@@MuseumsLove Good evening! I was about to finish my master graduation, and then, well, Corona happened. At least we got the chance to travel to Spain before it all began hehe! Anyway, congratulations for your new initiative! I really liked it.
Only partially. In the east in particular, many ruins that could have been saved were completely destroyed. For example the city palaces of Berlin and Potsdam. The East German SED party thought it would please the Russians by destroying Prussian buildings. But it wasn't like that. The Russians like Prussia and at the end of the GDR they even romanticized the struggle of both nations against the other (like Napoleon) in order to forge a bond.
Absolutely fantastic video! She is so eager to tell about all of it, so enthusiastic - it's really contagious! You can truly tell the name of her project didn't just come about randomly - she really loves what she's doing. Keep it up!
I stayed in Berlin for two months about 29 years ago. I visited all museums in Berlin. New museums look much better and rearranged. I love to go back. Thanks for good information.
I've been there two years ago and i had no clue about the history of the buildings. Since i watch your channel i feel more connected with your city. Once again, thanks for share, great job! Greetings from Barcelona.
The paragon museum was amazing! I highly recommend you visit! Seeing the inner wall of Babylon was life changing. I seen photos of it in church as a child and didn’t imagine it was real. It’s real! The church, Jehovah’s witnesses, was what was fake 😂
Oh wow, Stephanie could possibly be the most charming, beautiful and the loveliest woman I've seen in Berlin. Extraordinary! Thank you guys for this video. That is my favorite place in Berlin. ❤ When are they opening museums again?

I lived in Berin for 2 years and all the museums were closed due to Covid. But your videos gave such wonderful insights about these musuems. I really loved the video. Very well done Radical Living
thanks, I'm gonna visit Berlin soon. As a Belgian, I have been around 20 times to Germany in my life, but somehow I never made it to the German capital 😄
Some amazing museums on museum island - such a great thig to have so many together like that too if you're into your history - great video Radical Living.
I have been to all except the Bode Museum. Best to go for the entire day and start early with a ticket for all the museums which is cheaper than separate tickets.
Omg when I saw that babylonian gate I had my jaw dropped! I'd read about it before, of course, but either didn't know or remember it was in Germany! That is one of the archeological pieces I admire the most. Bc sure we all love the egyptian stuff, but this gate originally had such unique art and construction techniques to it. The tile motifs from mesopotamia always fascinated me bc of the middle eastern/arab architecture that influenced the iberian peninsula and, ultimately, became a part of portuguese influence in brazilian XVI and onwards architecture even though I onow it's a long shot, but it's a lesser known art form that made it all the way through a deeply catholic state. And it just looks gorgeous from an artistic perspective.
The best thing about German history class: you've got an old castle tower from the year 1000, a church from 1290 and a Roman ruin from the year 50 AD. All in 20 minutes walking distance from school. Do you visit any of this during history class? No. You just learn about the Nazis :(
Interesting. Here in Australia our history courses are packed with manipulative lies. I only discovered the enormity of the lies earlier in the year, when by chance I stumbled on a book by former American Presidential adviser Pat Buchanan, titled 'Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War'. It made me realise how much I'd been lied to, and manipulated. This led me to read extensively over the past few months. If I had to recommend only another 3 books from the several I've now read on the topic, they would be - 'Hellstorm' by Thomas Goodrich, - 'The Morganthau Plan' by John Dietrich, - and a short booklet published in 1941, to USA media acclaim, titled 'Germany Must Perish' by Theodore Kaufman (promoting among other things, the mass sterilization of all German people) If you're interested in the issues that created WWII, and if you can borrow these books from your local library, I highly recommend them.
I laughed so much when you said that your plush toy pet had been lost and looking for you!🦙 I'd seen that Beethoven music video that you'd made in the snow with the lost pet plush toy eating the garbage. You're always funny!😂

Yeah, the soviets also tore down a lot of former Prussian buildings in the old territories and such, they destroyed a lot of it after the war
