I went to Spain once, in 1994, long before the snazzy new Terminal 4 complex was built at MAD. International flights (from the USA) arrived and departed from the brutalist concrete crescent shaped terminal with 6 trapezoidal piers, each with 2 jetties. I flew in and out of MAD on a TWA 747 that year.
Beautiful aircraft - thought the clouds would never end - at one stage thought we were getting to London by escalator and underground - loved the no music and talking format - great video Noel
Yay i need this one, i've been walking outside way too much since i left England and i got to my room early at 7pm and just sat here, usually i only go out for an hour or two at home but here i'm out 8 hours a day
This is so relaxing for me to watch!! I've been following your channel for some time now, and I have been watching almost all of your videos! Your channel is a gateway for me to relax and study (I get relaxed by the engine's sound with the background noise) Thank you so much for keep on uploading such beautiful videos. Thank you from a future pilot in Copenhagen!!
Hi (Hej :)), thank you so much for your lovely comment! Great to hear that you enjoy the videos! I love Copenhagen, I've been a few times. Tusind tak :D
Finally, it stops at 43:00. Let's hope it doesn't start up again. I'm looking forward to hearing this airplane with the headphones and speakers on. That gives it more of an "open" sound since the sound is so monoaural. Yes, it comes in both ears, but it's still not that nice, wide open sound you'd get from a Panasonic. You did a great job capturing those engines, though.
Will fly IB3166 this coming X'mas. Love the jet bridge with glass walls, it provides a panoramic view of the fuselage, which would definitely make a good photo.
Modern, beautiful airport! Thanks for the tour. Also, it's always a pleasure to see the lush green rolling fields of England this time of year. Thanks for another great video!
Madrid is a beautiful airport. Glad you liked it :) Living in the UK I guess we get used to the green fields, it just means we get a lot of rain haha :)
Gran video, felicidadez de nuevo, seguimos difrutando de los vuelos, hasta el proximo, saludos y buen vuelo Great video, congratulations again, we continue to enjoy the flights, until the next, greetings and good flight
"The rain in spain flies off the plane" I miss the majestic A346's - we have 3 pristine machines just parked between the runways at ORTIA, all in white having no place in the current fleet but not wanted by any other airlines, looking sad and forlorn, such an undeserved state for these hard working marvels of engineering, aeronautical works of art which were launched in SA with such hype and fanfare, I actually worked on the media campaign announcing the shiny new aircraft at SAA, we haven't seen hype like that since Concorde visited and now they are just parked indefinitely.
Well, it starts up again at 39:29 or there abouts. I haven't determined when it sstops, but I am beginning to wonder if it's coming from the PA system, but it's hard to tell. It started just after the Flight Attendant hung up her mic after speaking English.
Interesting how you refer back to the computer information about where you are in and your flight path. Obviously flying out over Bilbao and the Bay of Biscay and then parallel to the French West coast that looks out on to the Atlantic Ocean.
The pasta dish looked really good, nice to add in the food you are served as part of the longer video. Another great full flight. I still love the A340-600, not the -300 though, looked like an incredibly long take off run. I will be in Madrid next weekend to fly the LATAM 787-9 !
It was delicious! Really enjoyed it! And yes a very long takeoff run, the engines spoiled up and it felt like there should be more power, but it never came! We were almost empty too! Have a great flight on the 789 :)
I have had the exact same take offs before on the A340-600, very long take off roll and then a very slow climb out, I know the A340 climbs much slower than any twin, but its still a strange feeling.
@@Whenitraveltheworld It's my understanding that any quad (not just A340) are slow climbers. They don't need as much available thrust as twins (in case of an engine failure, a twin must be fully controllable on just one) so they climb slower.
It finally stops at around 35:10. It's not just the sound system inside the airplane, either, because you can hear other sounds going backwards as well. Gosh. I feel so bad for you.
The flight was more or less completely empty. They use the A340-600 as there is a lot of cargo from South America to the UK, using Madrid as the hub, so they need the cargo space :)
SavvyAndi yes because it is a high demand flight, the concept is already developed in Asia where have used a 777 to make flights of 30 minutes or 1 hour
Oh I know now what BIG BEN AIRWAYS was talking about. It actually starts playing backwards at around 21:28. It seems to be going on for nearly ten minutes. I'd hate to ask you to redo parts of this video, but if it's this way, and it can't be fixed, I'll just mark that as an unplanned LSD trip or something like that. Hahaha. Bless your heart.
Hey Heather, yes unfortunately I had to reverse some of the audio as Iberia play horrible music on boarding that gets copyright flagged and resulted in them blocking the video. I got 9 copyright hits on this video that blocked the video from playing in almost every country. I could either mute the audio or reverse certain parts, but with reversing it allowed me to keep at least the engine noise. Thankfully they stopped the music just before takeoff.
Oh I see now. I'd rather hear those engines, too. So it was no accident. What a drag that you got those violations. I hope that'll still work for you, because it works for me. Perhaps they could just play musac, but that could also result in violations? Things have gotten so rediculous! Who's going to try to record or bootleg that music off the video?
It's pretty annoying and a constant problem with some airlines. KLM and Jet2 like to play their music too, nothing is more annoying than spending hours editing a video and uploading to then get it blocked because they played a few seconds of boarding music :(
It's so ridiculous. Why can't they just let you make a blanket statement that you take no credit for the background music for heaven's sake? Oh yeah. They would have to pay the artists whose music is playing. They don't see that man was not made for the law but that the law is made for man to sufficiently abide. I feel sorry for you.
It's a shame that the 747 isn't used any more, I love the Prat and Whitney engines a whole lot better as they were a lot quieter in flight, GE aren't the same
nunca me hubiera imaginado que encontraría a alguien que haría tres horas y medias de video con un vuelo. Es de locos y es maravilloso. Amo los aviones. Una pregunta, por que la música suena al revéz? es como si cantara para atrás y me causa impresión.
This is the first time I've ever heard those engines up close like that, and do they sound marvelous. I almost said "yummy", but I had second thoughts. Hahahah. I had no idea that the A340-600 had four engines. I guess that's not a plane that's as much in use today. Do the A350s have two or four engines? I know the A380s have 4.
Hey man! Another great video with a HUGE aircraft on a 2 hour flight. Can you please go to Saint Maarten? Well, next Friday's full flight will be the DHC8 from Birmingham to Glasgow :D Did you know that I track like 5-15 flights every weekend since I don't fly that often every year? I'm tracking flights from Manchester to Stockholm to Hong Kong and back with SAS.
Hey Branden thank you :) SXM is on my bucket list but not sure when :( Perhaps when I've made a million on RUclips, so you'll be in for a wait haha :) Yep next Friday is BHX-GLA :). And it's great that you track flights, keep an eye on my Facebook page I usually put tracking links up when I'm flying, next flights are in 2 weeks :)
On a note here, if an airport is fogged in, medium to heavy, what is the distance allowed for the crew to safely take off ??.....Does the pilot make that determination whether to leave, when he is in the plane, or is it up to the ATC in the tower ??.....How about severe weather, can the pilot make that last minute decision while he's on the taxiway before heading to the runway ???
The particular airlines and aircraft prescribe 'minimums' but it is ultimately down to the flight crew who make decisions based on company and industry standards determined by factors like weight, destination AC type etc. Modern airliners are equipped for severe conditions in approach and departure, decisions are made when filing the flight plan initially, only extreme conditions like wind shear or sudden weather changes would cause ATC or crews to abort or divert

