Im getting one around fathers day, i am super stoked. The 2023 model though!
That's so cool, I'm jealous that 23 model year looks awesome!
@@AnthonyMedina I've put 2500 miles on it and loving it thus far
As an owner of a hawk 250 with 8k miles, I need something that can actually pass a car doing 45. If I even attempt it, they speed up and I have no chance. I am admittedly a pretty aggressive rider who hates slow drivers. This video is what I needed to see! Thank you for posting, I’m sold now! I fell in love with the bmw 850 but don’t have that kind of bank account or a wife who would support that lol. She likes the price and it seems enough power for me.
You can find good deals on used KLR650s. I got mine, a 2015, in very good shape for $3,400. Don't waste money on China bikes.
Good video. I bought mine and love it so far. I also love that when I order things from CSC like my first service oil change and whatnot, they sent it that same day. If i call them, they answer. I can talk to a knowledge person right away. Love it.
Lake Apopka is a great place. We have been there many times>
What a fine motorcycle you have. I think people in the world, are getting over the stigmatizing affects of something made in China. I hope you have incredible adventures on this bike, all the best!
the Stigma was once Made in Germany. Then It was Made In Japan. Now it's Made in China. honestly if it works it shouldn't really matter where it comes from unless it's like North Korea and their Slave camps. That I'd have a problem with.
What I’m curious about is could you ride a bike like this on fire roads in the mountains, or take it to an off road vehicle park? I rode street bikes for years (from 650 up to 1700) but gave it up when my son was born. Now he’s old enough to ride a dirt bike, but a dual sport that I could take out on the street from time to time is appealing, especially for the cost. But I need to be able to ride the trails with him.
Congrats on the new bike. I’ve been looking at these for a while but info is hard to find. I love my dlx but have quickly realized I’m drawn more towards the adventure side. Please keep us posted on your new ride it looks amazing.
Thanks! and will do, yea I still really enjoy the hawk and there's more videos to come on that too lol, sometimes I just wish I had a little bit more power lol
What info you looking for? I have a 2020 I just sold, put 30k miles on it. I should be able to answer any question you have about it.
@@dr.bherrin how do you purchase these in the states are there dealers are is it order and ship type of thing
Congrats on the new bike, brother. Looks clean 👍🏼
Thanks!!!
Even though neutral is hard to find while it is running, you could almost consider it a safety feature. Accidentally going from first to neutral when accelerating from a stop could not end well. Maybe after the break in period it will go into neutral from second gear easier? You have had this bike for a while now, is it still difficult to find neutral while it is running?
I have a Hawk 250 DLX and I like that neutral is hard to find when the engine is running
My Ducati is hard to find neutral when running and not moving. I hate it.
Enjoy it! Beautiful and amazing bike.
Did you check out the rx6 from CSC
BMW logo emblem over the CSC, great idea, ha!
I'm not worried about the weight or the power of the bike, I'm just worried about the comments about the clutch problem.
I think I still have certain prejudices about the quality of manufacturing and the Off-Road behavior of this specific model.
I will continue to focus on getting an older generation 2016 Vstorm XT 😅
Greetings, congratulations for your work on this channel👊🙌
Any cared for V-Storm is solid. Have an 05 that keeps on running!
The Hawk is a bit hefty for what it is, but they weigh a bit more than 300lbs. 450lbs is quite a bit heavier, but it also has 3 times the power. I've been considering an RX4 as a commuter bike, and its nice to see you like it so far. How does it do with highway duty?
It's pretty good, it likes to cruise around 75-80 and it's still got alot of passing power too. It's super planted at that speed too. Thanks 😄
How can you do a review without hills to climb?
when breaking in an engine you should never lug the engine .... ever.... in any break in procedure I've ever read about
that is one of the things they all agree on...... you were lugging the engine on the back roads...shift down and get the RPM's up !
J.F.Y.I...
I plan to get a 2021 RX4 soon.... as well.... stay safe!
I don't think he was lugging teh engine - are you thinking at 3:00 - 5:00 in the vid? He was on gravel going 20 mph so looks fine to me. Any faster and he would probably be fishtailing and maybe sliding off the road, he has skills above typical for a beginner.
What kind of mirrors are those?
sorry for the late reply, I just got some circular mirrors off amazon. Here's a link to the ones that I ordered. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081CS4PC5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Hey man..I'm getting a 2023 rx4! Had a TBR7 250..same story hah! What was your prep like after unboxing your bike? Is it advised to change oils or is the recommended types already good to go so you can just fill up the tank and go ?
Sorry this is such a late reply😅 How do you like your bike so far? there wasn't any prep I rolled it right off the truck, it does come with break-in oil so I recommend riding it for about 100 miles and then change it. I use 20w-50 just because Florida is super hot most the year.
Can you please explain why the bike couldn’t go into neutral ??
Thanks for your honest and revealing research into this Chinese marvel. It is amazing to find out how many manufacturers source parts from China. Your reference to some other well known ones with parts made from this one is quite revealing. Thanks.
