Leo Nerfed?

- Tekken 8 underwent an early patch where they addressed things that were unintended but also things that were deemed unproper, Leo fell into this category as they changed a few of Leo’s strings which appeared to be nerfs, let’s take a look and see if they truly are worthy of being deemed nerfs

to be honest leo is a nice all round char like they should be.. no clear cut weakness and no over powering strength , just how i like it. i dont want a leo thats as strong as julia in t7 . i want a char i can play thats strong but not flat out busted or pay to win. leo is a true tekken character in my opinion
I main Leo and to be fair he has some busted moves that probably need toning down. His 50/50 at the wall will actually kill you. Like for instance FC df3 with Heat Burst into wall combo will take like half HP. That combined with his deadly wall splatting mids are just insanity.
Her damage is busted the combo damage is her clear strength
@heyitsameyourdad4084 il try that. Leo has always been string at the wall, she had the most safe mid walls splats in tekken 7 of any other character
Fatalis made a video about i12 mids as an option select vs b11+2. Characters with CH i12 mids are especially problematic.
Leos b1,1+2 is trash now there’s no way around it.
Some i12 mids get crushed by bok stance and launched
After I saw you do 3 b3, 1s against Joey Fury until it connected I knew that move was gonna get an examination. Honestly Leo didn't catch too many strays this patch, no character really did. I wonder if the game is "ready" for the first major/ TWT event.
I had the same thoughts about b11+2. I'm definitely gonna see way more bok2 counter hits. Some characters are gonna be able to punish it in way more threatening ways than others but for the most part, I think putting a gap there is good for the mind game
despite the nerfs, i still genuinely believe Leo is one of the most well rounded characters on the roster, doesn't have any real weakness

Leo has dogshit tracking and low end combo damage, that is leo's weaknesses.
@@QuintessenceHD that simply isn’t true my friend, I spent a good amount of time in the lab, and you can very reliably get 80+ damage on Launchers even without counter hits, the damage and wall travel is legit one of Leo’s biggest strengths
Hopkick and df2 can still give you high 60’s/ low 70’s too, which is also very good 👌
Although yes, quite a few moves are lackluster with tracking
I love Leo, my favorite char. But let’s be honest she’s mid af and a million miles from top tier
He's still super strong, just unexpected he actually got a nerf

Leo is still my favorite character. I fought a good Leo after the nerfs and that Leo put the hurting on me

Pog castlevania. I think these are buffs because it creates incentive to interact with Leo. Before there wasn’t a good reason to.
I find b1,1+2 to still be one of my favorite move. The delay, bok cancel and all, its still a very reliable tornado option in combos and it also gives a very clean wall splat when ending combos near walls. It will connect when b14 would not!

Or you can be Jin and just parry or counter every option Leo has. Jin and Feng are basically impossible to face if they know what they're doing and they understand what Leo can do. You have to switch to a defensive style and just hope to punish or whiff punish or get some kinda lucky counter hit. Don't know any other matchup like that in the game.
Bruh you never have to worry about the parries when you have the low kit of leo.

@@Shoutenkou-1 on block +7 on hit and jails, can go into crouch dash for a mix or just using standing moves at +7
f24 isnt even op or that good of a move. like its a decent move especially since it also has some tracking to leos weak side, but far from anything that needs a nerf
also hitconfirmable with lightning glare, and very easy at that. Leads to a huge wallsplat near the wall complimenting leos already very strong wall game

I wish they would change d1 back to a ch launcher and d2 back to a ch knockdown.
Having to wait all the way for 21frames to poop out a safe mid ch launcher is way too slow.
Even at +9 you can't even safely frame trap into a safe mid ch launcher.
Not fair they took Leo's d1 ch launch away when it wasn't an OP move or anything. But at the same time Jin f4 and the whole character is way better and he got back his super easy conversion.
I love landing d2 on hit and having my followup d2 sidestepped🤣🤣
B 1,1+2 is unusable now except combos. People can just d4 it, it beats every option. But what is even worse is b1 is the same -12 like wtf. Lili for example has glide 1,2 and glide 2,3+4 all faster, same reach mid mid all safe and catch sidestep. Can someone explain why some are safe some not? And why are people saying b3,1,2 is hit confirmable? The 2 is not confirmable? The mind game doesn’t exist if you can just hit leo out of stance.
D4 leaves your opponent at -4 after using, the situation is very much in you favour after that if they opt for that, the real problem is i12 mids that hit every option
Why would they try to nerf leo, if anything he needs buffs lol

Wouldn't go that far. A good character for sure but not great. It does make sense that the b1 2 got nerfed. It was a fantastic move amid a bunch of not so great moves. Leo is supposed to be a good all rounder, though. Works fine in that regard.
Can i dickjab instead of generic low? This char has confused me since t7 so i dont really know which options to lab

I think its just so frustrating to get knowledge checked for half your hp and then be at disadvantage. I wish they'd raise the max health so i have time to adjust. Matches feel like a coin flip at this point
