With Teri Hatcher being there in the tent just shows how global this show is around the world. This show is a national treasure and so is Hatcher. You can tell she loves to bake and is like a kid in a candy store while she’s there.
I certainly can't speak for all Americans, but the show is popular enough here in the States that the Netflix webcast is consistently one of the top most viewed programs, and we even "borrowed" the format with a show called "Making It," hosted by Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler.
Not sure if many that didn't grow up in the UK know this but Teri is pretty well known here from the adventures of Lois and Clark. It's weird but in a way I consider her a UK celebrity.
I'm not really familiar with British celebs outside of comedians on panel shows, but Perri seems like a really likeable chap. Really funny, too. His line about ganache was charming, but "I can only count to eight" was hilarious.
You might like to check out the dance group Diversity who were on Britain's Got Talent. Absolutely amazing - and Perri, who was about a foot and a half shorter back then, was one of the highlights.
I’ll give it to her: on these charity events, she does her research and tries to go in as prepared as possible. It’s the impression I got after seeing her on Chopped, which I think she won there.
5:31 is probably my favorite batch so far. All of them were so chaotic and clumsy and also hilarious. Even the star baker was having some problems during the technical challenge but managed to nail the recipe. All of them also did great in the Showstopper ❤
@@telectronix1368 not to mention...are they not allowed to use oven thermometers? I am by NO means a "baker" but I use one just to make sure the temp is correct even when I am making frozen tater tots.
That's the issue with using equipment that isn't yours, especially with ovens. Different ovens have different hotspots and temperature swings even if it is the same brand or model. That's why most recipes give you visual and/or sound cues, for when it's done or tells you to do the tooth pick method.
Oh, my freakin' god - this is the funniest stuff ever. Since I can't get the full episodes here in the US, I'll just have to queue up about a hundred of these clips and laugh myself into exhaustion.
I could be wrong, but I swear to god I heard the speed on Stacey's mixer go up after she said "What the hell Noel! Turn it off!" Noel is such a troublemaker, I love watching him interact with the bakers 😊
If it had been anyone else that would have sounded sexy... but then its Camilla Parker Bowles and I was like "You brought a horse to a private island?"

@@baguettegott3409 uhhh well no you aren’t correct. Diversity is a dance group that was on Britain’s got Talent years ago. OMG biscuits and gravy. When I first came to live in America, I heard my friend talking about it. She made a magnificent sausage gravy smothered covered giant flakey biscuits (like scones, but so much better). It was addictive. My friends who visited gained so much weight when they left for back home. Now I am vegan and can make a good substitute, but it will never be the same as the delicious southern food.
