    Rough road points at the plastic sluffing I mentioned. Fuel flow thru small orifice/filter makes the flakes cling to filter or pile up around jet, cutting off flow, stop and they fall away or shake um loose till flow brings them back. Just draining bowl leaves them behind to keep messing with you. they are almost invisible in a filter. 👍

    No use looking in that abandoned Peugeot on the Plenty Hwy - I got the last couple of salvageable things (a luggage strap and water bottle) out of it back in July/August ! It had an electronic locking system because the doors and bonnet were not opening, no way, no how.
    How brilliant is the Binns Track section down to the Ross Hwy. Everyone talks about the West MacDonnell Ranges - the East side is pretty specky too.
    I thought when you said to "avoid the tar leaving Alice...." you were going to go down the Finke Gorge, which at the moment is a nightmare. You had more sense than us!
    Tom doesn't like Motorcycle Mechanics ??? There are a couple of good ones in Alice by all accounts.

    G'day mate, Years ago - I had a dr350, thought I'd be smart and ran the carby breather hose in to the air box. Guese what ?, the bike would start and run fine, sometimes for many k's, sometimes only a few K's, this went on for what seemed like every weekend for many weeks. Then I had a thought, I removed the breather from the air box - It never played up again, me thinks the vacuum created in the air box was also happening in the carby chamber and not allowing fuel through.Just a thought, maybe it will help, I certainley know he feels.

      I feel the same way but you have to remember that your mate can bail you out much the same way you can bail him out of trouble. A major point is that you really have to vet your mate carefully. Nice video & thank you for sharing. Seems no place now is safe from the possibility of those flash floods (they’re calling them “bomb storms” here in the states) these days. Too much rain too quickly. Poor Tom with that bike :(
    I see you flip around your cameras a bit. The two I’m using the most are a DJI Oslo Action and GoPro Hero 5 black. Been using one of them for its fine stabilization and HDR and supercruise, but the second one for its narrower field of view. Otherwise the stuff I’m looking at is often lost in the too-wide view. Can only show it right with lots of quick zooms & crops. I took a page from Rozzie and switched to editing on the phone .. way less stuff to carry when traveling :)
    Keep up the good work! 👍👍👍

    • @mongreldogproductions
      @mongreldogproductions  2 года назад +1

      Hi SA, all that flooding was due to a thing called Cyclone Trevor in 2019. www.bom.gov.au/cyclone/history/Trevor.shtml Up that neck of the woods, that part of Australia is known as Channel Country. Any big volumes of water travel hundreds of km and pour into Lake Eyre, a huge depression which was once an inland sea. It only happens occasionally but when it does, it creates a lot of misery for all those in its path. I currently use two Osmo's...I'm not a fan of GoPro. I had a nasty experience with them and refuse to use their gear (for now at least).

    • @suzyamerica4679
      @suzyamerica4679 2 года назад

      @@mongreldogproductions So far my only grief with the GoPro is that it sometimes corrupts files. Otherwise I wish more manufacturers would follow the lead of Drift and make available some simple remotes and the cloning feature to make multi camera segments easier.

    Back in 1999 about 30km east of Giles weather station I saw the aftermath of a direct head-on collision between two 4x4's... perfectly straight , dry road. I still to this day wonder how the heck they managed to do that....luckily they seemed to be Ok and waved me past. I get the impression they were already sick of people stopping and asking how it happened.

    I like that you freeze frame the signs, maybe hold it for a couple more seconds to read the signs? And can you tell me whereabouts you are in the first part of the video? Looks like you could fall off the edge at any time! Thanks, and be safe out there.

      I was on some tkc70s on a CBX500 on gravel formed roads, meadows and looser rough stuff and they were hopeless. On the road they were terrific but as a 70/30 tyre I found that means they aren't really good at anything.
