Thanks a lot for this insightful and very descriptive video. Now I'm gonna be able to remove my Santa-Fe battery with ease. Thank you so much. Greetings from India 🇮🇳 ❤😊
Perfect video! I was doubtful of it taking me 10 minutes, but it did. Except for dropping my socket deep into the engine, and having to drive to Home Depot for a magnet! Haha. Tip: Make sure your socket is completely attached to your socket wrench before loosening lower battery bracket!
He said to use a wrench! If you listened, no issues... lol. Just kidding. I'm about to do this and I'll use my socket set with extensions, especially the retaining bolt.
Yea I dropped an extension piece and did the same. Then thought I’d knock it farther back there and it would drop outta the bottom….. didn’t. Had to wedge myself under it and grab it. lol very helpful video. Especially removing the air breather tube.
Excellent video! Seems simple but I was not sure how to remove air intake without damaging. Followed instructions as shown in the video and it saved an expensive trip to repair shop.

Really helpful thank you I was thinking about how I was supposed to remove that part on the battery. But I have a question, aren’t we supposed to remove the positive before the negative ?
Nope. Negative comes off first, then positive comes off. During installation, the positive goes on first and then negative. Just as a show in the video.
That likely means your battery is not charging correctly. I would suggest you get your alternator checked right away or else this battery will drain off very soon.
I'm about to replace my battery too but i kept finding info that i need to reconnect the terminals asap to a separate device or to the new battery right away after disconnecting to avoid memory loss etc. But I can't seem to get well-expained details about that. Also, is it true you need some code to reset in order to start using all the on-board electronics again? How do i get that?
I accidentally broke the bolt using my 10mm wrench. Can you help me find the replacement part and give me some advice on how to remove the remaining piece that’s stuck? For the negative terminal, the bolt came out fine, but it doesn’t seem to fit properly on the new battery’s negative post. I think I may need to loosen it more, but I’ve already loosened the bolt as much as possible. Any ideas on what to try next? what can I use to lubricate it? thank you
I can't say for sure without actually looking at it. This is what I suggest you do. Go to an auto parts store. Take a picture of what your connector looks like. They will be able to get you the solution to your problem. Maybe you need a connector or just a replacement bolt. Again, its common but you need someone to actually see what your problem is and then suggest a solution. In US you have O'Reilly auto parts, advance auto, auto zone, NAPA. In Canada you have NAPA, part source, Canadian tire. Hope this helps.
Sorry to intrude..... I'm a battery tech with a large roadside assistance company. I'm guessing you bought this car used because the 12mm restraining bolt should be a 13mm. I'm guessing that bolt was lost and someone put in a 12. Every battery for the most part only needs a 10 & 13 mm. Unless it's a side post then the terminals require an 8mm instead of a 10mm. Kinda picky though...a great informative video.... Keep it up.
Nice dude lol. I have to replace my battery tonight. Appreciate seeing this so I already know what I will be looking at.
Thanks. Glad you found the video helpful!

@@Fronk11 It’s very easy to replace the battery. If it hadn’t been for my clumsiness, I would have been quite relieved! Good luck!

I’m replacing my battery with a Motorcraft model, do you know which model should go in Hyundai Santa Fe 2017?

Try this out. Your battery Group number is: 124R. It will be displayed on the battery label. Hope this helps.
I’ll try that, thank you 🙏

My battery light is still on is that an issue ?

So I don’t have to use a memory saver in a 2016 Santa Fe? I can simply reprogram my radio, gps, seats etc?
Yup that is correct.
This was great! Thank you!
You're so welcome!
Why they don't put handle for this heavy battery?

Yes the car I made this video on was a friend's car who bought it used. Thank you for chipping and sharing the tip.
Interestingly I just changed the battery on my 2015 Santa Fe, which we bought new, and 12 mm was the size of that restraining bolt!
Ty, presented really well.
Thank you!