Do they have other options for it like a crash pan for protection along the bottom of the engine, what about gearing do they sell different size sprockets for front and rear and what about parts availability and if something happens to your bike where are you going to take it if you bought it from California and there's no dealers in Florida? I know most bike shops would scoff at bringing in an off-brand Chinese knockoff like that. I love the bike I just see issues dealing with repairs and replacement.
Csc sells those items on there website the shipping is really fast too! I do all the work myself but I know they're currently looking for authorized service centers to work with that'll be interesting. It's definitely still a chinese bike so I think for the time being you have to plan to work on your own bike, but I'm already used to that 😄
I see this vid was 2 years ago. If you still have it did the transmission get smoother? Could be the clutch cable needed adjustment when new. Looks solid.
It did get smoother toward the end, I've since sold it, but it was a great bike overall, super reliable and tons of fun!
where is this in FL? Nice back roads
This is in Apopka, its called the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive 😄
Thinking about getting this as my first bike, any thoughts?
If you don't have experience on 2 wheels it can be alittle intimidating to approach but that's kind of common with ADV bikes since they're alittle bit heavier and taller, but if you really want to get into ADV bikes this is probably the easiest to get comfortable with in the segment plus it don't break the bank! Its really comes down to practice practice practice! And learn all the fundamentals! 😄 hope that helped alittle! Have fun and ride safe out there! 🤘
@@AnthonyMedina thank you for your help.
Hey buddy how much was the shipping ?
Nice man! I’m really enjoying mine.
Thanks for your video... what trail is that? Looks really nice.. I'm down in south florida!
Nice bike 👍🏻 Congrats!!
ride safe and enjoy!
Power delivery is usually pretty smooth when the machine has very little to deliver.
is there an aftermarket exhaust for this?
Yo tony ! Did they ship it to you in a box??
Do you think this is a better bike then the Himalayan?
I seriously thought about this bike. But can't put a center stand on it. Deal breaker for me.
Yea I was kinda hoping for one too, I almost got the rx3 for that reason
This may be a dumb question but why does csc only charge a deposit up front to ship why not charge it all at once
I have a Lifan X-Pect (first ever bike), only been riding for a bit over a week. Anyway, it's the exact same as your RX4 with regards to getting into neutral. When the bike is running, you can forget about it. But if you shut it off it shifts right in to neutral no problem. All that aside, I'm curious how much riding experience you had before getting your RX4? As I mentioned earlier, I'm a new rider, but I'm already starting to feel like my X-Pect doesn't have as much power as I'd like; but at the same time I don't want to get into something too big for my skill level.
Hey what happend to the hawk videos
Still more coming! I'm going to trailer it out to a trail in my last subaru video and rip it around the swamp 😄 I plan on filming it this Thursday!
wheres that?
Thats the Lake Apopka loop! It's super easy but pretty fun to do some scenic riding
@@AnthonyMedina some offer me an Rx3 really cheap, in excellent condition, I´m looking to travel from Chile to Alaska in a Chinese motorcycle and that's a pretty place to visit and stay for couple weeks.
Yo so I got like 700 miles. Why is there a flashing wrench? Is that a service interval light? How do I reset it? Or diagnose it etc.
You might be able to disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes, if it's the new 21' model year it has the new tft display so I may be in one of the menus, I'd reach tk csc support too they're really responsive 😄
@@AnthonyMedina I messaged them and waiting on a response. Not sure but I’m pretty sure it’s a maintenance light not connected to anything. Cause the engine symbol is another light elsewhere that shuts off when started like a normal bike
Would you suggest this as someone's first bike? I've just recently looked into CSC and it seems possible to me. Thanks!
Nice video, i have a TT 250, love the little thing but i think im ordering one of these for 2021 model, what is the top comfortable cruising speed of the RX4??
Nice!! I would say comfortable cruising speed around 75-80mph indicated, I'm 190lbs also, hope that helps yea that new one has got the tft display which is really cool 😄
Where did you buy the bike here in CF?
Let me know please
Hey actually ordered it from cscmotorcycles.com/
Did ya give any thought about the aluminum rims??
I thought about it but I kinda like that tubed tires are pretty easto change, but on the other hand no maintenance lol
Yours has tubes? I was looking at CSC's website and the 2021 RX4 has tubeless spoke wheels. The spokes are mounted to the outer edge of the rim, rather than into the rim, like a traditional spoke. Pretty high-end feature for a Chinese bike...stuff you see on a full size Yamaha Ténéré
@@AnthonyMedina sorry about my earlier comment. I didn't realize until I did a little more research that CSC has made some really nice upgrades on the RX4 for 2021. The rims are different now and run tubeless tires and it has a huge TFT display, rather than the analog tach from 2020.
@@scotteger6271 No worries 😄 that new dash Is amazing I might have to figure out a way to install it my bike 😂
@@AnthonyMedina I hope CSC keeps improving. I'm a root for the underdog kind of guy and I'd like to see them succeed.
