In her defence she had everything right in season 18 except she broke the hollandaise, season 16 she had the right protein after tasting but trusted Andrew which was the mistake
I always like this challenge because Gordon seems to get genuine joy out of it. Even when the chefs don't have it spot on, if the dish is good, he compliments them on it.
12:50 i remember watching that the night it first aired and i clapped like a seal when she realised the breakfast wasnt a treat but part of a challenge. Clever girl.
I really like thay when tommy asked "is that bad" gordon only said it was RIGHT, because it wasn't a bad combination or dish it just wasn't what he needed to make
If Joseph had been here, he wouldn't even have cooked anything, he'd just say that the ingredients know who they are and that they can speak for themselves.
Seeing how good Gordon's palate is really puts a Kitchen Nightmares clips in context. While some of his reactions may seem exaggerated or overly critical, I really think he is just tasting things a lot of other people just can't notice.
Matt in Taste it now make it: Raw Venison Quail Egg Caviar White Chocolate Diver Scallops Lemon Zest. Only thing you’re missing is Capers. You would have been the only one right.
I'm not surprised it's his favorite. It's the palate challenge but dialed up to 11. Not only you have to identify ingredients, you have to identify them either mixed with other flavors, cooked a certain way, or/and prepared to imitate other things.
As someone who really dislikes cooking, the passion that these people have impresses me so much. I wish that I had this passion, even a little, for food. I certainly cooked healthy meals for my son as he was growing up but it was always a chore, and coming up with something different drove me nuts as I wanted him to try many foods (except seafood and mushrooms which physically make me sick so we never had it). He did try both with his father and hated them but that could be my fault. I admire each and every one of these talented people as I couldn’t imagine anything worse. And I have the worst palate on the planet, my mother says I’m a heathen 😂 This from a woman who force fed us smoked cod as kids and we all still hate it with a passion 50 years later.
Don't let the fact that Wendy licked the spices off to determine the protein distract from the fact that Elise tried to look around to see what everyone else was doing.
Really shows that even if the chefs can’t identify ingredients, does it really matter to the diners if it is expensive fish or cheap fish for instance?
they should do a challenge where they have to make their own dishes and make Gordon taste their meals and whoevers dish that Gordon cannot identify the ingredients should go through to the next round, I want to see things that also challenge Gordon
Not me screaming "Its VEALLLLLLL" the whole season 16 challenge 🤦🤣 you could easily telf just by how the chop moved when they pulled on it and how their finagers sunk in. Im such a texture person and i cant BELIEVE only one team got it right! Dont get me wrong, they're very similar, but these are professionals.
Imagine if Chef Ramsay made the chefs recreate Matt's exotic tartare or Antonia's mardi gras gumbo.
Oh no
Don't give him ideas lol
Or Raj's seafood and vegetable pancake
"Taste it now don't throw up"
Lol that would be very entertaining to see
I like the individual 'taste it now make it' more than teams. You really get to see pressure 😅
Same bc it’s easy to blame someone else for mistakes in a team while individual challenges really show who’s got the talent
The season 14 black jackets where fun to watch. They all very much respect each other and many of them felt like actual friends

Ngl Ramsey guessing all the ingredients by tasting it that quick is so awesome
Experience is a killer
Fun Fact: Gordon Ramsay's tongue is insured worth $10M.
Holy cow, I looked and it's true! Wow!
He's got one of the best palates in the world.
He can even distinguish different types of chilli peppers.
Makes sense. Surgeons and dentists insure their hands for millions of dollars. Chef Ramsay’s palate is top tier.
He is also a high ranked black belt
Mans hands are 5 million each!!!!

Seeing Gordon's tasting palet doing hot ones must have been way worse for him. Tastes even if its lime or lemon used 🤯
Right! Can you imagine how bad it must’ve been for him
11:52 The boys being happy for each other and then she just stands there
i'd love to see these chefs recreate both versions of gordon's legendary grilled cheese sandwich
Let them remake a mock apple pie. That will taste like a real apple pie but it's 100% apple free!😂
That would be very funny, but I’m sure they would be able to tell by texture that it isn’t really apple.
Many cheap Apple pies, bulk it out with choko. Close in texture and will take on the taste of the apples.
He's done something really similar before! He gave them a large meat-driven meal and then asked them about it. It was entirely vegetarian XD
