I’m a clean freak as well, but I respect your decision, to not clean, or replace things with new parts like some people wish you would. Watching you put stuff together, cutting, welding, and stitching up panels professionally, is very entertaining and fun to watch.
you are hysterical , gnomes, clean freaks , safety freaks and all your Scottisms makes this so great to watch, besides your attention to detail and rebuilding cars and trucks , thanks for a great video
This type of repair is very interesting. Where other repairers might change the cab, the fact that a good cab is not available locally, means that it makes better sense to repair this cab. Also not having to wait for the state to retag the cab means a great saving in time.
Looking back at all of the brushes with death I have had using my parking brake, I consider myself lucky to have survived. One of my favorite channels for sure, thanks for the safety tips Scott.
I agree, it’s an Emergency Brake. I have had to drive home more than once using it after brake lines have rusted out in the East Coast version of the Land of Rust and Corruption also known as the Peoples Republic of New York.
In the realm of history that was this mechanism's original intent. In the move away from mechanical brakes the new fluid style was not immediately refined to be fully trusted therefore the moniker "emergency brake". It seems the importance of it solidified its name to this day.
I appreciate the older truck rebuilds. Specially ones like this where you start with a totally destroyed truck. I'd like to see you do more of these in the future and on a budget.
you make me smile every time i watch ur stuff sir. People know everything.. or think they do. And as im sure you know.. If it makes you money.. It was worth it.
Scott is a true American with a great can do attitude! That's rare on the internet these days! Also you can't do an E-Brake Slide with a Parking Brake it just can't be done!!!
You very well can idk what you're talking about. Hold the release pulled out or jam it in place in the out position qith something and then you have a poor mans e brake.
I have never smoked pot, but I imagine your videos have the same calming effect on me. I also like that you don't cut corners and disassembling the heat box to get the glass out gets 5 stars from me. Every country have their 'dumb' person that is made jokes of. In South Africa it is Van der Merwe. One day him and two of his buddies were driving through the desert when the truck breaks down. Before walking further, they decide to take something off truck to ease their journey. The one guy takes out the radiator, so he can drink the water when he gets thirsty. The other guy take out a seat so that he has something to sit on when they take a break. Van der Merwe take off a door, so that he can open the window when it gets too hot.
From Pakistan.... it's a really nice build.... believe it or not....I watch all your videos sitting thousands of miles away.... Find them therapeutic... Tells you something about me 😂😂😂
I hope you're not disappointed, I wasn't disappointed at all! This was a great rebuild. Love your attention to detail and the voice over play by play works so well. I'm looking forward to eventually seeing it completed. Thanks again, I learned a lot.
Great editing and edgy commentary makes another great Vendor video. I don't have patience but you don't care so I WILL wait to see how it come out. Great work
Never disappointed here. I get it. I continue to be amazed at having no resistance to going in and completely stripping things out. Dashboard removal, door gutting etc. AND you always seem to have the nuts bolts and clips at hand on reassembly. The sarcasm helps lubricate the show.
Scott, I absolutely love your channel. I wait for your next video every Friday. Your channel and Coffee Walk by Dennis Collins are the best on RUclips!!!
@@truthserum8326 I think his brain is the only system he uses..I've watched his videos for years and even though hes a GM guy lol he can pull that stuff apart and have it back togeather in no time and in the correct way.
Scott , I am amazed how you know how to put al these parts back into their homeplace. Will be a real nice truck once you're done with the magic. Greetz John.
Looking good Scott. I had a Black Silverado, short bed single cab 4X4 that I used to plow with, it was an awesome plow truck! Everything that you said about Black is true but it is also true that on the rare occasion when you can keep it clean, they look awesome! As always thumbs UP! 👍
