This car comes as a base model with a 2.0 turbo in the USA, Xdrive28i. A much better engine than the Sdrive18i, and starts at about R890 000. We're being "fleeced" in SA because our bank lending rate is also very high.
I mean you have a point it but keep in mind here in South Africa we get Euro spec cars and same goes for the right hand drive regions like UK and Australia but it would be nice to get US spec cars like the 5.7L hemi V8 in the new Grand Cherokee in opposed to the pantastar 3.6L n/a V6 we currently have which at times can feel a little gutless
@@waynelion-cachet35 let me stop you right there 😂.. the only new engine that would make sense in that car is their new Hurricane Twin turbo straight six
@@gamersquadlifestyle except that engine is designed for a bigger frame, the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. The Grand Cherokee engine compartment could not accommodate it.
I love your videos - two things from this one that you highlighted and needs to be emphasised 1. People please look at the excess you are quoted - R10k to R17k. SJOE no wonder there are so many cars on roads with dings, knocks and bumps - people buy these cars and don't have money saved up or available to pay for the excess to fix these fender benders. 2. People please share your secrets of buying cars - Im looking at buying second hand but damn ... cars are expensive.
That depends on your budget and your needs, whether you have a family or not, and whether it's small yet growing or there are tall teenagers. What you should know is that there is a good deal in every segment, as long as you know what you're looking for. 😉
Yes, we need to talk😒. I'm not sure whether to say it looks good or it's just a head turner 🤔, but there's something to the way it looks that I can't describe. Both this and the better-looking X1 are priced a bit higher. Yes, the bult quality is there, technology and comfort, but R880k, it's a 'no' for me. If you're looking for a German SUV, you can get a used AUDI Q5 40TDI for that price, I'm talking about one with 30 000 km on the odometer. For the price of an X1, you can get a Q3, which is bigger and better 😉... I think the X2, Q2, and GLA should be discontinued because of their price tag, which doesn't make sense 🤔... Edit- In fact, no Coupe suv make sense to me because they're not as practical as they should be. These cars are aimed at families, yet they have a sloping roof and a compromised boot😮... Similarly with performance SUVs, they just don't make sense 🤦
I like the look. BMW interiors cannot be beaten for quality and intuitive design. The engine is meh. The price is eye watering. Each to their own I guess. But I’ll pass, for the price I’d rather get the X1 30e which has double the power and half the consumption.
A 3 cylinder, FWD, pleather seated BMW will never be right to me :P What's the highway fuel consumption like? I recently got a '99 323i which is a 2.5L and I was surprised I get about 7L/100km.

@@gamersquadlifestyle there is also a 4xe engine available, which is a hybrid.

@gamersquadlifestyle but, yes, if it did fit it would be the best buy in the SA market

Definitely check out cars.co.za's "How to buy used" section on their YT channel. I just did a vid on buying a used Polo.
Great review! As always. The engine is just at best ok when driving it. It’s fine in the 118 little hatch but bigger cars it doesn’t feel great.

😄 Looks a hybrid of Lexus and Dart Vader...?
Love everything about this except for the rear design and the engine
I liked the old X2 as an alternative to the 3 series sedan but this one looks a bit odd to me.
Couldn’t open the BMW boot.. 😉😂😂

The 18d makes more sense
Most people are buying with BMW select finance
Accessory, boutique kinda car.
Please confirm the auto gearbox is a DCT or torque converter ?
Most probably torque converter
@@MilionareBee it’s not, it’s dual clutch!
@@rojen8571 indeed it is, I doubled checked thanks, 7speed dct
How can't you not know how to open the boot like that, if bmw came up with that feature 😅😅😅
As I said, we all have those days. I can't explain it ;)
How do BMW designers sleep at night knowing they produced things like this?
Front end looks cool but the rear is terribly designed.
❤❤❤❤
Just came here to answer the question on the video...
No this x2 doesn't make sense 😭😭... The last generation made sense
It's just one of those days Jules 😆, you're fine 😆❣.
I think you are
Looks like a Toyota, no really
The new X2 is making less sense than ever
Jo what a ugly car
Won’t sell with that mosquito engine
The X1 and X2 are just... something not right with them...
Lol the price
So ugly its cute😂
