@@jeffgill420 I always wondered, if you were the devil wouldn't you invent god for people to believe in so you have control over them? It is obviously easier to do something if you believe is good, so the easiest trick the devil could do is just disguising his work as good.
Because if God exists, why does the Devil exist? The Devil is either omnipotent as well, which kinda ruins the whole omnipotency thing or the Devil exists because God wants the devil to exist or god is not omnipotent and can't actually do anything against him.
Also given that bad people go to hell and are punished there isn't the Devil actually a good guy? That was always a confusing thing for me. It isn't like the Devil applauds bad people and gives them presents once they are dead, they are damned to eternal suffering and he doesn't actually do anything against good souls, so why exactly is he bad.

It’s is easier to control someone who doesn’t believe in a god or religion.
If you don’t believe there are repercussions for your actions on earth you can be convinced to do anything.
If you hold a gun to two peoples heads, one is religious and the other is not, and tell them “you will be killed if you don’t (insert immoral action, for this example let’s say) kill your mother”
A moral person backed by the belief they will burn for eternity if they do this would rather die.
But a moral person who believes death means the end with nothing by the same unconsciousness for everyone could and will convince themselves “my mother is older and has lived a full life” “she wouldn’t want me to die for her” “if I die I can’t do anymore good deeds on this earth and I still have things I need to do”

Shockingly they found a yacht with a few people in it just chilling.
They asked who what why etc, and they were simply skilled sailors/sea lovers (don’t really know the word); who had travelled from the islands close to South Africa, spent a week navigating the oceans to check out Antarctica.
They were allowed to keep going and exploring because they had the knowledge, qualifications and safeguards.
All they said was, it was colder than expected and they might go back soon.

That is something impossible on a flat earth, since it would mean the ability of your eyes to resolve objects would depend on how high up you are, which is fairly ridicolous.
Also if you actually know what refraction is, you should also know that if the earth appears flat it would actually still be curved. A flat earth would have to appear concave, or basically curved in the other direction, because light is refracted towards the ground, which is why you can see further on a globe earth, but the same effect on a flat earth would make you see things higher up than they actually are, which makes the world appear concave, because cities at the horizon, would appear above you.

@@Flat_Earth_Sophia You can't claim a model doesn't work or does work without showing the math behind it. That's part of what it means to have a model. You have to explain all observed motion with mathematical formulas. And when you want to claim that a person's model says this would happen or this would happen, you have to support that by showing that their claimed formulas do what you say.
A good example of this is the spinning wet tennis ball thing and trying to use that to claim that water on earth would fly off. This is an incredibly bad attempt at showing that the globe earth model is wrong. This is because the globe earth model says that objects behave according to the net forces acting on them, that the forces cause acceleration according to Newton's 2nd law of motion (F=ma, see math!), that gravitational force/acceleration is found using Newton's law of universal gravitation (again math), and that centripetal acceleration is given by the centripetal acceleration formula (again math). To claim that the tennis ball is a good representation of what's happening with the earth, you would have to show that centripetal force overcomes gravitational force in both examples. This would require you to plug the parameters of the tennis ball into the formulas and show which is bigger, it's gravitational force or the centripetal force when you spin it. Then you would have to do the same for the globe earth. If you did, you would find the gravitational force on the tennis ball is tiny compared to the centripetal force of spinning it like flat earthers do when they make this claim. But for the globe, the centripetal force is miniscule and completely dwarfed by the Earth's gravitational force. So water flinging of a spinning tennis ball and clinging to the globe earth is entirely consistent with the claims and laws of physics. But you wouldn't know that unless you did the math.
There are so many other examples, but essentially every time you claim a model says something would happen you have to show why the math says that or you don't really know the model says that. This is also why flat earth doesn't have a model, they have produced no mathematical equations to explain the motion we observe. That's what it means to have a physical law. Every physical law is a math formula that explains how something works. If you don't have that, you don't have a physical model. If you don't check those, you can't claim a model is right or wrong.
TL:DR, you haven't checked the math, it doesn't work out, and it does matter. All physics laws are math formulas. Showing that those formulas work or don't is really the main thing that matters if you're trying to claim a physical law is right or wrong.

      Years before it occured.
Their model can not predict something so common and constant as variations in tidal times and heights.
They have no explanation as to why ocean gyres move in opposite directions I'm the the N and S hemispheres.
