Beautiful video review i just tried it only 20 miles run and it sure did work cant wait to make it better as more that i drive thanks for the long term affects
Bought this on Monday after watching your video and all I can say is holy shit and why didn't I hear about this stuff 3 years ago. I have an 05' Sierra 5.3L with a rear main & steering gear leak. Both were leaking an embarrassing amount of fluid, esp the steering gear. I put most of the bottle in the crank and the rest in the power steering pump, set my engine run timer on the guauge and both leaks resolved in under 5 hours. One friggin bottle handled both leaks! The steering gear leak held out to 4.5 hrs while the oil leak dried up after 3 hours of run time. If I ever become incontinent I may just chug a bottle of this.
I had a leaking valve cover gasket on my BMW 645ci...these cars are known to leak anywhere at anytime...no cheap fixes on any leaks. I was lucky that the previous owner just got the alternator bracket gasket replaced for 1000$ ....so now my own first leak....and since BMWs are so touchy I was hesitant to try the at 205. So far I only get a 2 hour drive in of the 5 hours suggested and there are no drops of oil in my garage anymore and the engine didn't seize either....👍
@@Ty0_5 no need to worry...I was hesitant first myself...since it basically looks like water. But I just added it again in my 645 because of the new oil change. I had 4 different leaks ....one still remains but it's also less.....Will keep doing it to all my older cars.
@@cornfusedatbest3980 And what would there be a need for a gasket? There’s no oil exchange on an alternator. It just sits there after it’s mounted and spins because of a belt attachment, no oil involved! WOW!~
Bro this. Struts, shocks, bushings, door seals, window seals.... It's amazing. Even plastic body components that have faded due to age. This stuff soaks right in and brings them back to "new-ish" look, for a lot longer than other plastic restoration products. I have an 07 Pontiac solstice gxp, and the rubber seals around the top were dry and contracted. Poorly sealed overall. Maybe due to poor storage, maybe the previous owner used armor all, who knows. I Wiped them down with this stuff once a week for 3 weeks, and boom - the rubber striping expanded, the water shed normally again. Nothing to do with the power train leaking, but having a convertible top that doesn't seal tight can be just as annoying. This stuff is great. If it's a polymer material, on the exterior of your car, spray it with this.
AT saved my rack and pinion that had stuck valves..5 years and holding. I wish I would have bought a few bottles of it when it was 12 or $13, now it's $20 or more. Thanks for the video
I was really apprehensive about using this stuff but I went ahead and used it anyway. It literally stopped a RMS leak that I've been dealing with for over a year in my Wrangler within 2 hours of driving. It's been 6 months and a couple of oil changes later and it's still dry. This stuff really works. If you're apprehensive about using it you're not alone. Just use it!
Just in case most of you don't know, most rear main seal leaks are caused from excessive gap clearance in the main bearings. If you want to speed up the leak, start it and put it in gear, with the brake on.
Change your oil and filter, With clean oil, add the At 205, give it 200 miles of driving and the leak should stop completely! Must be used with clean new oil and you would just add one bottle in every time you change your oil and filter so the leak won't come back
Do you top off the new oil and then pour this in, or pour in less new oil and pour this stuff in to make up for the amount of oil your car usually needs?
Nope, I called the company. The tech support states after 5 hours it does all it can do and it can only be used once. He stated adding to old oil will still work. He stated it activates with the hot oil and thus why it needs the oil hot or fluid hot so when it is in a cool engine, it will not be e doing anything. I asked them because I am due for an oil change but only added it a short time ago. I had wanted to know if it has any benefit after that 5-hour time.
My '09 Infiniti M35 just turned 200K miles and is dry as a bone under the hood. I ran a full dose for three straight oil changes starting at 160K miles and now put 4 oz in at every oil change to keep everything nice and pliable inside the engine. Also use it on rubber suspension parts to kep them from drying out. Great stuff.
AT205 just fixed my 99 Camry with rear main seal seepage, crank seal seepage and leaky valve seal that allowed a smokey start up. Didn't even use a full bottle.
It's still a temporary fix. Better than nothing but yeah, it's still going to need a mechanical repair before long. I like it though. Like you said, if you're short on money or time, it's worth a try

