I swear to go Hair Buddha gets a little closer to insanity every time a person in a hair fail dumps a tub of coconut oil on their head 😂 who started this ,and can we please end it already
I think it's a misunderstanding. When you apply box dye hair or toner it's suggested to apply some cream or vaseline near the hairline so you don't get stains on your skin. Another thing.. Many black people apply coconut oil on their hair for conditioning and moisturizing, but they have an entirely different hair type. In this case skin protection and conditioner doesn't mean that it's a perfect one for all solution.
Let's look at the bright side: none of Hair Buddha's subscribers (449k) would ever use coconut oil before bleaching their hair, nor bleach with quick blue, nor use a 40 volumes developer, nor forget to take sections, nor believe purple shampoo is a toner 😊
You are hilarious. I went to cosmetology school in 1981 .after graduating worked about 8 years. Hated it but loved cutting hair. BEEN A DOG GROOMER FOR 31 YEARS. And there is a reason I went to the dogs. I still cut and color my own hair I'm doing it right now. Keep us laughing.😂
If you Google it, there are so many sites that say it is true. I am not surprised that people are believing it even though they probably don't get better results after using it.
Yea shes going places 😂😂😂😂😂 she cant form a single sentence without using the word fuck or shit. And shes actually just dumb on top of it. She may be going to school but i guarantee shes not learning anything. Shes the epitome of "u can buy an education but u cant buy class"
I just wanted to say thank you! I always wanted to be blond or at least try it. I’ve worked for two years at a hairdresser as a girl for just dye and men’s cut, cause I wasn’t trained, but bleaching your own head is a complete different story. I’ve used blondme with 20% 2 times, with a week gap in between and toned it afterwards. During the process my boyfriend asked me if I get in contact with aliens cause I had so many foils on my head, but I just heard your voice “smaller sections” and it worked out so good! And I did a test strand before, cause I wasn’t sure if my ends still had box dye on it, but it was just an inch, I wanted to cut that anyway.
So then, I'm lucky. I didn't know that grey hair was so sought after. I stopped dyeing my hair 5 months ago and that's how I'm getting my grey hair. ROFL
@@66squeaky I was going to do it in 2020, but then, I fell in the trap again when I went to my hairdresser's appointment. I started now and my grey is so soft compared to my hair with dye. I forgot about it. It didn't look bad before, but my scalp was suffering. It was itchy.
@@zoebear1992 I started loving it during the fourth month. The first three were difficult because it didn't look like I was intentionally growing the roots.
@@Germania72 yes there's that weird stage, I was frustrated with the line where the roots grew in, so I put blond highlights in to make it not so dramatic, now I don't have that horrible line and the grey and blonde are really pretty together.
Her technique for doing it on herself was really good, with better products, without coconut oil and without trying to make rhe "root shadow" she would have done a beautiful job. I mean, it wasn't patchy, her shadow root was the wrong color
I can see a pattern here 😏 when Hair Budda doesn't like something, but also doesn't want to be rude and show appreciation to someone's work, skills and style, he saids it's special
I did an internet search on the coconut oil bleach myth. The belief that the oil protects hair from bleach damage is so pervasive that you would have to look deep to find anything suggesting otherwise. The first page of results is all pro-coconut oil before bleaching, and most people do not go beyond the first google page. Many seemingly professional hair care blogs and videos suggest using it. The leading theory from these sources is that the bleach will "eat" the proteins in the oil before starting on the protein in the hair strand, thus buffering it from damage. Maybe this is giving people the idea that coconut oil is the same thing as a salon bond-building agent like Olaplex. It is obvious that they are not the same, but people seem to think they have the same effect.
Which just goes to show you that they don’t know wtf they’re talking about. Eat the “protein” in the coconut oil?? There IS no protein in coconut oil. There’s no protein in ANY oil (unless, by some chance, there’s sediment, like in some olive oils). It’s OIL, as in fats.
The “Titanium” color she got from Sally Beauty is a semi-permanent… she wasn’t supposed to mix it with developer. If she would use products the way they’re meant to be used…
Hair bleaching bingo: - coconut oil - quick blue - 30/40 vol - T18 - purple shampoo 😬😬😬 It's like seeing remakes of the same movie over and over again 😂
The look on HB's face when they mention coconut oil as if it was the balm for every issue 😂 I guess it is good for them if they are positive and like what they see even if to a trained eye it is not the best outcome. The important thing I that they feel good about themselves. And I am sure HB agrees, although of course for a professional it must be painful to see something which could be done much better. He clearly wants people to be happy and self-confident.
