Ramsay: "Ben, describe your dish?" Ben: "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep..."
I agree. Frankly, with Paula's cool demeanor and polished performances, it seemed like Hell's Kitchen was too easy! Danny had some minor errors, but was a leading candidate on the Blue Team.
At first, I didn't understand why Ramsay didn't like Ben. Then I recalled an episode of Kitchen Nightmares where he was trying to help a Scottish restaurant with elite French chefs keep the doors open. It boiled down to them trying too hard to impress and not giving their customers what they wanted and what was suitable for the area they were serving. With his credentials, Ben had the potential to take the competition but he was too much in his own head trying to impress instead of actually cooking.
Precisely. Ben has put on strong performances when he puts his head down and cooks, if the second and eighth services of Season 5 are anything to go by.
T. and Michelle from Season 14 started together great. They were are machine in this challenge once they hit their rhythm! I was amazed how their egos made them clash so quickly!
I think it's less egos and more differing personalities. Michelle wanted to prove people wrong about her height and age while T seems quick to judge her as too inexperienced and small. I still remember how T got under her skin about her voice and height while also dismissing her on challenges later on.
Paula (in the confessional) foreshadows that she cost her team the challenge as had she pushed for her dish, she would have blew Ben out of the water. It turned out she was right.
Paula and Danny had the least to lose, so they didn’t push their dishes. They knew that they’d be able to impress Ramsey in a future challenge, while the worst chefs desperately tried to impress him with their subpar dishes.

That first challenge confirms that the producers are watching and paying _very_ close attention during the challenges. It's one of the ways they try to keep challenges close until the end, by controlling who goes up first. And they can pick out a winning dish just from watching the contestants work and seeing the finished product.
I love when he has knows already that there are better dishes so after tasting the subpar dishes in the challlenge he has them bring up the better ones. It's completely humbling and telling to the whole crew and i love it.
I still don't quite get how Ben thinks he's a good chef. The sheer hatred Gordon has for him is so comical. I think it's always been the case for contestants named Ben.
I know EXACTLY what I would make. If I had enough time, crab bisque, with a stock simmered with the crab in the shell for maximum flavor, maybe with some curry in it. For shorter time, Thai style crab fried rice with Alaskan king crab? That would be amazing.
I seriously wonder how many millions of dollars Ramsay puts into purchasing all of this food and all of the deliveries, and even paying all of his employees like that guy must be loaded
Too bad Robert had chest pains in this season. He could have won or been 2nd place maybe? Next season he came back but due to bad rudeness his team turned against him and he got dropped about mid way unlike in his original season he was looking at the top. Thoughts?
@@alexandercook3483 far enough mate, I just don't think Florida (however it's probably spelt) was good enough. Although the guy (forgot his name) would win no matter what (he made mistakes but...), Ramsay gave him enough praise it was clear he was in the led and would win.

I'm halfway through this video and I can say that the ingredients the red team rolled are not bad together at all! Mango and ham are in every basic pizza in a pizzeria in Brazil 😂 Mango go very well with most meats. Possibly they'll have a better dish than the blue, because it's not easy to match a bunch of meat together. I wrote this without seeing the outcome so, let's hope they did a good job hahhah

I'm dead - that is hilariously accurate.

Ben: "We'll get there when we get there"
No disrespect to the other chefs on Season 5, but you could tell for a while that Danny and Paula would be in the final.