This is a good video. I would use some caution though on what you decide to put this in, I'm hesitant to pour this into a crankcase on a vehicle I'd be keeping for a long time. Years ago I was using a turkey baster to put this into a differential and I watched it react to the clear plastic on said turkey baster and it formed hundreds of tiny cracks on this plastic. I'm not an expert in plastic, but I'd be fearful how it could react to items such as plastic chain guides and other plastic components inside the engine. If it's your last ditch effort on a junker or it's the rear main seal yeah maybe roll the dice. I've had amazing success with Marvel Mystery Oil, it can be used in the crankcase and other applications to clean. I've seen seals cleaned internally stopping leaks almost immediately. In my opinion it's a safer option to start with, I use about half of what the directions call for as it lowers the viscosity and / or add a little heavier weight oil in combination.
Supposed to drain it put a new filter put in 205 then fill it with fresh oil. The fresh oil provides less friction which will help seal it and you can leave it in all the way till next oil change

I used this today and drove my car for 3 1/2 hours after adding it. I had lost almost 2qts of oil from the leak over 6 weeks. It was smoking off on the engine, and I could smell it when I ran the A/C. Anyway, after driving it for a few hours, no more smoke or smell. It seems to be working. I'll be monitoring the oil level and inspecting for leaks for the next few days to be sure it really sealed the leak. I want to actually fix the leak but don't have the money right now. Hopefully, this will buy me some time whilst I start saving for the real repair.
Based on what I've read in product reviews I would first drop my oil pan and use paint stripper on the inside of the pan to avoid having paint that delaminates clogging the oil pump. Other than that the rear main seal is what Id use it for.
As a side note, IMHO there needs to be clarification between "seepage" "a drip" and "a leak". Seepage is sorta normal and can occur for years in the same place under your engine w/o getting any worse. If it does, it becomes a drip where it pools somewhere on the bottom of the engine. A leak is when there is evidence or a pool under your car or it's dripping onto your exhaust and smoking. If all you have is seepage or a minor drip that's not near the exhaust, don't let a mechanic or state inspection person scare you into an expensive repair you're not ready for. Just use a bottle of AT205. It can fix most lighter issues.
Will do, I have a sweaty rear main seal on my 05 4runner. To my knowledge I haven't seen any drips or spill on the ground. I just hope one treatment cycle works long-term, I don't like have additives messing with the viscosity of my engine oil.
@@JonFox1945 You literally have 6-8 qts of ATF. a few oz of AT205 will not change the viscosity in any harmful way. It will do more good than harm by a long shot. Best of luck.
It lasted until I sold the truck a year ago. Moved onto a new truck. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice 🤔 The product worked wonders for me👍🏻
Old C6 transmission front seal started leaking 1/2 qt. every week right after using Valvoline multi-vehicle trans fluid (big mistake). I flushed it all out, went back to Type-F, and tried a bunch of other products that didn't work, until I started using AT-205 along with Lucas Trans to prevent too much thinning. I don't drive the vehicle much, so it took several months, but now it is completely leak free. I also stopped the hydro-boost from leaking using the same two products together.
@@codemajic8238 I don't need to top it off, because there are still no longer any leak. But if/when I need to do it, I'll use a mix of ATF type-F and Lucas Trans Fix because I have a feeling the fluids they are selling these days are just too thin for my application.
Ya I had a leak on my suburban but I had the trans out at one point and saw it was not the rear main I'm pretty sure it was the oil pressure sensor leaking

Ernest trogman.I didn't mean to permanently speed up the leak. Its a test between a dry rear man seal,or loose main bearings. But by the way I bought a bottle of this product,It seems at the very least it slowed it way down. And it was a fairly bad leak.So this stuff does work.
I plan to add ATP to my power steering rack that is slightly leaking at the boot. Do I need to flush my system before or after I add the ATP? I tested the break fluid its slightly dirty, I’m not sure if it’s ok just to add the 2.5 oz and leave it like that. I’m also not sure if ATP would affect my power steering pump. My 09 Highlander transfer case had a leak issue that was supposed to be covered under warranty but the previous owner didn't get it fixed. Sad too because it was in to the dealer for inspections and oil changes many times during the service bulletin repair period but was never repaired. Of course it may not have been leaking at the time, but since it was an assembly issue at the factory you'd think they would have done it. In any case I'll try to find some of this. Sounds like it'd work in gear oil in a transfer case. Thanks

I got a 2020 1500 bighorn that has a leak in the rear axle seal coming from the differential, I would like to know if I can use this product to fix that leak, thanks
Note: do NOT give it 5 hours. Drive it immediately. Ideally you'd pour it in while it's running. This will melt paint off your oil pan (if you have a painted oil pan, curse the OEMs who do) if you don't mix it into your oil by running your engine, then it will clog the oil pickup screen and kill your motor by reducing your oil pressure to 0
Of course you drive it right away. It’s gonna take at least 4 to 5 maybe six hours of drive time. Not sitting for 4 to 5 hours. And you’re right about the paint. happens all the time!!

