Authenticity and the Isuzu D-Max

- I hate when a bakkie tries to be something it is not. The Isuzu D-Max is not that kind of bakkie, it is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything else. I love that. It is authentically a bakkie. Lifestyle bakkies have stolen some of that charm away from these workhorses. I love that the D-Max still feels like a bakkie. Pricing for the Isuzu D-Max double cab bakkie range starts at R511 400 and goes up to R835 100 for the V-Cross. I forgot to mention it in my video review, oops!

I just love the sound of an Isuzu 3 litre diesel. It brings back memories of the old bakkies of yesteryear, that noisy unrefined pure diesel sound with a feint turbo whoosh in between gear changes. I like this bakkie ....almost as much as a hilux.
I have a DMax 1.9. It's a nice truck to drive. I guess the 3.0 is even better! Enjoy your bakkie!
I'm in Australia. I test drove the Toyota Hilux, next gen Ford Ranger and the dmax. I bought the dmax. Good economy and awesome interior. The new Ranger is nice but too much screen for me.
Get well soon. Love your reviews 😘
The last of the “tough as nails” bakkie.
Someone’s got a new camera 😜📸 nice vid, Julz! Xx
Love that bakkie feeling you get when you in it. Nice voice by way
New Isuzu is quite a good looking vehicle.
There's a few things that kinda make sense with Isuzu, and I think by now their customers/loyalists know what they're getting. It's first a bakkie, then a lifestyle vehicle. The engine is old, but reliable and proven meaning development and thus aftermarket service is simple (cheaper?) and less can go wrong as they have enough historical information. The technology is there, but just enough to cover the essentials without (as you said) becoming an SUV. And that also means less to go wrong in terms of electronics.
If they keep it simple, but make it excellent, there's no reason for them to fail with the product. Being 3rd in the market is still good, especially as they only sell 2 products. This means Isuzu can focus on the product and their customers.
Old engine? I thought it had the new 4jj3-tcx engine....
Your voice is amazing like this.
And this is coming from a guy who did a radio voiceover for this very same brand last week.
I had the Artic truck , the DPF was a complete nightmare, it would re gen so often that diesel in the engine oil was a real problem, I sold it back to the dealer and lost a packet on it.
Where I come from removing the dpf is an option, legislation is not too strict.
That’s not the Arctic part but Isuzu
That engine is on strike...Is like an employee who's not happy with their salary.
lol too noisy
😂😂😂😂
Goodness gracious!! 😂😂😂
Nice looking bakkie
Its an isuzu and it will last forever
FORGET THE BAKKIE, THIS LADY IS GOOD AT WHAT SHE'S DOING ❤
Why the engine rev sounding so odd 🤔 Thats an AT engine right ?
Awesome
It has a truck engine . Witch is good.
"Rather get an SUV" and then you immediately give an example of when a bakkie is more versatile by going to Builders...
A better reason to get an SUV over a bakkie is that they are better value for money. The price of luxury double cabs are absurd.
Gee, I couldn't live with that grumbly engine.
Very loud
Why dont we test the bakkies like they do in australia instead of putting"soft" reporters. in them just to tell us how soft the seats are
I feel like Isuzu can do so much better by getting more power out of this engine
Nah, as a proper farming rough Bakkie you want it too last a million KM.
They probably can squeeze more power out of it but I think it's been tuned for reliability and longevity. Warranty aside there should be some aftermarket ecu tuning that can be done to up the output
All the gays here wanting a review on her husband now. ✌🏻✌🏻😜🤣,
Love the bakkie 👌 great review.
Yes and they are complaining this "bakkie" is not "soft and refined" enough and they just cant deal with it.
Other reviewers have done real drag races and braking tests, the Dmax/BT-50 3.0 is actually faster and brakes better than the Hilux and the Ranger. Very surprising...
3:02 you forgot you have to push it sweetie.
It’s not refined? That not what you should have said. It’s refined, just not as powerful as the Ranger or Amarok. The engine is old and what you should be saying is that they should look to improve it.
You sound like Nikki glaser
Dmax is the best bang for your buck. Xterrain.
Subscribe... She is legit
Exactly. Even the Hilux has swayed too far from its legendary credentials. A bakkie is a bakkie and you want it to be as such, practical, durable, capable and reliable. Those who want a car in the form of a bakkie should just get an SUV or something elese because a bakkie is just not for them. Men drive bakkies, closet escapees want a Ranger.
This thing is loud
What did you actually achieve? Nothing! Just driving around and running commentary. Wow, excellent job. 😂
It sounds horrible - I could never live with that. I'm getting grumpy - just like that engine :)
Where have the real men gone?
You talk alot and say nothing. If you want to review the DMax review it. It seems like you are auditioning for a low budget sitcom..
If you can’t make it on wonlyfans, youtube will catch you.
