unless the seller sent a defective or knockoff one, that's weird. i have the genuine adapter and am on the newest software update that i know of and it works great.
I am searching about hdmi output for galaxy note pro and found this video, does this hdmi output must be in "mirror mode" (displaying same content for both screen)? Can you turn your screen off when output to hdmi? thanks

Hi. I have a strange situation here. My original Samsung HML adapter and the HDMI cable I am using are fine. I have tested both of them successfully on other Samsung devices (Galaxy S5 phone, another Samsung tablet, etc.). However, with this bloody tablet (i.e. the very Galaxy Note Pro 12 you are describing), the HDMI output doesn't seem to work. Also, I can't seem to remember if it worked at all before :( ... Anything in the tablet that may be blocking the HDMI output? Your feedback would be much appreciated.
Jean-Claude Robert Elias I don't think there is a software block out for this in the settings. I would recommend resetting the unit to factory settings.

the screen from my tablet note pro 12.2 doesnt cover all surface on tv. when using my galaxy alpha phone it is ok.

I got that adapter in the link and it didn't work in my 12.2 note pro. I dunno if the update of operating system caused it or what.

+Bilo Chan the screen remains on, mirroring what you have on the display. I believe this to be the case with all MHL adaptors.
