In india this is designated as wdm1 class and has a cult status
Does any one ( KNOW ) what railroad this RS-1 came from ??? I do ! if ? u know put it down in the comments ! i would like to see if any one knows !
Was built for the Lake Erie, Franklin and Clarion Railroad. Sold to the Livonia, Avon and Lakeville Railroad in 1972. Acquired by the museum in 2016.
Why so much white smoke? Is that oil burning before the rings get warm enough to seal?
Cold diesels of this vintage do not burn the full amount of fuel injected until they are warmed up. It's a mechanically fueled locomotive, not like modern EFI engines.
