35 years ago. I was hoping some company would create a clear gloss for canopies, etc. Really was sick and tired of products " crazing and yellowing " my work. In the supermarket one day while getting a floor wax product, I noticed a bottle of " future " I tried it on some clear parts and it worked perfectly. Told a friend who had the same initial reaction I did which was " hmmm " ? We told the Syracuse IPMS chapter (much bigger than ours, ( Binghamton, N.Y. ) and shortly thereafter, the use of " future " went galaxy wide. No one prior to this ever mentioned or used it. My small contribution to the hobby. Small but significant. Among many other things, I use it to attach canopies to fuselages, etc. Makes a very strong bond, doesn't attack the plastic.can always w be redone with a shot of Windex.
No need to spray a mist coat. You will create a rough surface. This stuff sticks like shit to a blanket. Spray wet coats to take advantage of its self leveling properties. Also, you don't need to let it dry overnight. This is a floor product, and can be walked upon within an hour. And it DOES NOT yellow after years . Hope this helps.
Future/Kleer was NOT a floor cleaner or wax. It was a floor SEALER. Its properties were/are to seal and thus it did a great job sealing the micro-pitted surface of clear plastic and acetate to give it a glass-like finish. I have used it for over 15 years and it does NOT yellow!
Hello Bobby, sorry for the ignorance but what is the American equivalent to cellulose thinner, you had mentioned that is what you use when you get tip dry on the air brush needle. Thank you.
Its a hard floor polish! You can walk on it within 10 minutes!!!! You can certainly decal on it within 10 minutes! In UK and Europe its no longer clear, a colour additive is used to try and make it child safe.
I looked up what you listed and I’m not sure of that particular one, but the one that I and many others use is Pledge Floor Care Finish. The label is blue and white, and it also reads 2X more shine, and it has a round little picture of brown floor boards at the bottom of the label. I searched for a long time in stores but could not find it, then I found it on Amazon’s site, but and this is a big but, it’s expensive, for a regular sized bottle 798 ml. it cost me around $ 20.00. But if you break it down per oz. it’s about the same as the cost of Alclad gloss top coat. The only reason I paid for this is because of how well it works with an air brush, and if you dip your canopy in it, it will be the best canopy around. Hope this helped.
5:50 yellowing on the inside of the bottle of clear is yellow and dried.this will mess your models up at some point.30/35 yearsbago when the market was nkt so cheap this was a cheap, goto
