So, basically this season of Aether Raids has been a literal joke.
My first +10 Unit with Grails. I'm not entirely sure why I chose Julius. I kind of feel a bizarre connection to him.

Julius ; I cannot stand the sight of Reinhardt.
Certain players; welcome to the club.
Players who still don't know how to build an anti-Reinhardt. Players with good luck can go with Micaiah or Lugh (very high resistance, Micaiah has a horse effective tome and Distant Defense, Lugh has WTA, a Serpent tome and Mirror Stance) . If you're on a budget or unlucky with your summons, old school TA Cecilia or Lightning Breath Fae can still do the trick.
Reinhardt, while still dominant in PVE and annoying in PVP, is not as destructive as he used to be...

@@GMStarworld I prefer Micaiah and Lugh. She has 35 Res naturally (+3 from Thani for an ass-kicking 38), can run double Distant Defense, and double effectiveness is nice. And Lugh has 34 Res, color advantage, his Serpent tome has Distant Defense built in (another 6 in Res), and Mirror Stance (yet another 6 more) in the A just to make him even magically tankier and harder-hitting when attacked. And, just to finish off the ludicrousness, he can refine his Serpent tome and reach 37 Res. Add 12 more in combat, and that's 49 Res with WTA.
I get it, with TA, F!Robin screws him over twice (color if going with Tactical Gale, effectiveness if going with Keen Gronnwolf), and she is also another great budget option. But I prefer Cecilia not only because of what she brings, but also because she is Horse Emblem viable.
@@branlopgar I run a fortress def/res female robin with warding stance, she gets to 45 def and 44 res :>.
I also have a +res female grima who reaches 51 res.
Would recommend grima for a flier emblem.
It's funny since Julius is one of the few red units who can actually tank Reinhardt XD I'm routinely seeing mine take 0 damage from death blow 4 Reinhardts.

I came from the future and Julius is one of the best red inf mages in the game thanks to his refine... I'm so happy

He's not bad, but not great either. He's still the only infantry mage that takes effective damage and phisicaly units will tear him down, both bad things in AR where Naga exists

I remember that one time he hired Sothe to kill Reinhardt and Ishtar. But I guess if you want it done right, you just gotta do it yourself.

I loved this video back 2 years ago when you first made it. I ended up pulling for L!Eliwood because of it, and used him to buff Fallen Tiki to start clearing the infernal maps. It was a lot of fun! FEH is a lot different now, though...
That's why I +10 my Raigh. And now he's even getting his own tome!

This is the video that made me +10 Julius. I play with the sound off so I never heard any of his voice lines before, but man, the voice actor did such a good job. He is now my highest-investment and most-used unit and kicks major ass. So glad his recent refine has brought more attention to him. Thanks for making this video!

I always have the urge to scream whenever the Loptous animation shows up. Best METAL dragon ever; Gajeel and Dialga, eat your hearts out.

I've been using Julius for forever now. Without him I would have neve reached Tier 21 in Aether Raids. Without him I never would have gotten my first top 3000 season last week. Best investment of 10 dragon flowers I have ever made. Totally worth putting him at +10 +10. People only see him as a mage tank for some reason but he's also very solid at taking on physical damage too.
Well, not that good on the physical side, considering he has only 16 Base Def. Loptous has a very good effect attached to it, though. It's basically a free -6 Damage on most combats.
Also reducing the opponent's attack is far better than increasing one's def/res. Defense Increases can be pierced by specials like Luna and Moonbow. Attack reduction on enemy cannot be ignored, not even partially.

Imagine a Legendary Marth, having his normal stats all +6 with the various tactics skills.
Add the Exalted Falchion effect. +12
Add the A skill Bonus Doubler effect. +18
Add the Kaden bonus effect. +24
Add the L! Eliwood Ardent Durandal's Bonus Doubler effect. +30
This is what i call "Bonus Quintupler" Marth.
Still, it's pretty ease to counter him lol. Just, attack him from a distance, especially with blue mages.

