I don't get why gamers hate this one. I absolutely loved this game as a kid and I still do. I rented it all the time and I bought it with a month's worth of my allowance. I think it may be the best Star Fox game yet. It's not the same Star Fox that we all know. But so what?! They tried something different and created a unique and beautiful world. And you actually explore this world in detail rather than just flying through it. You travel on foot and see all the details and imagination that was put into it. The graphics are great too. And beating up dinosaurs was real fun. It's sorta like Star Fox combined with Zelda. How could you go wrong? I still think that Star Fox 64 is the best of all of them, and I'm sure a lot would agree. But Star Fox Adventure deserves a better reputation amongst gamers.
There are a number of reasons why they don't like this one. I have listed both pros and cons below: Pros: 1. Probably the best graphics seen in both StarFox AND games of this era. You can see Fox's individual hairs, for cry'n out loud. 2. The hottest StarFox character ever, Krystal, is first introduced. Too bad she was only playable in the beginning, and without her staff. :( Cons: 1. The game and story line was cheesy and childish. Very few games with such story lines tend to be popular or re-playable. If this game had some good game play dynamics to make up for the bad story line, like in the case of Jet Force Jemini, it would be more re-playable. 2. I agreed with Fox when he asked about his blaster. The only held weapon he had on the ground was that blasted staff, and its abilities weren't that impressive. He rarely went into his Arwing, and the Landmaster was nowhere to be seen. As for Tricky, his only way to fight was with his flame breath. 3. Fox did not act professional at all. He was always whining, his intros to the bad guys were lame, and he even asked Peppy to call the General even before the assigned mission was done. Peppy and Slippy were a bit annoying, too. Jeez, Peppy! At least let Fox have a moment with the hot babe in the diamond thing. Arrgh! 4. This game is just a StarFox version of an unrelated Rare game called Dinosaur Planet. It was never completed or released. At least the newer version of Krystal looked better than the original. 5. The bonuses big time sucked. The only one I was interested in was the game's jukebox. If they had unlock-able weapons, the Landmaster, and some ways to make Tricky much more useful, then I would have been happy. 6. Some of the challenges were ridiculously hard. The ones I really hated was the strength contest and the spirit's fear test. I literally had to watch this video just to see what Fox was seeing during the fear test because I was too busy watching that stupid gauge. 7. The foreign movie cliche' thing. I can't stand foreign movies because I have to spend more time reading the captions then watching the movie to understand what is up. They should keep this out of games, at least.
***** Hehe, true...but, hmm... ^^; It's a good game I think, but somewhat boring...maybe because they just used the Ocarina of Time formula. The combat is also a bit boring I think. He is kinda stiff.
“Yooooou pay this much” “ok I’ll sell to you!” That line brings me so many memories of me starting at the lowest and slowly going up because I was stingy as a 10 year old.
I agree, but have two complaints about the game overall. 1) I really would like a hard mode, or some means of replay value other than the normal mode. 2) The final boss sequence is a huge disappointment. I really wanted that General Scales fight, rather than having that be a joke right before a fight I've already played (at that point) in two games countless times before this. They went through all of this effort to make something new and magical, yet threw that all away for that joke and an unnecessary/unwanted homage.
Super Paper Mario got the same kind of thing because it was too different from its predecessors, but it was a good game, underneath its bright colours was one of the darkest storylines ever in a Mario game. Sticker Star is where they really screwed that series up :( As for Star Fox, this is the only SF game I ever owned, as I never really liked rail-shooter type games. I prefer more adventure.
I still got this game and I would play it again, love it so much. I'm also a huge Zelda fan but this is unique. It was difficult and sometimes scary for me when I was a kid! Miss those times. GameCube should have been considered more, it's underrated
yeah me too! I would play it over and over. It brings so much nostalgia to watch this. Agreed, specially the Test of strength against the lightfoot was such a struggle for me
Dear Nintento, Please release this game in HD alongside Assault. You could fix all its problems while you're at it, including the voice acting and a certain unfinished boss battle. Thank You, The fans.
