A guy in my pod suggested that since Kibler did it on IHYD, mass land destruction was okay. He was not joking… the rest of us vigorously disagreed! VIGOROUSLY!!! 😂
Olivia! Let me see what you have! "A mono red deck" NOOO!
So, a minor correction, but the first casting of Visions of Dominance wouldn't have put 8 counters on Vorinclex.
First, it wants to puts 1 on it, with Pir saying "Hey, let's add one to that" and Vorinclex going "2? Nah, dawg, imma take 4."
So far, so good.
Then Visions tries to double that, but counters don't just appear out of nothing, so it does this by putting 4 more counters on it. Pir steps in again, saying "I love you, and imma let you finish, but 5 is better than four" and Vorinclex then stepping up with the classic "Yo dawg, I heard you like doubling" taking another 10 counters. The end result is 4 "doubling" to 14 counters, not 14 power.
The second casting was technically correct with the board state is it was presented (Pir is gone, so the 1 is "just" doubled to 2 added to the 8, then those 10 are "doubled" by adding another 10 that Vorinclex doubles, so 20 is added for a total of 30) but it could have been 48 (the math being 14+(1*2)=16, 16+(16*2)=48)
You could technically have less counters because you can apply your replacements is any order you like, so your can have Vorinclex double first and then have Pir add 1, so Vorinclex could theoretically end up with either 10, 11, or 13 counters after the first casting instead of 14, depending on how you stack the replacements. Not that there's any real good reason to do that, but you can. Replacement effects are just weird like that, which is the big takeaway from all of this, really.

Was hoping to see a EDH-redemption after IHYD between Brian and Olivia. I was not disappointed, after all. :) Logan, next time, take out the Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider instead of a Mowu with Maelstorm Pulse. ;)

You know for a mono-red deck which has a fireball as it's symbol I can't help but notice that Olivia can't seem to stop freezing which makes me think she's secretly a blue mage disguised as a red mage.

The fact that Olivia has all the dog yips for cussing on-camera, and only wants to "sit in the corner and play with artifacts" is peak Olivia Magic. Plus, it's nice to see that the joking from I Hate Your Deck between Brian and Olivia is still funny as hell, lol.

PS: I feel ya on bullying Mowu. My boy Craig plays a mono-white legendary dog from original Kamigawa block, using Equipments and Auras, and I bullied that 1-CMC dog all the way up to costing 16 mana by the time it was all said and done once. So I get it, why you keep the puppy off the table, lol.

It's a probably a good idea to say "menace" normally once per video, gotta get those newbies in here! Also, welcome to mono-red love Olivia, you'll be back, there's lots of artifact goodies in red, like Kiki-Jiki, Feldon, or Daretti. You def did not need to hit Ali so hard despite what Brian and Logan said, commander is a political format, lean in to that-- even with mono-red, and then hit with a vengeance!

Personal tip for anyone piloting a mono red deck; Stop over commiting to your board. Hold some cards back. In 1v1 formats, mono red needs to burn 20 to win, in Commander it’s gotta burn 120!
So my personal tip, you gotta flambé ur opponents with mono red. A nice gentle ember. 2 to one person, 3 to the next. Wait to turn the burners up until you see lethal, whether it’s the opponent or yourself lol

I think Kibler was supposed to take the damage from cracking the verdant catacombs with Olivia's shaman/mentor/Torbran out? Fun game though, always a learning experience playing outside the comfort zone with unfamiliar colours.
And he should have paid a life for cracking the Catacombs. But he won at more than 8 life so 🤷♂