Actually if he gets panicked he returns to Neutral.
+6 from bonuses becomes -6 due to panic. *-6*
Exalted Falchion doesn't work if he's panicked. *-6*
Bonus Doubler doesn't work if he's panicked. *-6*
The same applies for Ardent Durandal's effect. *-6*
However, if Kaden is not panicked, he will still buff him. *-6+6 = 0*
When you're panicked, Bonuses become penalties and aren't counted by Bonus Doubler effects.

The amount of ar teams ive soloed with julius is unreal. If you give him mystic boost he just auto wins against any mage or dragon.
I stopped playing a few weeks ago, but I like watching this kind of videos from time to time. Beautiful!

@@boomguy2 I mean, you're right but I have seen someone who built Canas so well he took down an Idunn without dying.
@@kaelanmcalpine2011 Problem with Canas is, it's almost impossible to build him unless you're giving him premium skills, because his kit doesn't go well with his stats (he is a magic tank, but an owl tome is not exactly best suited for that, his attack is kinda low and doesn't take full advantage of a bladetome, and there is not a Rauðrserpent tome yet so he can have a weapon that suits his defensive stats). Mine is still sitting ducks in the barracks after his TT ended.

Ploys suck at this point. We have way more busted skills like Chills, Smokes, and Aversa's Night.

Those are the only ones I could make + anything, and ones I was actually passionate about, so yeah...

I would appreciate japanese voice actors more if I knew more japanese than i already do. People really need to realize that japanese voices also sound bad to japanese people and aren't the superior voices just because its japanese. I didn't mean to rant or trash another's opinion.
@@silvaitor9054 nah you weren't ranting. A lot of non-JP fans do hold up Japanese voice-acting as better regardless of its true quality. That seems to have gotten better lately though.
So jealous that you also gotEliwood. Got only 3 Ryomas and 2 Hrids during the Banner. Anyway, i always like this kind of underrated Units even though it's really just the Support who makes Julius in this case look OP. But that Shows that you can really make everyone great in FE and that is what i like about it. Keep the good work.

Julius is AMAZING! Mine is +10 S supported with 9 Dragonflowers and maaan, he does AR for me nearly solo-handed. I run him with Def/Res Fort, QR, Atk Ploy and Heavy Blade in S though! He managed to throw Iceberg in faced every retaliation 👌

I managed to get TT marth to 62 SPD with 1 merge baring in mind that I had gunthra and Lucina on team wish I could show it to you but I also an 83 atk Duma at neutral attack but damn good content as always

Awesome video! Julius destroys the once annoying Aether Raids meta like a true fallen hero. :) (I put in a very cringy comment here 3 years ago that I forgot about and wanted to delete for good) *P.S. Summoner Duels is a mistake. Aether Raids is annoying, but tolerable imo.*
I the set find interesting on Julius cause I'm 10 merging, max Dragon flowers with S support on Arvis cause I just find them as a cool and interesting villain (plus the refine on is interesting on his weapon tho I need to make a good set for him ._. )

God damn now I really need L Eliwood, luckily his rerun is so good, that is an amazing Julius too, just goes to show every unit can be broken at +10 with the right effort, though I never saw Julius as that bad, he's one refine short of being great (issue being he's a book two unit but we never get nice things anyway.
I mean his tome is not bad... But it's kind of underwhelming consider the original effect. (Halving the Enemy's Attack except for Naga Tome).
He is not canonically weak to Falchion, so I hate the fact that they just gave him general Dragon Weakness.
Emboar bof That's what I mean, his Tome is ok but not amazing and requires heavy investment to make great with skills like Steady Stance 4. I would love it if IS found a way to implement a weaker version of the base effect. Of course it doesn't make sense but wasn't Julius weak to Naga I'm Genealogy? If so ten I see why he'd be weak to weapons that have the same effect.
His stats are so much higher than his Dad's... Atleast Arvis and Saias are quad ploy boys.