Normally, I'm with you on all of of your repair builds. But, when you put that piece of raggety firewall insulation back in that truck, you hurt me. I felt like I could smell it through my computer screen, lol! I thought yes, put something there, anything, but that. Though having said that, I am always in awe of how you handle yourself around mechanical part removal and replacement. You make it look simple - you can really tell that you've done this for a long time and that you exude, know-how, professionalism and confidence. Nice job! 🙂
Exactly, body off and not even bothering to clean those parts, much less replace worn out parts that are easily accessed. So meticulous in some ways and then just slap it back together in others. That truck had to have an odor after 20 years of dirt and grime collecting in it.
Love how you dissemble everything n manage to put everything back all in in one piece…The best is your perfect comment to everything….just perfect….you’re the best!
Your dry wit and killer sarcasm are great. I grew-up in Illinois too (born in Normal, IL, raised in Evanston, IL). Also appreciate the clear tips and instructions with every episode you share. Thanks for the education, and the entertainment!
Great job again both on the truck and the video. I would have cleaned it lol. About the hair joke my Dad always said that grass didn't grow on a busy street but I always told him that it didn't grow in concrete ether lol I'll be here for the next part. Live Long & Prosper!
This has been one of the best of the builds. Thee amount of work made this great. The guy doing the work is questionable.. but he Narrator maaan that guy is the best. I do appericiate all the time you take to make great content! I'm an sure glad they are your knuckles busting and not mine...lol. I break mine fixing HVACR. Stay safe and be well Scott. Thank you again!!!!
Great truck to use as a plow truck I’ve used them as plow trucks and always liked them because of the amount of parts you could find for them in a pinch. But now they are getting harder to find in that configuration.
Oh, no! You put that repainted cab back on a dirty frame with dirty old parts? Now I’m going to feel like I have an itch that I can’t reach to scratch!🤣🤣🤣
Cleaning stuff is the easiest task to perform and it is the most obvious to a buyer. You only get one chance for a first impression. But you already know this.
Nice plow truck. The last one I was given to use was a 89 K2500 held together with zipties, rivets, and peices of metal from damaged panels from the body shop. Exhaust was completely made of flexpipe. The only thing that he spent money on was fixing the rotten frame and even that was shoddy. It was just used on the dealer lot so it was only a few hundred yards from the shop.
I like cars and I enjoy your channel. The main reason I watch though is the sarcasm, it is the best! I will wait until you are ready but I would like to see the Mustang again. From Australia. Cheers!
That’s the way Scott, really annoy all those trolls, no cleaning, no new parts and best of all don’t finish the truck, you’ve made my day so many annoyed people on one post, now go get yourself a pizza
Sorry to disappoint you but I don't watch for closure or to necessarily learn things... though I fully admit you have given me tips that I have profited from. I watch for the pleasure of hearing you bait the trolls and maybe throw in a few gnomes making cameos or perhaps even the (lately) ultra rare sightings of Mr Spotty. Even the pizza girl showing says whether or not I have to take a drink. I am jealous though because I never , ever have the opportunity to work on non salt belt vehicles. It's like watching Rainman Ray just unbolt a wheel bearing off a twelve year old vehicle and then he taps it and it falls on the floor.... it's like watching the impossible. I appreciate that.
The nice thing about those GM window regulators is that when that drive wire unravels and can't fit past the plastic wheels anymore, it only happens when the window is down and it looks like it's going to rain. BTW, the sarcasm level was decently high on this video so I wasn't disappointed at all, not that anyone cares. Thanks for the video!
- WOW.. what a surprise. It would have never occurred to me to choose black for a cute little short bed Silverado. For an ancient snow pusher I guess it doesn't matter.
Vehcor talking about his vast network of armchair warriors has honestly been a great addition to this build
What I like about Scott his big ass emporium grand am gmc ford dodge I bet that yards half of Chicago. But anyway his sarcasm is the shit.
His sarcasm is entertaining..😂😂
@@kakeetoalex9924 yes it is that’s why I watch. Oh an he is very good at his craft. I wish we had somebody like him in central Mississippi

