Thanks bro! I appreciate you demonstrating this procedure done with the tools and jacking options most of us will be using in our garage/driveways. I did not loosen or detach any control arms in my install and had no problems. Also a rubber mallet is useful in seating the rear spacer. 2007 JK - X 2DR
Fantastic two part video. You inspired this 46 year old to take on the challenge of doing this install alone. As one commenter noted, it was a bit safer to use jack stands to support the Jeep and then drop the axel with support of the floor jack. I did have to adjust the drag link on mine. Not sure why some installs need it and others don't. I didn't bother to loosen the control arms but, I did loosen the rear track bar for the drivers side. Took me about 5 hours on my 2012 with lots of grime. The rear sway bar links were a bear! Big help from project JK for torque specs.
I followed your instructions for my 2014 Willy's Wheeler JKU to the letter. Your instructions were spot on!!! Thank you very much for posting such a helpful video. I love the look of my jeep now. Going to order the Spidertrax spacers tonight. Now that I have the lift installed, the spacers are a must.
Thanks for the two-part install series. They saved me some good $$ by doing it myself rather than having a shop install it for me. As for the 18mm socket dilemma those future installers that doesn't have this size on their set can do away with the 3/4 SAE, as long as it's a six-point socket. And i vice grip works wonders too.
Thank you. Word of advice, though, never use a calibrated tool like a torque wrench to break loose, or loosen, a bolt or nut. I hope to use what you showed to help a buddy install his leveling kit.
Thank you! Excellent helpful videos! I just happen to have had both the leveling kit and Spidertrax sitting in boxes in my garage waiting for install one day. A search of youtube and there you were with all the confidence inspiring info I needed. I took your tip and did one corner at a time which worked out great for me! I chose not to loosen front track bars and have had no problems with that choice. A little wd40 at each potential binding site on the track bar ends might have helped with that. Took this 46 yr. old woman a total of about 6 hours work and the purchase of a new higher lift floor jack :-) My 4 door Rubicon now feels and drives like he is "growing up"! Nice! Now to not throw a hip out getting in...lol
gone 2trackin So awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing the feedback! And it's amazing how much this changes the look, eh? I don't think video or pictures really capture that!
Very helpful videos. I installed the Teraflex leveling kit on my 2013 JKUR this weekend, front yesterday and rear today. Only comment is I found it easier to use the jack stand on the frame rail and floor jack on the axle. Seemed a lot safer that way to me. Tried the first corner your way but the vehicle shifted too much raising and lowering all the time.
Great videos. Thanks for the very clear step-by-step. I'd been waiting for a friend to be my second set of hands on the leveling kit installation. Your videos convinced me that I didn't need the assistance. The whole thing went precisely as you described it and filled in crucial blanks that the Teraflex video left wide open. Thanks!
Thank you. I used these videos and other research on forums to install this kit. With my son I was able to do it in just under 3 hours. We did not loosen the track bars. If I see any negative issue do to that I will post. Thanks again!
You sir win the internet. This makes more sense and looks easier than the other methods I have seen done, especially without having to mess with the drive shaft... Its too bad the engineers don't ever take shade tree mechanics into thought when making their instructions.
Did you have to align your steering wheel when finished? And it looks like you didn't have to disconnect the drive shaft like in the teraflex vid. Thanks
I wanted to do the same kind of video with my 99 tj leveling kit, but 6 hours in to the first wheel well I realized everything is rusted solid and brought it to a mechanic lol
Nice video first, second are you at all worried about any warranty problems. We have all read about the potential issues related to this.I have a sahara unlimited that I'm dying to mod a little.Just afraid of being told I lost the powertrain warranty for changing out a shock.Ty
You mentioned not having to worry about the Rubicon model's locker wiring. Can you be more specific? I've got 12' Rubicon I'm about to do this same thing on. Hoping everything pops lose okay.
In your opinion. Could you get enough droop without loosening the track bar and control arms to get the front spacers in without the use of spring compressor? Also is there any specification on what grease to use on the sway bar links?
Great set of videos, thanks for taking the time to do this. I do have a question for you. It looks like later you put 35's on the jeep. Do you see any signs or hear any rubbing or bottoming out?
Well done man! 👌🏻 and thanks this is really going to help me I got a 2015 I’m doing the exact same thing parts arrive this week, did you have any issues with the spacers? I order the same ones as well.
I was thinking about doing the same exact thing to my 2013 2-door jeep to get rid of the rake as well. are those rubber "pucks" added above the coils bad for the jeep at all in the long run? I've heard some things about having to get new coils eventually. Any information is appreciated.
Thanks for your helpful video! I plan on installing 1" Teraflex coil spacers in the front only. Do you think I still need to loosen those upper and lower control arm bolts?
Peacemaker because people are lazy. you don't need to do half the stuff in this video if you just use spring compressors. there free to rent from auto zone lol. literally
Thanks for the videos, did the same stuff on my 15 WW using your videos as a guide. Couldn't have done it w/o your help! Question for you, I have a slight rattle, or wiggle in the suspension over small bumps, doesn't really have an impact on the handling or anything just an annoying feel, Jeep has only 4k miles on it. Are you experiencing anything like this? I have had an alignment done and it's still there. Again, it's really nothing more than a rattle feel. Any suggestions?
Hmmm. I don't have anything like that. Been wheeling 4 times since the install and it's still solid. I'd go thorough and double check everything that was touched. Make sure all bolts are tight and properly torqued. Make sure the spacers and springs are seated fully.
+OVERCLOCK3D - JKU Thanks, some instructions say too. Going to try your method instead of lowering the axle this weekend. To be honest this seems like a better approach.
Im not sure if i have the balls to do this.. i have the same 2017 willy and consider it as "almost" rubicon. I dont need lockers that's why i chose willys. 3.73 and suspension same as rubicon. You said you are no mechanic. Did you rent tools?

