OMG 99 sketchbooks all filled with drawings front andsback??? *0* that would be like my lifes goal XD only on sketchbook #4, filled around 400 pages front and back so far 😤😥.
Amy Neidlinger LOL NO YOU DIDNt!!!! hahahahahah. I draw everyday. Litteraly for hours everyday and haven't even made it to 10 sketchbooks in a year. For you to hit 56 sketchbooks you must have shit drawings because you can't produce anything good in that time and are not learning a thing.
When he was talking about how amazing Dana was at the beginning of the video, I thought, "There's no way she's that good." Then he goes and opens to the first page, and I had a miniature heart attack because of how amazing her art is. Wow. If I were to say that she had an enormous amount of crazy talent, it would be a huge understatement.
I'd sell my soul to Satan if he could make me draw like that... she just covers everything from the facial expressions, the clothing, the movements... really awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I watched this for the first time in like 2013 and loved it. Just rewatched it today, in mid 2018, and it's still one of my faves!! (So are her other sketchbook vids!)
Thing I love about these videos is not only seeing such amazing artists, but also their teacher. I love how you actually COMPLIMENT your students' work and tell them what it is you enjoy about their it. I've had so many art teachers over the years and I never heard them really compliment. I know you have to give constructive criticism, but that doesn't mean you only criticize. so, kudos to you too man :)
Not many people have that kind of time which is fine. But there are at least a few minutes to squeeze in some sketches and/or possibly an art class if your still in school. As long as if you have fun is what really matters!
I'm not really into animation style but watching her drawings is always uplifting for me, makes me want to go to the drawing board and just fill page after page. The truth is, to become this good at drawing you have to be possessed by it. 99 sketchbooks? That's insane, even for 3 years.
love the way she handles her storyboards also it's always incredible to see people draw in so many different styles! thanks for sharing matthew (and ofcourse Dana)
i really really love this sketchbook. the movement and flow of all of her little adorable characters is really impressive, and something i personally admire. I have a feeling that this artist would enjoy the comic book series "scott pilgrim" because the art style is somewhat similar. so yeah.
I'm a second year Illustrator in training, I'd love to be able to draw like Dana! Very inspirational, I clearly do not draw enough in my skectchbook! Thanks for the video Matt!
Dana, you are amazing. I enjoy every sketchbook that I've seen, but this is the first time I've just had my mouth agape at every single page.. For all 17 minutes. You are (needless to say) gorgeous, and probably the best animation/graphic design artist I've ever seen.. And you're so much less shy around the camera now. You are amazing.
i actually can't believe thats one person doing all that. ;-; I'm so amazed i can honestly admit she's the best artist I've ever seen, and she's gonna be my role model for the rest of my life :')
so cool to keep those Sketchbooks!!!!! i never tried to keep my sketchbooks (except my Nursery class) coz i went a different Perspective!!!! Now i m gonna make my CENTURY, thanx for d inspirational videos.... luv u all!!
This is really inspiring stuff! her drawings have so much character to them and I like how experimental she is with her ideas as well as execution. She's an excellent draftsman (or drafts-girl as the case may be,ha) Thanks for posting Matt.
Woah! Seriously...imma like blown away right now!!! O.O I wish I was physically there so I could just stand there and gawk at her sketchbooks, hahaha! I could probably do it for hours too! Great job!!! Matt was right when he said you'd feel inspired after watching! Thank You sao much for posting! =))
Jaw-dropping amazing work, she would so be the person I follow around in school asking questions "How did you do that again?" lol so one of my favroits sketchbook videos you rock Dana!!!
OH MY GOD.. Screenwriter for Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop... I shed a couple tears just as she said that.. SUCH a lucky girl... XD And talented too!
I really really love Dana's art, I just can't even put into words. I really want to know what classes she takes. Like, how she got to be so good? I serious can't get over how amazing she is! ♥
Awesome artwork and wow 99th sketchbook can't wait to reach that point in my art journey but I will cause I enjoy every sketchbook I start and finish :3 keep going dana
Since I just watch the first video of Dana's drawings (it was right now hahah) , I can't stop seeing those videos!! This is the third one, I hope there's not just tree videos with her ):
I've been trying to draw in my sketchbook as much as I used to in highschool (3hr min) and this is definitely a HUGE motivation. Makes me feel obscenely lazy =_=
These videos are so amazing, I'm so glad I found them ! So beautiful ! Very helpful information on what I should do on my sketchbooks as I am aiming for animation studies as well. I'm currently working on my portfolio and it's a bit hard because I never had so much time before cause of school so my art would be a total mess. Now gotta learn how to be a little more organized and get used to draw in sketchbooks. Thanks A LOT for uploading your students' art ! Keep up the awesome work, guys~
I like see people write thing art stuff like Dana Terrace who my fan to thank you for your show Mr. Alex Hirsch. And bless us my soul to mercy of God.🙏🏽
That`s reallyy amazing I`m so excited inspired and motivated just watching this work, I just wich to get those skills as soon as possible but it seems like a very far away level, aah I`m just going to draw like crazy.
wow... Sva right now is my dream school. I can't believe that I am learning that you teach at Sva...I was considering going into illustration because I want to be a childrens book illustrator, but I settled on continuing to get my bachelors in Graphic Design. Do you have any advice on pursuing childrens book illustration so far it looks like they both involve lot's of drawing through concept
Love love the sketchbook! I particularly like the bears. So cute. How do you draw so consistently well on each page and be creative too? Its so great!!!
While I'm not too fond of all of these sketch books full of only stylized cartoons, even in their life-figure drawing courses. I have to say that Dana is extremely inspiring none the less. She has a very refreshing mix of different styles to her work. It's not just that boring overdone cookie cutter manga that all looks the same. Her photoshop concepts have this "Feel" to them. Like those little worlds really DO exist, and her snap shots, are simply windows so you can look at them, you know?
99 sketchbooks!!! in 10 years of my life i probably have completed like 6 sketchbooks!! Gotta start drawing like crazy and catch up!! What have i been doing all this time?!
Crazy watching this several years later cause now she has her own TV show!! So insane holy hell.
IKR!!
Sorry for being that late but what's the name of TV show?
@@Lina-ch5eethe owl house
this man has taught so many of my favorite artists, the big ones being Spencer Wan and Dana Terrace
She should make copies of her sketchbooks and sell them. I would spend hours drawing if I got a book packed with that much inspiration.
She did! Look her up on twitter and she has some links. She just released a new one a little while ago :)
This inspired me to draw more and hopefully someday have 99 sketchbooks of my own. Thank you Dana!!!
man i'm only on number thirteen!
Im on number 10
OMG 99 sketchbooks all filled with drawings front andsback??? *0* that would be like my lifes goal XD only on sketchbook #4, filled around 400 pages front and back so far 😤😥.

