Hippo Lakes Tent Tour & Review (with missing info)

A tour of the Hippo Lakes Buffalo Luxury Tent in Waterberg, South Africa (and missing information)
We won a trip to this place in an auction and didn’t know what which safari camp we were bidding on. After completing the transaction, we learned that Hippo Lakes sends its profits to an evangelical Christian organization called Teach Every Nation, which trains pastors to make more money from their parishioners and spread their message through third world countries.
This organization was created by Bruce Wilkinson, a wealthy prosperity gospel author.

Please note that we were treated very well at Hippo Lakes. Everyone was lovely, the property is beautiful, and though we had some problems, the only reason we’re not recommending Hippo Lakes is because we don’t agree with missionary work nor prosperity gospel, and we feel that this purpose should be revealed before people commit to visiting this place. If you don’t mind supporting those causes, you can have a lovely time here.

Excellent review Jeff. I would be fuming if I had to wait in a van while other people did an excursion on the way to my accommodations after a 15 hour flight.

Thanks! To be fair, we didn’t have to wait in the van, but sat on the porch of the place with the elephants. It wasn’t an unpleasant place to be, but we would have rather not been forced to be there.
