That is really nice. Many artists hide or destroy their lesser works or sketches from the past and like to present a perfect picture to posterity, but actually the public, buyers and art historians are not as demanding as the artist and they generally don't think a lesser work diminishes a good work. It may even be the opposite, it can evoke even more admiration when you see what an artist had to go through to become a master.
Great progress! It's awesome to get to store and review your art over time, seeing how far you've come and catch some of the ideas you may have drawn in an old sketchbook that you can use in the future. Thanks for sharing!
I'm a 76 yr, old retired Hollywood makeup artist...now a portrait artist. I never had kids, but sometimes I wish that I had grandkids. I think if I went grandson shopping Id probably pick you! Your work was so good so young and only getting better.
you have no idea tails! i was stalking your account and i cried🖐😭 i started drawing at 14 years old, i like the style of old masters and i dropped out of my arts school and currently studying business major(my 2nd interest). im 19 and i currently felt like i betrayed my dreams of studying art (the art school i went to was shitty in many terms)... i found your account, i just felt so much personality almost like im seeing whom my childhood self wanted to become. your art like the self portrait one and the 1-100 one touched my heart, you put so much thoughts and feelings into the art! im glad i found your account. love yaaaaaaa!!!!! slay like you always do!
1:50 and 4:46 were two of my favorite pages! I also just watched your realism is easy video, and I want to say I really enjoy your more abstracted pieces. Thanks for sharing!
As a baby artist in highschool, I'm so impressed and inspired! Its really fun to see how different artists grow over time. I'll definitely have to save up and buy some prints one day
I dropped out of art school at age 18, because I couldnt deal with the socializing aspect. I felt like such a failure I didn't touch a paint brush or drawing pencil for decades. Very recently I finally started again and omg it has been amazing. I love watching these videos, so fun ❤
Thanks for the tour its amazing , so glad that I am not the only one who has lots of unfinished sketchbooks They are abandonded for no reason - and then we cannot resist a brand new sketchbook - strange !
I just absolutely vibing with you, you have become my own art inspiration and every time you upload a video i feel like we are hanging out together. Thank you for doing this!
I'm very excited to see this. You are my favorite artist your work far surpasses so many I've seen. You've got me inspired to create again after watching this
This is so fun, thanks for being vulnerable and opening up your sketchbooks for us! Drowning is one of my favorite pieces ever, period. You have incredible expression through your pencils and paints, excited to see you and your art continue to unfold💜
I am slowly getting back to art from the ever so frequent slump and you are helping me a ton, love you tails.. love your art and love you as a human you're soo freaking cool♥️♥️
You’re killing it at ArtPrize!!! You seriously have a chance of winning. I was so captured by your concept and the raw talent leaping out of the canvas. You are also so kind and I really enjoyed talking to you!!! - the girl who came alone on the first day, and then with an awful Hinge date on the second.
This is absolutely amazing, I really enjoy seeing how different artists progress to eventually shape them into who they are today! I think your journey is really inspiring, especially with you sharing everything so openly. Hopefully I'll one day have just as many sketchbooks to look back on and be proud of! 💛
I think it’s really awesome that you are finding yourself so young & with so much ambition. The growth is so obvious! I’m 29, came out to my family at 26 after an entire life of “girls are cute and that’s it” but also exploring girls a lot more than “just being cute”… sometimes we have no idea how gay we are until later hahaha and then suddenly we are non binary and way happier than ever.
I seriously hope you keep making more art content. I loved the ranking video and honestly found it really informative as well. I’d even love some advice centric videos if possible
I am !not! a k-pop girl :D I didn't know who that was :D I painted that in the middle of a class. I think I was in ASL. Watercolor pallet and all. I used my water bottle as a water jar. My teacher didn't tell me to stop (or even acknowledge me), but retrospectively, beginning a watercolor painting in the middle of a lecture is extraordinarily WILD.
I could never. All my sketchbooks are and will continue to be filled with memes, in-jokes, haphearted studies, and a million other things that only make sense to me. Still really respectable to show all this off tho, good on you
Yaas! I enjoyed this video so much and enjoy Interacting with the art community. Something I noticed through the vulnerability of this video is that you feel different from other people or that you don't belong. I just wanted to remind you Tails, that you are not so different from other people and that there are so many people that will understand you in this world.
Thanks for sharing and for the vulnerability 🧡 Side note: in one video (I can’t remember which) you gave an unexpected shout out to an ML Buch album. There are some other Copenhagen girlies making amazing music in a similar vein that I can recommend, if you don’t already know of them: Astrid Sonne - Great Doubt; Clarissa Connelly - World of Work (it’s giving Kate Bush); and ZOUMER - Green World.
ok I listened to all 3 albums and world of work was my favorite! I want to listen to it a couple more times but the track "Life of the forbidden" really blew me away on first listen!
i had fun watching this video! The page that oddly drew me in was the one on the right hand side at 18:49 . Were they alternate compositions for Sinking? Was sad you didn't comment on them :(
Those were thumbnails for a college project! Took a reference photo of myself covered in glitter in my dorm bathroom. I took a piece of black paper and cut out tiny holes to reveal the “highlights” when pasted on white board. It was like a stippling technique but stippling highlights with an exact blade. Super time consuming but it looked cool!
So cool to see your progress and your style come through your sketchbooks. Can I ask what medium you used for the bubbles in the shower painting you showed, the texture was incredible ❤️
here is a complete list of the mediums I used, this is not a joke: casein, acrylic, watercolor, ink, gouache, watercolor ground, liquitex opalescents, thread embroidery, crackle paste, glitter, glass sand, glass bead gel, mica flakes, eggshell, metallic beads, thick gloss gel, aluminum leaf, graphite, colored pencils, a golden glittery eyeshadow I love, and little bits of my roof that fell off As for the "bubbles" I'm not sure what your talking about, maybe its the beads suspended in acrylic medium?
Hey tails, i got a question! What is your favorite part of your painting process and the hardest part of your painting process in your opinion? (Also save some art skills for the rest of us😭) :3
my favorite part is when i discover something new and it works/ surprises me in a good way. my least favorite part is when I'm working on a larger piece and I put off constructing a part of the painting that I don't understand. And then I work up the entire painting around the area I'm avoiding and it doesn't make any more sense what to do, so then I'm stuck with being under-planned.
PAUSE I also draw 2 guys kissing but it was the main couple form young royals. But I’m not a guy so I’m not that kinda gay and plus I like both genders
telling people not to engage with the creator of inktober right after saying you're still a potterhead is actually crazy 💀 "I can excuse anti-trans political activism, but I draw the line at plagiarism"