The reverse thrust helps slow down the plane but it’s the speed brakes that really do the work normally. We typically hear the reverse thrust because it helps to slow down the plane but also it helps to cool down the brakes. However, on a wet or contaminated runway, the reverse thrust could be the only thing that would help you slow down. The reverse thrust has basically three the temp values. Idol reverse thrust, which is what you usually hear, 70% reverse thrust, which is used if the runway is partially wet or has some slippery spots used especially during winter operations, and then there is for reverse thrust which is used when it rains or when the runway is absolutely drenched. I hope it helps.

Ah hah! From one airplane lover to another, I love both your and inflight's videos, so it's really nice to hear from you both on the same channel!

Thank you so much :) Back in Spain in May :)
I imagine it was lovely and cool inside the Business Class Lounge as you waited for the time to go to your gate.
28:00 The music being played in reverse, I dont know if you have done it in purpose, but it makes it sound like a chinese song. haha
The a340 is such a beautiful plane.
I think there's a certain beauty in the A340, particularly the A340-500.
Wow what a Beautiful long Jet almost 250 ft long

The glorious English countryside! Always a sight for sore eyes when you've been away.
Yep nothing quite like it!
Man this puts me to sleep so quick!!! It's crazy
Amigo asi si da gusto ver videos porfavor sigue haciendo este formato desde que llegas a el aeropuerto hasta que te vas
Gracias :) Mi último video se acerca hoy :)
I hope Iberia will not retire this Aircraft A340-600 yet. Love this Airbus bird.
when he said full flight, he really wasn't kidding XD

Congratulation for the video each gets better for me is more then a pleasure to see

@@oui738 that was the main reason that crossed my mind.

It seems the rain in Spain really does fall mainly in the plane!
It was such a miserable day compared to a beautiful day in London - the weather can be strange sometimes!
Awesome video mate! Liked!
Thank you :)
2:27:00 - 2:27:13 I see, thats how to film the airplane window
PLEASE 🐵
very nice video
Thanks!
Love this Sound of these Machines, when they go (now we go). Better is when dumb people DONT TALK
@Noel Philips, bit of a high request, but could you do a full flight on a Lufthansa A346? It would be the perfect video for me.
what a great seat well done 👌
Thank you, yes awesome for such a short flight :)
inflight Video could you do a flight to shannon because that's where i live:)

It sounds like the music is played in reverse in the video during boarding, is it because of the copyright on youtube ?
What a lot of effort and walking just to get to another part of the airport. After all that, I'd expect to be in Barcelona......at the very least.
What type of equipment do you use to record the air traffic control into the camera? I want to buy it on eBay.
I see you tried the same trick on the Heathrow transit but it's a shame you didn't do the same at Madrid :(

Such a big aircraft for a short route which can be handled by a320s and 737s

liama liama An A340 is not a cheap aircraft to operate
Was it a bumpy takeoff and ascent?
Surprised they use the a340 for such a short route. They normally use for 7 hour or longer flights.
Yep it's because of the amount of cargo using Madrid as a hub from South America to the UK.
What terminal did you park at heathrow?
hola Inflight video! una pregunta

Question: why does the engine open up after landing? Every video I've seen of this it does that. Is it to slow the plane down or what?
Melody Jefferson yeah, that's the reverse thrust (or reverse idle) which helps slow the plane
ok thanks, for a minute I thought the plane was coming apart lol
Jamie Marr Same as spoilers
The reverse thrust helps slow down the plane but it’s the speed brakes that really do the work normally. They use a340 on Madrid to london for 2 flghts in the seme plane