Based on what I've read in product reviews I would first drop my oil pan and use paint stripper on the inside of the pan to avoid having paint that delaminates clogging the oil pump. Other than that the rear main seal is what Id use it for.
Who really cares about the paint on an oil pan? Nobody!
@@dontrustwhiteyevery1 until it strips it off and it clogs up your system.
@@dontrustwhiteyevery1😂😂😂
And where would you put this stuff in for rear main seal? Throught the transmission dip stick or oil cap?
I don’t think oil pans are painted.
Great video. Can we get an update since it has been a couple of years? Is the fix holding?
It lasted until I sold the truck a year ago. Moved onto a new truck. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice 🤔
The product worked wonders for me👍🏻
@@HighRidgeHandyman Thanks for the update!
How does the additive smells like? Some says its fragrant is it right?
Did you confirm the valve cover gaskets not leaking? Common on these Chevy engines.
I did and already changed them👍🏻
Old C6 transmission front seal started leaking 1/2 qt. every week right after using Valvoline multi-vehicle trans fluid (big mistake). I flushed it all out, went back to Type-F, and tried a bunch of other products that didn't work, until I started using AT-205 along with Lucas Trans to prevent too much thinning. I don't drive the vehicle much, so it took several months, but now it is completely leak free. I also stopped the hydro-boost from leaking using the same two products together.
what oil do you top off with now?
@@codemajic8238 I don't need to top it off, because there are still no longer any leak. But if/when I need to do it, I'll use a mix of ATF type-F and Lucas Trans Fix because I have a feeling the fluids they are selling these days are just too thin for my application.
What all can you add it to? Transmission? Engine oil, etc.??
I think that stuff may work I'm going to give it a try as soon as I find out where I can get it.
Good luck with it👍🏻
Do you need to use it with every oil change or just once?
Thank you
Hey how’s the leak now? Any reapplications?
Held up well. Eventually sold the truck.
Do you add it with every oil change or just once and done ?
Did mine once and done👍🏻
If it doesn't drip, it's not a chevy

1981 Chevy C10 4.1L valve cover has FLAT HEAD SCREWDRIVER BOLT HEADS. LEAKS LIKE CRAZY

I'm new to the Chevy game. 😂
Ya I had a leak on my suburban but I had the trans out at one point and saw it was not the rear main I'm pretty sure it was the oil pressure sensor leaking
I used rislone 2 part engine Oil stop leak in my 2006gxp 5.3 it worked great and no il leaks or even seepage . Have not seen this product in Ontario Canada
It’s hasn’t been available to much in the states either. I’ll have to check out your product. Thanks for the heads up Nick King👍🏻👍🏻
@@HighRidgeHandyman I bought my gxp for $ 1100 Canadian but blown automatic needed some body work brakes paint touchup and had the 5.3 tic on startup so I added some lifter and ring cleaner ran a few times drained oil then I got leaks added the rislone engine stop leak ran a few times on 2nd run idle cycle all leaks gone , I add 1/2 bottle now every oil change . Rebuilt transmission and paint touch ups and brakes 3500 in total car and repairs and inspection. My repairs buff detail 2 coats of wax I get ton of compliments at gas self serve from young people car looks runs better than new . Oh the lifter cleaner was some Wynn’s ring and lifter cleaned it was discontinued at a tire store here in Canada so I got it very cheap last 6 cans . Used it since I was a kid working part time at a small town gm dealership in 1969 to 1976 it worked great but sometimes causes old leaks that were blocked by sludge . Have fun hope it save you money time and frustration on you with the rislone 2 part engine sealer
Hi - great video. Now would be 2 yrs since adding. Please could update - any further leaking? Did on any other oil changes have to add more of at-205? Any other gaskets or seals maybe effected negatively over past yrs? If not dripping between oil changes not having to add any oil say from oil burning? Thanks for any update. I have oil pan gasket leak and dealership wanting $1700 for new gasket. Is 2011 bmw 328i with only 75,000 miles. Thank again.
It held up fine for over a year. I’ve added 205 approximately seven months after the first with an oil change and it held up great. Good luck
you have some nice tires.
Thanks cuz👍🏻
I'm still cleaning. from the front & working my way to the back 👍🏼. thankyou .
Stuff revives rubber. Put it on axel boots so they don’t crack or tear.
Some of your single drips after a couple of days was probably residual oil up in the bell housing that you couldn't wipe off. I'm about to put it in my 05 Chevy with the same problem.
Did this work for you?
can you also spray them on tyres ?
OK, I just put some in my Ford transit connect minivan the date Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Let’s see if it works.
I had used a cheaper Walmart version of this product before and it worked so let’s see
Do I put it in my transmission for my rear main seal that bad?
Rear main seal keeps ENGINE OIL from leaking out of the crankshaft into the transmission.
Is that a yes cuzz I just put it in my transmission
It will fix a leaking valve cover gasket?
I hear it doesn't really work on gaskets, just seals
Do you have to put more in if you change the oil
Ernest trogman.I didn't mean to permanently speed up the leak. Its a test between a dry rear man seal,or loose main bearings. But by the way I bought a bottle of this product,It seems at the very least it slowed it way down. And it was a fairly bad leak.So this stuff does work.
Anymore update on long term effectiveness after 2 years?
No longer own the vehicle. But so far so good💪🏻💪🏻 this stuff turned out to be liquid Gold😂
Does this work on full synthetic oil though I heard not?
Not sure I haven’t tried. Thanks for the view Donnie B💪🏻
I have a 2000 Lexus RX 300 AWD and it runs great with 188k miles. Great video and thanks for sharing!
Thanks
Good luck K👍🏻
Did it work? I'm thinking about trying it in my SXS too.
What do you think about LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec?
@@uphill248 i’ll have to check it out never used it👍🏻
After covid, I haven't been able to find at my auto parts store. Where do you buy?
Amazon
@@HighRidgeHandyman Yup. Waiting for my bottle to arrive. It is not available at ANY parts store.
My Subaru is leaking oil from every place it CAN leak from except the crank seals. Looks like a job for AT-205, then.
How did it do?
@@joekni2002 Seems to have stopped the leaks for now. I'll be keeping an eye on it for a while, though.
Used Valvoline R and P made my valve seals leak on 01 Ford V10 added 9 ounces of 205 drove 100 miles no more blue smoke at start up. Be careful using Valvoline R and P you might get what you wished for.
Whats about use after add this AT 205 in engine than 5 hours need to drive continuously or parked the car for 5 hours
Thanks
Drive it. It doesn’t have to be five hours continuously but it will take up to about five or six hours of driving time to start the show
I am about to bay this AT-205 for my 2001 Mustang Bullitt with 227K miles where I just find out I have a small leak coming out by where the motor and transmission meet.
Sounds like the rear main seal. Good luck with that . Hope it helps to put off the cost of the repair.
@@HighRidgeHandyman Yes it is a rear main seal and it will cost $950 for everything. I really hope AT-205 work. LOL