Speedo seems way off? What is your real world sustainable top speed?
On the highway it's 70 to 75mph comfortably I haven't hit top speed yet but I got it up to about 99mph I think it was still pulling just a bit
@@AnthonyMedina thank you. Please reply back when you do have the info. Average highway speed here in Phoenix is about 85 so I truly need it to do 90 without issue for passing etc. if it can’t do that I’ll have to pass on buying one
At 90mph she'll be screamin 😂 it'll do it but not very comfy honestly
Is this a good bike for a first-time buyer, new-ish rider? I have only ridden a Honda Rebel 250cc before.
I think it's a pretty good choice, it's alittle big but easy to get used too especially if you want to get into adv bikes 😁
@@AnthonyMedina What is the resell value of this bike? Easy to sell? I haven't seen any used CSC bikes.
@@ntabonkerleo I'm not sure about that one, they're definitely not as common.
Love the new bike tho 😍
Thanks! 😄
Thanks for sharing your RX4 review and was seriously considering buying one. Can you explain your thoughts on the Clutch operation in detail compared to standard Japanese metric bikes of the same Size approx? Does it grab in a non linear manner? Is your Clutch adjusted per factory instructions ? I am really trying to pin down the specific reason people might complain about the clutch on this bike. Please share a comment if you found the cause and fixed it.
Thanks!! It felt like when releasing the clutch, it would grab randomly at different points in the release, not very linear is a good way to describe it. Now that's I've put some miles on it, I don't notice it anymore, IDK if I've just gotten used to it or it's broken in. hope that helps 😄
@@AnthonyMedina I think that clutch issue may be related to dealer and or manufacturer using cheap automotive oil with different low friction properties compared to motorcycle oils and your comments give me insight into why the clutch would operate smoother after a few oil changes with proper motorcycle oil with the proper friction blend for a wet clutch,
Grabby clutch???? suspect it’s the oil. Change out to Shell’s Rotella T4 15w 40. it’s formulated for wet clutches…
It got way better over time IDK if I just got used to it but it definitely got better after a few oil changes.
Farkles?
It's apparently like mods or addons lol I saw it on alot of forums 😂
What is your top speed? Wondering if I can take it on CA freeways?
Idk yet, but the speedo is about 5mph off, I got it up to 60mph really comfortably with plenty more to offer. I'll keep you updated once I take it on the highway!
@matty d 100 miles on the speedo ? that would be 90 on the gps rite?
@Paul Gendron Top speed 95+ California freeways no problem
I know I'm a little late here, but did the problems finding neutral get better after an oil change? I have a hyosung 250 that is hard to get neutral when the oil is getting worn. Also how's highway speed feel from a wind and stability standpoint?
Neutral isnpretty easy to find as long as you're rolling, but from a stop it won't want to go to neutral while the bike is running
Just curious. How many oil changes have you done?
@@sethmcclelland9969 just one so far, I just had a pretty big offroad trip so I got some more filters and oil on the way!
Hopefully the next oil change will help it go to neutral while stopped. It worked with my bike. If it does, make sure to leave an update!
what is the top speed sir?
I've haven't made it there yet 😅 It cruises at 85mph nicely with plenty more, some people have gotten it up to 100+
may i ask about the top speed of this bike since i will order its engine (nc450)
Yea I've gotten it up to an indicated 88mph but the speedo isn't very accurate, it felt like it had alittle bit more to go to
the nc250 could do 130-135 kph 81-85mph on gps , this bike should be 90gps base on the nc250 performance since i dont have the bike yet, im trying to do engine swap for the rx3 with the rx4 engine
@@Coldbreathful that's awesome! Sounds like you got a lot of work ahead of you 😄 Good luck keep me posted!
I know that place. Are you in Orlando?
@@gaspasser I am 😄 lived here all my life its a pretty cool little wildlife spot, good sight seeing!
Not sure about why you drove on the left side of the road for soooooooo long! I was nervous for you lol
so basically a Chinese KLR?
More like a Chinese BMW
Its like a BMW KLR 450 GS 😂
Thats not a bad looking ride.... get me thinking
Thanks! I like it so far, I'll keep you updated if anything changes 😁
Is yours gun metal??
Yea! everyone seems to get the orange, so I figured I'd be alittle different lol
I want one now 😭
Hey this is virus. I am soooo sorry I have not sent you a video or been watching your videos I have lost someone in my family and I also have been so busy with school but as soon as I can I’ll send you a video I was also trying to wate till I get my hawk very soon but as always love the vids man
No need to apologize! The videos optional😄 I'm sorry for loss I hope your doing ok.
if it wasn't for the diesel engine we wouldn't see the bike, kudos diesel
😂
That's a lot of bike for $5k.
Was contemplated to buy this chinese bike but changed my mind after the Wuhan virus hit home from China...
Was going to like but it's at 69 sooo.....
I ain't even mad 😂😂
Once you buy this, you're stuck with it. Nobody wants to service them or own used ones.
