I had this introspective moment last night where I was like "why as humans do we always want more?" I DESPERATELY wanted Gjon to win and was devastated when he didn't. But then I caught myself and thought, 2 weeks ago I didn't even know this song existed! (personally). So now I am just SO GRATEFUL to eurovision for giving a platform to this song and I am immensely grateful that I lived to see it. Your attitude is admirable ❤ Of course we're disappointed for Gjon, but if we put things into perspective by no means has he "lost". Far from it.
Italy won the audience vote. All of Europe - and this is tens of millions of voices who put Switzerland in 7th place. What "our hearts" are you talking about? Do not generalize, please. And check next time :)

Well remember when Eleni Fureira took the second place at Eurovision but nobody really remembers who took the first? The same here. This was my favourite , but i loved the songs from Italy and Finland too. It's a sign that good music wins and the truth is that we need some rock and roll vibes in this world full of commercial music which all of us after some time don't remember anymore. Rock and roll never dies and for that I'm happy but "tοut le universe" is another universe.🌍

His performance was indeed exceptional. However, he didn't articulated as much as in the music video so I couldn't understand half of what he was saying, even though French is my first language, which was a bit disappointing. Great song and performance still!!

there is always some real music in contest, the problem is many countries during their selection can choose some generic format mediocrity instead of original songs from talented artists.
Just a fact that I realized: The last song in French language that won was in 1988, Celine Dion with Ne partez pas sans moi for Switzerland. Guess this year is a chance to get it back to the winning side.
I'm here after watching Morisi Kvitelashvili compete in the 2022 winter olympics for men's figure skating and he skated to this song and I fell in love with it. I told my daughter that I may not know what he's saying being I'm from the US but the music and his voice is just so beautiful. Needless to say, I must learn about them.
I heard it during the team event the other day and was going crazy trying to find what it was (because also US) until he skated again today in the individual event and they put the song title in a caption! So glad I found it now!

I just heard this song for the first time tonight on the 2022 Bejeing Olympics. One of the male figure skaters (morris kvitelashveli) representing Georgia, living/training in Moscow, skated to this tune and it was beautiful so I had to download it. I had no idea what it said in English but still such a beautiful voice and beautiful song.
I first heard this song during Thursday's semi-final and was absolutely floored. The emotion in his voice that transcends the language barrier was (and still is) overwhelming. We truly have something special here.

Am Italian. Of course I'm happy my country won. But I have to tell you, your song over all the others, gave me an emotion I can't describe. And I'm someone who can't tell to love all music. If victory had been yours, I had been happy the same!
It doesnt matter that I can't understand a word of this song. I actually wish that Eurovision entries were only allowed to sing in their native language. Music is universal, the voice can move us way before the lyrics have any impact.
But at the same time, if you look back, you'll see that the english songs got an unfair advantage. :( And usually specific languages got more votes than others bc the language was considered more "fancy". I think more countries should sing in their native language, but them having no other choice wouldn't be fair either :)

As someone who understand the lyrics, I always have gossbumps all over hearing this, can't stop singing. 2021 was truly incredible in my opinion, better than 2022
Gjon's Tears with "Tout l’Univers", has everything to win Eurovision, a very well orchestrated theme, with a beautiful lyrics and superbly interpreted by the singer. In 2021, we can have a winning song in French again, after 33 years, which occurred in 1988 with Celine Dion, for Switzerland.
And Switzerland’s second win came 32 years after its first (at the very first Contest in 1956)! And both its winning entries to date were sung in French. I thought “Repondez-moi” was a contender to win last year before the 2020 Contest was canceled. This year’s Contest is stacked with a bunch of really good to great songs, in my opinion. We’ll have to see what Iceland ends up sending, but I think some of the countries to watch out for as potential front runners are (in no particular order): - Lithuania 🇱🇹 (song is ridiculously catchy, stage show will be memorable) - Italy 🇮🇹 (Italy brings it just about every year since they’ve returned) - Switzerland 🇨🇭 (Probably one of the best quality songs I’ve heard from this year’s group) - Germany 🇩🇪 (the stage show will make or break this one, but Jendrik has tons of charisma) - San Marino 🇸🇲 (yes, I’m including them...easily their best song they’ve sent, may get a lot of fan support in the televote) - Iceland 🇮🇸 (depending on how good the song is) This should be a fun Contest to see play out.

