I was first introduced to the musical genius of Warren Zevon by my dearly departed friend Dave Adams. I am forever grateful to him for this great gift he bestowed on me. Now they are together hopefully hitting on the waitresses in heaven.
@@eventtradingI don't understand where people get this information from. Underrated and underappriciated. I read this crap every day! Expand your mind! Get off the couch. Get in touch with reality and maybe even try some acid! Idk.
Personally, I'd like to thank RUclips for putting an ad in the middle of every song . Thanks guys, you made listening to this album a magical experience.
Wonderful to rediscover Warren again at this point in my life, pure genius. Can see why he was contemporaries with Jackson Browne, Eagles, Bruce, Ronstadt and others. He was a (tortured I believe) genius. An amazing singer songwriter - I look forward to listening again in the years to come
“Enjoy every sandwich” Thanks to Marsha for turning me on to his wonderful art- a live killer, as well as a introspective and confessional writer with razor sharp dry wit ❤ We will not soon have another soon 😢
From start to finish, one of the strongest collections of songs of the 1970s. Up there with Dylan, Joni, Neil, and Steely Dan. Not to mention the Nick Drakes of the world.
This is probably my island album. Wish you were here and American 2 and 3 are as good. So is Southeastern. Puppets of course and Born in the USA. Oh yeah, Golden Earring's last one "T and A"! It's a short list!
Love that album cover fusion of John Denver glasses in a Steve Jobs profile, and the musical ballad influence from Gordon Lightfoot. It's too bad his 1 hit wonder in America was Werewolves of London. My mother would have loved this album since she was a Lightfoot fan and passed on to me lots of war memories Zevon sings about. "I need a truck" both down to earth, poignantly sad yet humorous at the same time would have been a good group song for my whole family at that time 😅. I think the next time I practise a sea shanty I'll choose Lawyer Guns and Money because he updates both the theme and the notion of what a sea shanty is all about.❤"Midnight at the Switching Yard" could very well be a great ballad for Gen Z having to choose a Trade instead of college during these times ...love that Soul Train influence he utilizes in it. 😊
@@graceisamazing5493 I used to assume that people who listen to Warren Zevon are more musically literate than most, so it's almost shocking how willing you are to display such profound ignorance when it comes to Zappa.
This album would be perfect but then Nighttime in the Switching Yard! Every other song is a classic and could be a single but then there is this filler track.
Hi Friends - The audio issue on this upload has been fixed. Enjoy this superb record.
Thankyou, Johnny, for striking up the band 😊
Did you ever see Warren. I had the chance to but had to work and regret it.

Wassup toe cutter sir
press f5 That will reset everthing .It works well for movies ,but not so much for music
Absolutely gold in my opinion...Send Lawyers,Guns, and Money...The schit has hit the fan...
Zevon might be "good enough" for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but he certainly sits at the table at music's Mount Olympus.
"He'll rip your lungs out Jim"
So poetic!
Thank you Dave Letterman for being a fan and a friend of Warren Zevon, and so making me a fan also.
“Enjoy every sandwich” ❤️
Thank you, Warren
Hooked on Zevon from Mt first listening. A true musical genius, I'll tell you what.
I just discovered this guy - wow! And thank you
Me too, I mean this year
Zappa and Zevon the only two Z words in Rock and Roll
1978 - A rare exquisite vintage for analog music by pure artists. Bring us another era, please God!
So many gems in here hard to believe...got it in summer of '78'...

Zevon, gone but not forgotten. 2024, still howl in’ to the Zman. Hugh! Peace. Out. Ahooooooo!
Hunter s Thompson brought me to Warren in his book kingdom of fear, I'm forever grateful

Good choice!
wanted dead or alive dude, cool, werewolves of london is brilliant
The Z man is so special. Gone way too soon. Peace. Out.
After flirting with the werewolf myself I can say that tune he wrote when he knew the end will Tear your heart out Jim . excitable man genius!
I worked with combat veterans with PTSD for 7 years, 11 months. The score is never settled.

I came. I saw. I liked. But I couldn't hear anything?
Same here.
I couldn’t either.
No AUDIO😢
No audio but I search for the lyrics all I can say 😮rude song🦋🌹😇
Can we get some fucking audio on this please?
Frank Zappa wishes he could have written genius stuff like this
You're correct in realizing this is genius stuff, but nah...I'm pretty sure he doesn't. Chocolate doesn't wish it was peanut butter.
Zappa was too busy grossing people out & breaking guitars to be this good.