I was impressed and happy he did repair the cab. You never see it.
I found the repair very interesting because of the quality of the work. I just haven't seen this level of repair work before.
Looking back at all of the brushes with death I have had using my parking brake, I consider myself lucky to have survived. One of my favorite channels for sure, thanks for the safety tips Scott.
I got my driver's license in 88/89 never once needed to use my emergency brake.... Plus 20 years driving a 18 wheeler.... Never once
Excellent content as usual. Not disappointed at all for sure. Real cars for real people. Hard job. 👍
Nice of you to explain everything. Keep up the good work Scott.
Its easy for others to play monday morning quarterback and critique your rebuilds. Its easy for them to spend your money. Love your videos.
Thats a beautiful truck... good to see your not really rushing through it and doing it right!!! Id be proud to drive that!!
I agree, it’s an Emergency Brake. I have had to drive home more than once using it after brake lines have rusted out in the East Coast version of the Land of Rust and Corruption also known as the Peoples Republic of New York.

I like how you explain why you're doing things in a certain way. And I get a kick out of things like "not" replacing the heater core. Thanks.
I have watched this series of videos and I have to say, I really enjoy your sense of humor.
I appreciate the older truck rebuilds. Specially ones like this where you start with a totally destroyed truck. I'd like to see you do more of these in the future and on a budget.
As always your killing it with sarcasm and putting the cab back together and then mounting on frame.kudos 😎😎😎👍👍👍
As a clean freak, I am not disappointed since you did such a nice job of cleaning the heater box.
you make me smile every time i watch ur stuff sir. People know everything.. or think they do. And as im sure you know.. If it makes you money.. It was worth it.
Totally love the 'Echo Chamber' intro :)
Man I llove your humor and your response to the comments. I laugh with almost every response.
OMG!! "If you're quiet, you can hear it breaking." -Fantastic!!

YOU ARE A VERY GOOD RECONSTRUCTION EXPERT. I SAY THE BEST I HAVE SEEN EVER AND I HAVE BEEN IN BODY WORK FOR 50 YEARS. YES I AM NOT AN EXPERT TOO.
Damn you did disappoint everyone today. I want to see this truck done and you're putting it on the back burner.
I freakin' love the sarcasm! I'm from Chicago, live in the burbs now. Let the haters hate, you do great work brother!
I'm not disappointed, Scott put up a video today!
Statement is the perfect song for your channel!
I hope you're not disappointed, I wasn't disappointed at all! This was a great rebuild. Love your attention to detail and the voice over play by play works so well. I'm looking forward to eventually seeing it completed. Thanks again, I learned a lot.

Always fascinating to watch you put a vehicle back together 👍👍
The GMC grill in your office looks great 👍

That truck is turning out great, excellent work.
I can see the veins in the temples of the clean freaks pulsating 😂😂
I have to give you much respect.Your ability to remember how that stuff comes apart and what screws go where is incredible!
Me too. Perhaps he uses a parts cataloging system of sorts?
@@truthserum8326 I think his brain is the only system he uses..I've watched his videos for years and even though hes a GM guy lol he can pull that stuff apart and have it back togeather in no time and in the correct way.
Any 5 year-old with 30 years of experience can do it.
The sarcasm towards the keyboard warriors and "experts" is top notch. Love it!
I say leave the red hood bolts Red. Gives it character.
As always I more than appreciate all that you do. The color looks great. Thanks Scott for sharing this build.
Scott , I am amazed how you know how to put al these parts back into their homeplace. Will be a real nice truck once you're done with the magic. Greetz John.
I’m not mad Scott, I just watch for the safety tips.
All the safety
Great content as always!
I thought you were channeling the spirit of Henry Ford with the Model T -- "you can have any color you want as long as it's black."
That heater core blew the budget man, you won't make any money on it now.
You are so hilarious…I love your videos and your work…Thanks
Sarcasm was a 15 out of 10 on this video. Love it!
You didn’t disappoint me as you were as snarky, sarcastic and funny as usual. Watching you from Istanbul, Türkiye.

I, for one, like the aesthetic look of the dirty rusty parts being attached to the pristine painted cab.
How can you cave in to peer pressure when you have no peers? You are one of a kind. (You can take that however you want;)
Best channel ever
Always fun to watch Scott.
Not disappointed at all. I guessed almost right. It's black, and you intended to keep it. Fabulous work
Cleaning stuff is the easiest task to perform and it is the most obvious to a buyer. You only get one chance for a first impression. But you already know this.
I made an extra appointment with my therapist over the under hood firewall insulation.😆
I was happy my Silver guess was wrong. Black Regular Cab Shortbed 4x4 is my favorite truck.
It is worth a lot, that is a very desirable truck and would love one for my cabin.

Love your work.
Love to own that truck when done, short bed, 2wd or 4wd are like hens teeth today!
The way you acknowledge the different types of critics is hilarious lol keep up the good work 👍
The sarcasm is to die for , good job man !!!
Keep up with the good content 👍
The old hold the hood with the head trick, I’ve done it many times
Ha!! I agree with most of what you're doing,...EXCEPT...I would take my chances with the original heater core over the "overseas" unit....😁
Its a tough call with parts quality these days to do a “while you are in there”
I think I enjoy your trolling the trolls as much as I enjoy your repair videos!
