His songs still give me chills. He is so under rated. He was wonderful in concert & studio. A true poet! When I asked him to sign "Bad Luck Streak in Dancing School" he joked that I was one of the 100 people who even bought it.
Having been his publicist in the early to late nineties. Warren was a class act who always did music on his own terms. Good to see this set again. Thanks immediate family members Waddy and Leland
In the late-nineties, did he ever consider (or try to get signed by) DreamWorks? Who (if anyone) recommended him to Artemis (did Artemis approach him or vice-versa?)? Thank you so much.

i went to a show on this tour, if you smoke a fat one and watch this guy perform, he is outrageous , funny and mad crazy rock and roll. amazing thank for sharing this.
My family travelled to England in '78, and Werewolves was everywhere. My brother bought Excitable Boy and even at the age of 10, I was baffled as to why Warren's other music was neglected in comparison. As I got older, it became tragically clear. Give me the underdogs and the contrarians every time.
I was so lucky to find the most influential song writer in my life by chance. There was a record store in KC Mo called Tiger records that sold albums $2.00 per vinyl. So I would spend a major chunk of my check each week just based on the covers. I loved the pict on the back of album along with all folks on the album. What a wonderful find!!! I still listen to Warren at weekly.
I saw Warren at The Riviera in Chicago and couldn't help but sing with him the whole show. I couldn't speak for 2 days after that. Later, when I was living in Denver, CO, I caught him at the Fox Theater. Now that he is gone, I treasure those memories. I miss you Buddy!
I saw Warren live at the Bridge Hotel, Rozelle in 1992. We were 10 feet from the stage. My wife Lisa, and our friend Adele sat on the bar. I've seen most of my favourites and this was pretty good. More importantly, it was WARREN ZEVON (!) and we were within speaking (ok, shouting) distance. Play it All Night Long, Desperadoes Under The Eaves, Roland etc., just a genius. A highlight of my life for sure.
@@TheShazzza That is a shame. I saw him at First Avenue in Minneapolis. That's the club where Prince rose to fame. I think Warren was already dying of cancer when I saw him. He was amazing.

This is fantastic. What a great sound the band had. They pulled off Excitable Boy brilliantly even though the female backing vocals were missing. Werewolves of London and Lawyers, Guns and Money were my personal highlights.
I only got to see Warren once, in the North London Town & Country. a night I'll never forget. Who else could write a song about a Boxer, a broken down car, and the Rosarita Beach Cafe.? also those perfect harmonies with Phil Everly.
Oh man, me too! I was about thirteen when he died. Never got the chance. My mom saw him once on her own, and then she and my dad saw him again. I think the first concert was before he got sober and the other was after? My mom described him as a wild man on stage when she first saw him.
I echo a lot of you, just found this this evening. I would have loved to seen him at this stage or any stage for that matter but absolutely have always loved all the writing from Bad Luck Streak. Miss him, an amazing prolific soul. Thanks for posting. Pleased to know David Landau was playing on this, thought so.
Neil and Warren. The only pre-'76 rockers who transitioned with authenticity into the post-'76 world of Johnny Rotten, Joe Strummer and the slew who followed. I once made a 90 minute mix tape of (what I considered to be) Warren's greatest hits and I titled it "Sweat, Piss, Jizz, and Blood." Needless to say, it got some reactions whenever people were browsing through the case of cassettes I had in my car.

If there was ever an Unsung Hero of Rock and Roll, it is Warren Zevon. Long live Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner!