She is obviously a robot designed to be an amazing artist, I mean it's obvious, no one is that amazing.
Can we just have like an hour long video just watching her draw these characters? SHE'S SO INCREDIBLY TALENTED
Dreams can make come true, now she has one of the best shows EVER: THE OWL HOUSE, look how talented she is since so much time ago :'3
I'd sell my soul to Satan if he could make me draw like that... she just covers everything from the facial expressions, the clothing, the movements... really awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Her figure drawings give me life
I watched this for the first time in like 2013 and loved it. Just rewatched it today, in mid 2018, and it's still one of my faves!! (So are her other sketchbook vids!)
She's so dam good with poses and facial expressions and her art style is very cute and fun!Shes inspiring me to do more

These sketch books are absolutely breathtaking! I'm jealous and amazed and 110% inspired to work harder on my own art.
I just cant get enough of her work.... I am going to school for animation...and her sketchbooks inspire me so much.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to cry buckets of tears after watching this?
her art is so inspiring ugh i love the gestures she drew this is just amazing
8 hours a day will get you very far
Explains why I'm improving so slow. I'm lazy, so I'm lucky if I draw 5 hours a week.
Not many people have that kind of time which is fine. But there are at least a few minutes to squeeze in some sketches and/or possibly an art class if your still in school. As long as if you have fun is what really matters!
TXF the truth is real
Hytherdel Ikr.

Dana, you are amazing. I enjoy every sketchbook that I've seen, but this is the first time I've just had my mouth agape at every single page.. For all 17 minutes. Woah! Seriously...imma like blown away right now!!! O.O I wish I was physically there so I could just stand there and gawk at her sketchbooks, hahaha! I could probably do it for hours too!
