    Babylon is spoken about much in the Bible and not as a mythological place but as an actual historical city state.

    • @Oj4y1
      @Oj4y1 9 месяцев назад

      It was indeed a historical place. Also myths have been written about it. Both can be true.

    • @markrichard3364
      @markrichard3364 9 месяцев назад

      No, both can not be true. Babylon is not a mythological place but an actual city state...regardless of what has been written about it. Egypt and Greece are not myths either. Nice try though.@@Oj4y1

    She should have mentioned also how such a big and beautiful structure ended up in Germany. And why it was stolen from its ancient location.

      Get your facts straight. It wasn't stolen. It was awarded to the German Empire by the Ottoman Empire that ruled over what is today Iraq.

      Thank God it did.. people always crying about something. Nothing should be returned to "where it originally was" especially if that place is the middle east. It gets sold and disappears for decades or worse blown up with dynamite and bulldozed saddest thing ever. Take these things somewhere they can be protected from man and weathering

      I concur,
      it was lush and beautiful place.
      teeming with life.
      THAT'S WHY the city is there.
      BUT, due to deforestation, - the people love cutting down trees for everything and burn wood like no tomorrow,- the desert kept growing until
      there is no turning back.
      SIMILAR thing happened to Egypt.
      Ancient Egypt was green and lush, teeming with all kinds of fish and birds.
      Trade up the Nile was the pride of Egypt as was the green reed that made Egypt famous.

    Christian mythology? What part about Christianity is a myth?

    • @MuseumsLove
      @MuseumsLove  2 года назад

      Hi barsoom43! Thanks for watching, and thanks for the question. "Mythology" means stories that groups of people use to explain how things came to be how they are. Pretty much every culture and historical religion has a mythology. 🙂

    Amazing how glazed brick has held its brilliant color over the centuries.

    • @MuseumsLove
      @MuseumsLove  2 года назад

      Yes, isn't it? Many of the bricks were made in the 20th century as part of the restoration, but the animals are all original pieces, and the blue directly around them is original. If you look closely, you can see that the original blue is a bit more faded than the new blue. 🤓