The lyrics "Je vois derrière nous des morceaux de toi" which means "I see behind us pieces of you" and "Nos deux cœurs sous la terre" which means "Our two hearts under the earth" are so powerful. Those lines hit me in the right spot in my brain.
Staging is key. If he tries the " sitting keyboard" performance thing then No.. not winning. No one can win Eurovision by doing the same thing as the last winner
Considering the fact that Switzerland threw out two masterpieces in a row, they definitely deserve to win. Because it‘s surely not easy to overcome the expectations..

Another artist who had large shoes to fill compared to last year: his own. He delivered. I'm still attached to Répondez Moi but I believe I might equally like or maybe even prefer this entry in the future. I'm really glad he tried ánd was able to capture the same feeling and sound like in Répondez Moi, but still delivering a distinctively different song. That's a hard thing to do! Definitely top 10 material, maybe more. I would advise him to use the same surprising imagery like in the video. The video was, to me, quite a surprise that a car crash had happened. That might come as a shock to the random Eurovision tv viewer, but would surely make an impact and grab your attention even harder. I have nothing bad to say about this, which is exceptional. Love, Belgium.

I'm here after watching Morisi Kvitelashvili compete in the 2022 winter olympics for men's figure skating and he skated to this song and I fell in love with it. I told my daughter that I may not know what he's saying being I'm from the US but the music and his voice is just so beautiful. Needless to say, I must learn about them.
I heard it during the team event the other day and was going crazy trying to find what it was (because also US) until he skated again today in the individual event and they put the song title in a caption! So glad I found it now!

I just heard this song for the first time tonight on the 2022 Bejeing Olympics. One of the male figure skaters (morris kvitelashveli) representing Georgia, living/training in Moscow, skated to this tune and it was beautiful so I had to download it. It doesnt matter that I can't understand a word of this song. I actually wish that Eurovision entries were only allowed to sing in their native language.
Music is universal, the voice can move us way before the lyrics have any impact.
But at the same time, if you look back, you'll see that the english songs got an unfair advantage. :( And usually specific languages got more votes than others bc the language was considered more "fancy". I think more countries should sing in their native language, but them having no other choice wouldn't be fair either :)

2021 was truly incredible in my opinion, better than 2022

Gjon's Tears with "Tout l’Univers", has everything to win Eurovision, a very well orchestrated theme, with a beautiful lyrics and superbly interpreted by the singer. In 2021, we can have a winning song in French again, after 33 years, which occurred in 1988 with Celine Dion, for Switzerland.
And Switzerland’s second win came 32 years after its first (at the very first Contest in 1956)! And both its winning entries to date were sung in French. I thought “Repondez-moi” was a contender to win last year before the 2020 Contest was canceled.
This year’s Contest is stacked with a bunch of really good to great songs, in my opinion. We’ll have to see what Iceland ends up sending, but I think some of the countries to watch out for as potential front runners are (in no particular order):
- Lithuania 🇱🇹 (song is ridiculously catchy, stage show will be memorable)
- Italy 🇮🇹 (Italy brings it just about every year since they’ve returned)
- Switzerland 🇨🇭 (Probably one of the best quality songs I’ve heard from this year’s group)
- Germany 🇩🇪 (the stage show will make or break this one, but Jendrik has tons of charisma)
- San Marino 🇸🇲 (yes, I’m including them...easily their best song they’ve sent, may get a lot of fan support in the televote)
- Iceland 🇮🇸 (depending on how good the song is)
This should be a fun Contest to see play out.
And tout l'univers is produced and co-written by the same producer and songwriter as Arcade by duncan laurence 🎆

The lyrics "Je vois derrière nous des morceaux de toi" which means "I see behind us pieces of you" and "Nos deux cœurs sous la terre" which means "Our two hearts under the earth" are so powerful. Those lines hit me in the right spot in my brain.

He delivered. I'm still attached to Répondez Moi but I believe I might equally like or maybe even prefer this entry in the future. I'm really glad he tried ánd was able to capture the same feeling and sound like in Répondez Moi, but still delivering a distinctively different song. That's a hard thing to do! Definitely top 10 material, maybe more. I would advise him to use the same surprising imagery like in the video. The video was, to me, quite a surprise that a car crash had happened. That might come as a shock to the random Eurovision tv viewer, but would surely make an impact and grab your attention even harder.
I have nothing bad to say about this, which is exceptional.

@@Joraultechy Although I can enjoy the occasional "acid trip entry" as long as it's not too much like low point Dustin The Turkey. That's what's so enjoyable about Eurovision: anything goes and that diversity the last couple of years is what has made the contest even more popular.