Omg, how is everyone getting the exact same items? It's like the hair fail starter kit! Coconut oil +quick blue+that 1 brand of 30vol + t18 😂😂 Seeing your reaction never gets old tho 😂
That exact titanium color is a beautiful silver blue color when applied to LIGHT BLONDE bleached and TONED hair... I had my entire head that color and it looked amazing with a bit of black roots grow out .. I mixed it 1 pt color to 1 pt conditioner... I'd does fade to greenish tone so keep that in mind
Someone on Tik Tok did the coconut oil thing and it got passed as round, because among the younger generation, if it's on Tik Tok it must be 100% right🙄
Hairbuddah, is it wrong that your pain & disillusionment is deliciously entertaining? These folks would succeed so more often if only they watched your videos first and LEARNED! Thanks for sharing
Chickie needs to stop lying to herself. She is BEYOND LUCKY that her hair was healthy enough to endore that nightmare. Should have left it the way it was at around the 8:11 mark.
Hair color is chemistry. Some salons will be sure to call is Color Science to make sure people understand it is not the same result for everyone and you have to understand chemistry to plan the right volumes and contents of each step and that nothing is a one step process. but here we are because Tik Tok...and youtube University
Right? People don’t understand how hair color and hair care is a literal science. There are so many different hair types and colors and curl patterns and thicknesses. And people have different allergic reactions to certain dyes and bleach that hair stylists have to take into account.
I know I’ll laugh when Hair Buddah see coconut oil and his guess always right when we see T18 Quick Blue and purple shampoo, because his reactions and facial expressions are priceless. Thanks to him and his advices I’m now bleaching my hair with 20 vol and Blond me. I don’t use Wells T18 or T14 (no sales in France) I’m using dialight for toning.
So last week I was at Sally’s to grab some colours so my son could dye my hair (he’s in barbering school and it was his last week prior to his work experience…anyhow, he needed to practice colouring, and it’s been 2 years since I dye my hair…) Anyhow, I influenced someone and stopped her from buying 20 dev for toning (and yep, they recommended T-18…I could only meddle so much!) and I also told her to only use 20 vol to bleach dark hair as she’ll have to do 2 rounds at least. I also prevented her from buying QuickBlu! My work here is done! Until next time 🤓
I think the only solace Hair Buddha has is knowning he wont see his own kids on one of these fail videos.. You can see his soul die a little at the mention of coconut oil, 40volume or quick blue 😂
Always thought it was a good idea to deep condition your hair before coloring / bleaching. Thanks for explaining why you shouldn't. will try just doing a clarifying shampoo a few days before and see how it goes next time
A base 4 for her shaddow root with some 7/1 would have given her a more nice shaddow root and the little bit of ash from 7/1 would have blended into the grey better
İ did the same 2 years ago at a hair salon and the result was to have orange hair instead of Grey ... And to lose half of my hair .... Since then İ went back to black with box dye and it's been 2 years NO COLOUR has touched my hair ! And already Greys and whites have taken the majority of my head ❤️
I am really lucky and have beautiful natural curls. I once got a cylindrical brush tangled in it and had to cut it out! Glad I didn't think to film it though 😂 or to pour coconut oil on it 😂😂
Probably vol 3 and quick blu b/c they sell n together on sale that's y i bought it only damage my hair b/c of prior failed bleaching wen the products I used was actually expired 😂 was a huge mess....at least I kept my hair wet while bleaching so when I used quick blue it actually worked continuously under the hair cap.😂 followed up with joico blue shampoo and conditioner. My hair was light enough to dye it with bright colors that glow under ultraviolet lights! 🥳
If anyone watching this has blonde pieces in their hair like that, try and do your best to avoid those spots and put conditioner on them just to be extra sure. Coat those bad boys in a bunch of conditioner and try to keep them separate somehow from the actual hair that is getting bleached.

What’s the point of adding CO to hair before dying? If you’re dying or bleaching, your stuffing your hair up anyway