Thanks for this video! It's super helpful for the 'regular guy' that doesn't have access to a lift!

Thank you. Very well done and very well explained. Looking forward to Part 2.
Good vid. I just ordered the same parts, I'll definitely be using this video once the parts come in to install myself.
Great Vid, I just installed the kit with my buddy this past weekend. This video really helped get me prepared!
Glad I found this channel. I have been following your other channel on the overclocked build
Nice work! I think I will just lift the front by 1" and leave the back stock. I just want to take the rake out.
This little lift makes the jeep look like the way it should come from the factory .
Agree!!!
Great Video! I watched a whole bunch looking for tips but yours was the best! like you, I dont have a hoist. Thanks For posting! Happy Trails . . .
Great video man! I'm going to try the same setup (except for the spacers) on my 2015 JKU Sahara. Cheers!
Thanks for this video. I just put the same kit on my 2013 JK and was wondering what size spacers to get.
Did you have to align your steering wheel when finished? And it looks like you didn't have to disconnect the drive shaft like in the teraflex vid. Thanks
Awesome, going to be doing this install as well!
22:38 That's what she said.... but seriously Thanks. I used this as a guide to install the same on my 2016 JKU.
When you put the grease ports on did you add grease to them? I bought the same kit and will be putting it on in 2 weeks. Thanks
I wanted to do the same kind of video with my 99 tj leveling kit, but 6 hours in to the first wheel well I realized everything is rusted solid and brought it to a mechanic lol

I used Lucas Red n Tacky #2 in mine.
Great set of videos, thanks for taking the time to do this.
I do have a question for you. It looks like later you put 35's on the jeep. Do you see any signs or hear any rubbing or bottoming out?
Yes, good question! After you installed the spacers, did you have any rubbing with 35 inch tires? Good flexing without rubbing? Thanks.
Well done man! 👌🏻 and thanks this is really going to help me I got a 2015 I’m doing the exact same thing parts arrive this week, did you have any issues with the spacers? I order the same ones as well.
Did you put in the grease fittings on the Teraflex brackets so that you could grease them?
I was thinking about doing the same exact thing to my 2013 2-door jeep to get rid of the rake as well. are those rubber "pucks" added above the coils bad for the jeep at all in the long run? I've heard some things about having to get new coils eventually. Any information is appreciated.

Hi, So what was your experience with the leveling kit? also, did the spacers affected the handling?
The little clip that you see on the lug that you're loc-tighting @18:27. I've heard where people suggest removing them.
Yeah I actually removed all the clips and am pretty sure I mentioned it somewhere. Sometimes I miss crap like that trying to set up for video. Lol.
That's cool...I just got the 2018 JK Willys and I've been looking at this stuff. Wanted to see if you had/hadn't...that's all. ;)
What size tires are you running? Did you NEED the spacers?
Could you post links of the products you purchased?
what size jack and jack stands did you use??
awesome video thanks.
Thanks for your helpful video! I plan on installing 1" Teraflex coil spacers in the front only. Do you think I still need to loosen those upper and lower control arm bolts?
Personally. I wouldn't bother with the CA bolts for just the 1" front spacer.
I am always curios, why you just don't compressed spring by special tool and replace it? Why you need to unscrew all bolts just for replace spring?
Peacemaker because people are lazy. you don't need to do half the stuff in this video if you just use spring compressors. there free to rent from auto zone lol. literally

Did you have to pop out the retainers for the ABS wiring?
Not that I recall
+OVERCLOCK3D - JKU Thanks, some instructions say too. Going to try your method instead of lowering the axle this weekend. To be honest this seems like a better approach.
LIFE IS SO MUCH EASIER WITH AIRTOOLS.....
Im not sure if i have the balls to do this.. i have the same 2017 willy and consider it as "almost" rubicon. I dont need lockers that's why i chose willys. 3.73 and suspension same as rubicon. You said you are no mechanic. Did you rent tools?
Didnt want to get your pretty hands dirty?
Don't forget to re-aim your headlights after leveling the Jeep. Other drivers will thank you.
Covered in part two! :-)
