few weeks you think like Tony... and finally you can go to his seminars and meet him.👊🏻👍🏻😄

Wow. This video is so correct. I wish I had a mentor decades ago. I would have saved years and money by not making mistakes that a mentor would have called me up on.
One caveat to a mentor - if you have one in your work, they will always be thinking of the business you work for so ideally you want a mentor independent of the company you work for.

I would like to have a mentor but I’m afraid that it is not as popular where I live. Usually in our place those people who agrees to train younger people ask for money in return and like what you said a true mentor wouldn’t ask money just to share their knowledge. I'm not sure if I realize I have a mentor cause my store manager normally gives me advice, calls me out on what I'm doing incorrectly and etc then another associate and I'm the youngest as others are over 27. So I'm like did he bring me under his wing cause I was hired some reason 20 yr old and had no work experience for a job that required at least a year of experience. I also asked him if he needed anything done etc.

I have a mentor that have opened to me new business paths I haven't seen and always advice me to on the steps I am going to make and how business is working and what I should know in order to succeed. He advices me the knowledge I need to acquire which I immediately learn whenever he tells me to and back me up financially because he believes in me. The problem is that he hasn't gone through what I am going through at the moment. But he worked in an institution and he dealt with similar businesses to what I want to do. Does that qualify him to be good mentor to me?
