Probably one of, if not the absolute best SNES OST out there. My absolute favorite for sure! Terranigma is one of the few games I keep playing regularly, no matter my life circumstances.
The whole "Heaven and Earth" trilogy has an awesome and memorable soundtrack, but Terranigma will always going to have a special room on my heart because back when I played it, it was my "way out" from some bad times.
@@ironiemussbosch7015 I do, from time to time on my original SNES^^ Crazy how many people know Secret of Mana but not Terranigma. This is sadly the reason, why they won't make a remake. In my dreams the remake would be a flawless upgrade but I know this is not going to happen.
I'am for a remake of a very long adventure focusing on world building, character development and conveying the enormous wisdom which was scratched by the original. The game should at least take 150 hours to play through out of the ground theme so much more can be made if the game gets 10x to 20x the average play time. This game is not a game is a class in wisdom and human education.
Darkside field 13:29 was the track i linked with the meaning of adventure as a kid, i remember having a bunch of fun just running around in Crysta talking to the people throwing pumpkins hiding behind houses jumping around etcetera, and at the moment i had to leave to save everyone and that music started playing i got kinda scared but also very excited to see what would happen... like in an adventure. it was AWESOME. this song is at first melancholic but quickly turns hopeful as you start walking towrads your first tower of trial, as if you were struck in awe by this new grim landscape in contrast with the dreamlike Crysta but still were eager to go fulfill your duty to fix your mistakes, later on it becomes a determined song that can only be compared to your newfound determination to save the people of Crysta and later on even the world. this soundstrack is just beautiful sorry for nerding out like that, i just feel very passionate about the whole thing.
What a gold comment! I am very impressed with your views. Your interpretation of this heavily, darker and heroic song as a "determination song" is wonderful. I feel that your interpretation adds to the more depth of the story of Terranigma.
Same here, i was like 10 yrs old when playing this, reading your comment reminds me like I kinda feel the same thing, make me also remember that as kids we are very receptive at what we see in videogames so deep like this one. Sadly in my first playthrougth i got stuck at Zue in the part that you have to let the frog hit you... retake the game like 3 or 4 yrs later still being sad beacuse i lose that savegame with those levels that i did level up being stuck there and my final memory of this game is the ending i feeled very sad beacuse i used to think that i was indeed the hero of the light lol.
I highly recommend Roman Heuser's orchestral arrangement of the Underworld theme. Come to think of it, I would suggest all his Terranigma covers. You can find him on RUclips.
Terranigma is a beautiful game. The game just makes me emotional for some reason. I think it’s the combination of the melancholy story and characters, the music that hits at just the right spot, and the pixel art. On top of that, the gameplay is really solid. The combat and movement is fluid and I like being able to explore all the varied locations in the game.
Uno de los mejores soundtrack además de uno de los mejores juegos de la snes, profundo, espiritual y significativo, ahí donde vaya el espíritu va el corazón... Es como la vida misma.

Gorgeous soundtrack from a beautiful game. These new indie games, while some of them keep the spirit of these beautiful retro games alive, the music just isn't the same
"Hometown" is what will always do it for me. Back then at 17, when I got around this game, I enjoyed how peaceful it was and merely found it catchy. But now at 38, I can't listen to it without tears swelling up in my eyes. To me, It conveys and evokes a notion I think most of us had growing up in our teenage years, the innocence in that coming-of-age phase of life in it's twilight and about to abruptly stop when you get smacked with reality and all the situations you can possibly end up in afterwards. A departure from said innocence - soon to be thrust into real and stressful situations in adulthood. Just my two cents.
Hometown is my favourite. Just imagine such an idyllic, peaceful setting with one young lad there destined for great things... as it builds, it's as if his future combines with support from the whole town wishing him well on his journey and a hope that he will restore things to as they once were... but greater difficulties are sadly to come