Going to try on my 2001 Sierra with 300k on the odo.
Go for it. Mine hast burn oil since or leaked. I hope it lasts . Good luck and give it time 👍🏻
how is it
Did it work for you?
Did it work?
Note: do NOT give it 5 hours. Drive it immediately. Ideally you'd pour it in while it's running. This will melt paint off your oil pan (if you have a painted oil pan, curse the OEMs who do) if you don't mix it into your oil by running your engine, then it will clog the oil pickup screen and kill your motor by reducing your oil pressure to 0
Of course you drive it right away. It’s gonna take at least 4 to 5 maybe six hours of drive time. Not sitting for 4 to 5 hours. And you’re right about the paint. happens all the time!!
Which cars have an oil pan painted inside please? Thanks!
@@jrm163 Just look for your make and model oil pan in search bar, you'll see if it comes painted.

how much oil was in your car before adding AT 205? according to the dipstick
Close to full. Good luck
I have some faint creaking noise from the front suspension, I believe it’s just the bushing…I was recommended this product to spray on all the bushing to rejuvenate them. Does it work? Or have you never tried it like that?
I haven’t tried that but if it was recommended go ahead and give it a shot👍🏻
We went below freezing here in tx which never happens and my suspension got bad making all kinds of noises I hit all the bushings with one bottle and now it rides like a champ
Major leak in my rear main seal. Not any longer!
Did you put this on a cold or warm engine?
Will the AT-205 work on the oil "O" ring inside the oil pan? That is my major problem right now.
If the o ring shrunk a bit causing a leak this additive is formulated to rejuvenate the o ring .
Can you ad it to rear end axles
Not sure. I never tried. If it’s got rubber gaskets Give it a shot . Good luck Trucker Trusted👍🏻
I added AT-205 to my 76 VW Bus camper. I''ve had it at 3 top classic car mechanics and they all say it's in great condition accept for the slight oil leak. Well, It's defiantly leaking a quarter size drip a day. So I put in the 205. 5 hundred miles later it's still leaking. Can I ADD more 205?. Will it be bad for the engine to add more ?. No one says that it's a major issue but the Bus still leaks with the 205. What should I do now?. Is another bottle going to hurt the engine. ?