Or make a second adventures (though unlikely) where scales tries to get revenge or something, what I'd really like is an HD release of assault with online multiplayer
Nostalgia! I got this game as christmas gift from my dad in 2003 I was 14 years old it was one of the best games I've ever played and one of the better ones on Gamecube, the beautiful warm colored graphics I just loved it. It was kind of hard for me to understand what to do so it took me a long way to progress through the games got stuck on many parts but I love adventure games and Gamecube had so many good games that made my childhood great.
johnlewisbrooks lmfao same although this game is fucking boring I played half of it and deleted the file I made fun of him when ever he got the item I said when the booty is this big you know his hands all up high
I really wish Nintendo would get off their asses, buy back Rare, and make another Star Fox game like this one that has Fox get shot down in space, have him crash land on a planet no one has ever known about in the Lylat system, and have the game be more on the survival side of things (Also, Nintendo, if you're going to use this concept, I need to be in the credits of the multiple endings :P).
Ryan Sparker I'm usually a big Star Fox fan (Star Fox 64 is one of the best games I ever played, but honestly, I really enjoyed Star Fox Adventures. Sure, it felt nothing like a Star Fox game, but even so, I had a lot of fun with the game, played through it like multiple times and is still one of my favorite childhood games, but yeah, I can maybe see why it was considered the black sheep of the series
Ryan Sparker By buy back Rare, I mean not to make another game like this, I mean stuff like Conker's Bad Fur Day and Banjo Kazooie. Rare, despite working with Nintendo the kid friendly company, Rare targeted more mature audiences. If kid's play GTA V, they should be able to play a Rated M game on the Wii U. Rare could help the Wii U become a popular console, better financial gain, better games. The survival aspect of the new Star Fox could open it up to more people, yet they'd still keep a lot of Star Fox aspects. Not too much story like Star Fox Command, just right.
Not sure why, but back then i was obsessed with this video as a kid. I’d used to get up every morning just to watch it, and kept notes of the time stamps to continue my last viewing session. I’ve probably seen this video about 4 times, and despite the length, I never got bored.
god i love everything about this game. i find it really fun and i absolutely love the scenery in all areas of dinosaur planet, the soundtrack is just as amazing
Same here but that music really makes me happy, but sad all the same, I remember my young days hearing it. The carefree days when the world seemed exciting and a new adventure every day...😥 miss those days...
When I used to play this like when I was 6 or 7 I saw the graphics as 4k in my mind but now I see them crappy but i don’t care still one of the best games in my opinion and best game from my childhood besides sonic heroes, power rangers dino charge, wario ware inc, mario party 7 and top gun.
Mari H OMG me too, My dad played this for me when i was 6 years old. Now i'm 11 and My dad sold The game when i was 10. I was too scared to play The game then, but i think this game is so cool and i could play this now. WHY DID MY DAD SELL IT FOR FOOKS SAKR
I really want a star fox adventures 2, or something similar to this. I love being able to use Fox like this and traverse the world/space. If they can have a good mixture between space and ground exploration it would be fantastic for both old and new star fox fans.
There were so many good ideas in this game that just didn't pan out very well when put together... it's really a shame. This was a really good luck at the game, i think, thank you for uploading this.
This game was so unique when it came out. I remember being used to games like Mario and Call Of Duty but this was a new beast all together. I got stuck on it near the end near the 7 hour on this video and never finished it since my step brother accidentally deleted all our gamecube data but atleast i'll still have my memories! :)
best game ever 💜 the storyline, the graphics absoloutley fantastic. if it wasnt for this game i would of never of liked nintendo.. i love nintendo so much because of this game
That's because you're a pussy who can't aim. Dude I've beaten every single Halo game on Legendary. Gamertag Life and Reality for proof. or i can send you messages of my glory. Learn to Snipe and Aim and play games that require high accuracy and you won't have a problem.
There are 8 cheat tokens in the game. 4 activate cheats and the other 4 look into fox's future. Locations of the wells are: Thorntail Hollow, Ice mountain, Snowhorn Wastes, Moon Mountain Pass, Lightfoot Village, Volcano Force Point, Ocean Force Point, and Cape Claw. I noticed you got all the wells except the one in Cape Claw. The trick is that its hidden pretty good but here's how to get to it. 1. When you get the portal opening device, use it to unlock the door to the cannon. 2. Take the cannon and aim right under where the wooden platform is, when you first enter Cape Claw. 3. Fire long enough to reach under the platform and the opening to the well, will be revealed. 4. Swim across to, then under the platform and you'll see the well to get the last token.
Ya know... I did really enjoy this game when I was younger... and now looking back on it... It wasn't a bad game. The game play looks good, and the story isn't bad, and the world is a lot of fun to explore.... but.... the dialogue is SOOO bad that it almost makes it hard to watch. Lol.
