Just what my old P-38 model needs. I'll order some of I can't find some. My kit had a horrible fit. Building it for a 100 yr old WW2 vet. He worked on P-38s.
You’re correct, those jars get really messy. Last night I walked into my hobby room and 2 bottles of Mr Surfacer were smearing each other and the workbench! How dare they? I scolded them then I wiped the rim of the jars with a paper towel , just as I did the last time I used them. So just keep an eye on those jars and don’t be afraid to yell at them for making a mess of themselves. Good luck!
I have a quick question to the Mr. Surfacer experts out there; I have never used this product, but I did get a bottle of Mr. Surfacer 1000 and I would like to use it eventually. Am I to think that this is only to be applied by brush, or do people shoot this with an airbrush as well? Albeit thinned with lacquer thinner or acetone? From the video, I see it can be hard on paintbrushes so I can only think it would be rough on airbrushes too.
Is there any difference between the different grades...ie could I get a hold of the 500 and dilute it to mimic the 1500? Or are the particles coarser in the 500 than the 1500? I hope I make sense...
Yes, the 500 is coarser than 1000, etc. 500 will fill wider gaps and will build up thicker with subsequent applications. I have not noticed that 500 looks grainier affter sanding and you cant tell under a coat of primer. Stuff is great for sink marks.
Can you help me with something ....i have sculpture made from (liquid plastic easyflo60)... but in the molding process ...sculpture got few gaps..holes....from air bubbles... i need to fill them with something and paint whole sculpture after that..... so i need to fill few gaps (big like 1 water drop each)...and then paint...so need to be paintable....i hope you understand my english is not so good....😅 was thinking to try with super glue...baking soda...but dont know if this paintable?
Gunze are top noch products..Be aware though.. Those primers/surfacers have very strong chemical smell...Just open the lid..Toxic halocaust haha ...Especialy when you airbrush them the respirator is mandatory...
I've been away from model building for decades. A lot of things have changed as far as products. Your channe is a great resource. Thank you.
Thank you very much!

Yeah it can be sprayed via an airbrush mate, turns out to be a great primer
What is cellulose thinner called in the U.S.?
how many mr surface filter are you
suppose to yous?
I have mr surfacer black 1500 can I use it with handbrush and what kind of thinner do I need to use
Cellulose thinners is what I use but any lacquer thiners will do
do you ever run these through airbrush - could you use the 1200 or 100 airbrushed?
I have not personaly but you could

super glue with backing soda will be paintable mate, a good primer would help as well
@@genessismodels ok thx
Have you tried Mr. Dissolved Putty (Which is thicker than the Mr. Surfacer 500)?
not tried this one "yet"
I would be interested in a tutorial with surfacer but using aeorgraph... do you have one already published ?
not at the moment but new videos are always coming
Thinn it with 60 thinner for the best result
Cellulose thinners melts plastic though.
