naomi scott acted the hell out of this scene and her monologue before this. her whole performance is actually an oscar worthy. if only the academy acknowledges horror, for sure she'll have a spot for best actress!
She does fear and anxiety really well, and anger. In her first few movies she seemed kind of wooden but this made her an instant favorite. She’s a 10 with crazy talent imo
@@goldiethecat210that’s so true, I hate how biased Hollywood is. If it means anything I think this movie was too good for an award ceremony for a bunch of butt sniffers
What I like about the actual smiling in these movies; while unnerving it isn’t overdone or over exaggerated. It’s an intense smile without an ounce of friendliness behind it.
Also I think everyone miss on this. It's not so much the Smile that unnerved you, but the intention behind it. The Smile was taunting you, I mean you're having a breakdown and this thing is just there... Smiling at you. Naomi Scott's acting is too realistic. I'm also loving that sinister smile from Nicholson.
Ray was cast as a homage to his father's role in The Shining
The Shining was the best horror movie I've ever watched and casting Ray in this movie gave me so much nostalgia of his dad