Good thing many people hated on this game so it keep the game from being in high demand and in high price, when in reality the game is actually pretty good. That helps for many people who want to try the game without breaking their wallet unlike many other Nintendo exclusives where prices can go high.

Funny how people are saying it's a copy of Zelda. Yes it has it's elements, but doesn't all games have that these days? What are people bitching about. And these days people compare games to Dark Souls.... mindfuck
This game fills me with nostalgia every time i see or hear it. But then I get really sad because we got this instead of Dinosaur Planet. Eh, close enough.
ive just lost someone very very very important to me. my cat had been run over. RIP my baby 💟❤ and for some reason this game is the only reson i can get through it. its like my lucky charm 💟😊
I remember when I played this a few years ago, I destroyed the wall behind the waterfall. I walked in, went over to the bard window, and looked out it. It was cool, I loved it. Then I heard some weird high pitched voice say "Haha, you're in the cave!" I have three siblings and none of them were in the room when I played. I tried to get this to happen again but haven't had any luck. Has this happened to anyone else?
I got interested in this game a couple years ago. I tried so many times to get past the Lightfoot strength test. I tried rapidly pressing A and it didn’t work out. I’ll try different methods of passing it in the future. The same thing also has to be done with the Krazoa Test of Strength. Update: I’m now buying a turbo controller to get those tests done.
I came to realize, in a way this game is a similar gameplay style to Super Mario Odyssey, whereas it’s adventure and exploration with treasure and combat, and the Arwing has nearly the same function as the Odyssey airship.
I think this is a good game. I don't mind it being an action-adventure RPG, but if I were to change one thing, it would be that Fox would use his blaster instead of a staff. I can't suspend my disbelief far enough that Fox would choose a stick over a gun. I know it's basically just a rewrite of the unreleased Dinosaur Planet game, but at least it would feel closer to an actual "on-foot" Star Fox game while still keeping the puzzles and mystery themes. Like the Metroid Prime games, if you will.
this is the greatest star fox game i played ( others are crap ) but thos water physics doh xD but for real this is the best game i played when i was a kid
Remember that this is the final Rareware title for a home console, and that Microsoft fully bought Rare *one day* after it was released in North America.
Such a shame what they did to Dinosaur Planet. You can see how much work Rareware put into this project- it was going to be their thesis project- pushing the N64 to its limits. And honestly- the graphics hold up pretty damn well for its age.
I don't get why gamers hate this one. I absolutely loved this game as a kid and I still do. I rented it all the time and I bought it with a month's worth of my allowance. We need this game to have a sequel, amazing game,
Ian Burke assault wasn't really a sequel. Assault stuck with the formula that made starfox popular. Adventures didn't stick to that formula at all.

I came to realize, in a way this game is a similar gameplay style to Super Mario Odyssey, whereas it’s adventure and exploration with treasure and combat, and the Arwing has nearly the same function as the Odyssey airship.
this is a awesome game
right??

Thanks for the upload, been looking for one like this for quite sometime now. thank you. :)
I remember hating those lighfoot dinosaurs and their stupid tests
Memories...
Thank you for playing this game so that I never have to.
I find Tricky very cute! And awesome that he can breathe Fire!
I never knew you could burn the fallen RedEye to death, I always just ground pounded a second time
thank you for uploading this 😃
Prince Tricky reminds me of Dug from Up! Anyone else think so?
What I like the most of this game is that Fox behaves more like a real mercenary.
I had no idea you could haggle! :O
I played this game and loved it but I never could get past dragon rock
3:36:45 is when you realized that you can't play this game with your parents in the room. XD
I still like this game :)
also, Falco sounds TOTALLY RADICAL in this game XD
this is the greatest star fox game i played ( others are crap ) but thos water physics doh xD
but for real this is the best game i played when i was a kid
omg i love this game i still remember this game 💕
Remember that this is the final Rareware title for a home console, and that Microsoft fully bought Rare *one day* after it was released in North America.
7:06:13 The actor of the thorntail and the music that plays really sounds sad. It made me shed some tears from the music
Such a shame what they did to Dinosaur Planet. You can see how much work Rareware put into this project- it was going to be their thesis project- pushing the N64 to its limits. And honestly- the graphics hold up pretty damn well for its age.
