I actually met him twice.....I remember it was my 21st birthday and my BFFS took me to Nawlins to the House Of Blues cuz they knew I adored Zevon and he was playing there. I said all I wanted for my birthday was a hug from him. I was TANKED! One of the girls told one of his Security...damned if he didnt announce "We have a Cajun girl having her 21st bday. She says she wants a hug...and I never disappoint a lady. He hugged me-TIGHT- and kissed my cheek. I WILL *NEVER* FORGET THAT HUG AND KISS. NOT EVER. ALL THESE YEARS ON...I REMEMBER HIS SCENT..THE LAUGHTER IN HIS EYES.. LIVE FOREVER, PIANO FIGHTER!!!
I’m so glad that Warren is finally getting in The Rock&Roll Hall of Fame! As he’s been so deserving of this for a long time now,as his career has been nothing short of spectacular! He’s a true Warrior Poet! And his songwriting has produced a catalogue full of great and wonderful songs! His lifestyle was well known,but even during all the chaos? He still managed to have a lengthy career with many highs and lows,but he sadly passed away from Cancer but even that didn’t stop him from releasing a final album that was full of his ironic wit and beautiful melodies and whether it was satire or just plain being who he was? But the cover of Bob Dylan’s knocking on Heaven’s Door was a masterful take on the classic,and given his predicament? Rather poignant! Like many of his songs showed a true artist who is loved by his fans and peers!
I have this CD...with the liner notes signed by The Man Himself. See...CD liner notes R small..EZ to take to a concert.....JIC I got close enough to get it signed. I DID. AND WARREN DID. AND THE SUN WENT NOVA THAT DAY. LIVE 4EVER, PIANO FIGHTER. THERE'LL NEVER BE ANOTHER YOU!
Not a bad song in the lot. I have been a fan for many years I saw him in concert T the Main Line in Philly back in 96, I think. Sooo good live. I miss his quirky clever songs like a gift they are. Thank you UTube.
A great album except for the castrated version of 'Lawyers, Guns, and Money'. (They took out the entire final verse, instead of simply bleeping out one word.)
