"I didn't sell the airbag because I didn't trust it after it had been sitting out in the weather"
You are the most honorable and best rebuilder/parts seller I know of, I wish more would be like you.
Might want to destroy it so that someone less scrupulous doesn’t use it.
Indeed, he cares 👍
Awesome work ethic.
It's actually encouraging to see someone try to recycle as much of a vehicle as possible (within reason for labor and cost). I know our local pull n save lots do fantastic business because of it (plus it's just fun to wander the salvage yard).
Re-Use! It's even better than recycle.
12 years ago I bought a 2005 Altima SE from a tow yard that had also slid backward into...well either a large rock or a fire hydrant, for $225. I then began rebuilding 3rd generation Altimas for the exact same reason. Ended up going through probably 30 parts cars and rebuilt over 100 of them. Even to this day I still will occasionally nab one from the south and build it cause they are easy to work on now, and I have an entire panel van worth of parts.. I have no feelings either way for them, other than that first tow yard buy taught me how to take one apart and judge the damage to pretty much any one of them by a few pictures. I wonder how many other people started fixing a specific gen of make and model the same way? Nice vid as always!
Very cool story thanks for sharing, I always wonder the genesis of those people who build/drive a bunch of the same car
How do you get into buying a vehicle from a tow yard?
Very sensible question @@chris103193
Bought a flood 2018 Jeep Wrangler last year, I rebuilt one with rear collision and right now I’m building one with front end damage. That is the way to do it.
That proves that what is junk for someone is gold for someone else. 👍
One man’s junk in another man’s treasure. Really like Everyman builds.
The thing is, you probably get another $100-$300 out of what you take to the metal scrapper
It sure would be nice to have a lot more honest people that takes pride in their work like you. There’s not too many great people like you left in your line of work anymore. Keep it up!!
Now that's what I call RECYCLING! Very cool!
Scott! Hello, you're a smart man! Making money is what it is all about.
I can't believe that you got it so cheap. Like you said it made you a lot of money.
Most likely it may have cost more to keep it. That is how some cars get totaled out because if time is involved to pay rental costs or other items it is cost effective to unload it to free up space for making money or insurance to pay out more than it's worth.
Just a smart way of doing business with buying a totaled car that is a popular model that you know you will see down the road in your shop again. Love your work and your videos!
Wow, you picked that one clean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used to do VW Bugs back in the day, Picked them clean, and horded all the parts. When My mother moved out of her house, the buyers said they were tearing down the garage, so we could leave anything we didn't want in there. That was one huge pile I left in that garage !!!!
now it makes sense as to why you like rebuilding these in particular
Pretty cool to see how the sausage is made - thanks for revealing some of the secrets of Scott’s (insert current project here Emporium)
Although I am a lifetime mechanic , I learned early on in life, don't buy stuff to do up that you like, look around and see the shortage that the car market is hungry for , if I still had all the vw combis that I fixed or recycled I would be a millionaire now, but I used to do them up and convert to vw campervan style for a 100% profit after cost, one thing I did get stung on was a 8 month old Subaru brumby that had been rolled, no new parts or used ones available for 18 months at 70 years. Old I still do up cars, I really enjoy your videos as I enjoy the never stop learning thing, I believe that attitude stops people dying young from boredom
Pretty smart way to rebuild cars. Spend some time taking the parts off but save a bundle on getting them from someone else.
Be careful when you say "can't complain about that." Trolls can and DO. But hey, watching you shut down trolls is half the entertainment of your channel. Keep up the great work!
You have the gift Scott!
I like watching you, rebuild these things to give me a good working knowledge
So wait a minute… You buy parts cars… Use the parts to build other cars at a discount… Sell parts off of it to recoup your investment… And then scrap the leftovers when you’re done? I ought to try that. Nice short sweet vid!!
Strip the plastic fasteners, body plugs, clips ect... all them little extras help!
Thanks, Scott! You're a great videographer on top of your skills as a rebuilder. I like your narration, funny smartass style, it shows great confidence. No one else is surrounded by gnomes that eat pizza.
Considering the utopian govt cafe standards and the push for more coal-fired electric cars, remanufactured cars might be the only answer for future individual transport. Keep up the great work! Here's hoping that you make more money than you can possibly spend.
Sir. That's what a SMART BUSINESS MAN DOES. Ur there to make a living not to live on bean's. Love ur videos
Scott, great video! Hey, I was wondering how you decide which models to rebuild. Is it purely what is available at the time, or does some research go into it?
That frame looks like the tattered, fattyfloating walrus carcass thats been torn apart by sharks and is now being peaked apart by the sea brim. +1 Like
Forget "IN the pile" it now has become "THE PILE"..Great job yet once again. Cannot beat free education for all those keyboard warriors. I still think it could hold alot of haters tears too..still looks floatable. Stay safe and be well Scott!
This was extremely satisfying to watch Scott. Maybe it is your honesty and kindness. Best always.
I haven't heard many people asking about the Mustang lately, so I won't either as I don't want to delay it any longer. I just can't wait to see the sick back bumper get some stress testing. #mustang #crowds
Scott's Lexus Emporium "Clean up on Isle 5"
Great content. Very fitting outro music 5:29 😂
You know when to get rid of it when it looks like what’s left over of your Thanksgiving turkey after a few days....
Great Vid again, Scott!
Don't forget to drain that windshield washer reservoir, there's got to be like $5 worth of washer fluid in there.
Scott. please keep up all the Hard Work and Great Content.
what a wonderful business model you have developed for your self.
around here, we used to have "bargain salvage yards"; they made most
of their money off of the $25.-100.00 impound cars they bought.
several of them became millionaires with that simple business model.
alas, that time is long gone.
you do very nice work. congratulations on your successes.
very best to you and yours...walt+mrs.
Looks like the Sam's rotisserie chicken after my wife picks all the meat off of it. Times are tough and great to save every penny you can. Keep up the good work!
and it still has washer fluid in it! score!
Good idea to add in your own time with the parts removal... A very valuable commodity...
Honestly Scott, I think you are a genius! Well done on creating such a successful business over the years.
Good. This will leave more space for your Lamborghini collection.
Great video, love the background on how you that magic voodoo, you do so well. :)
Mr Spot and Mr Scott are wicked smart!
Very nice,I won’t pick on you anymore for Lexus’s.Lol good video 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Scott's Tis the Season to be giving XD
Well done. Parts cars are definitely worth their weight! Not to mention scrap prices these days!!!
Great video always enjoy business videos
Fantastic content! Thanks for a behind the scenes look at what and how you do what you do.
even if you did have to pay 1000 for parts, just pass it down the the buyer lmao..
i like your videos. its neat to see a car all torn apart.
Your amazing Scoot, the time and energy used to do what you do is a reminder of so great people. Good job!!
Reminds me of a Turkey carcass after thanksgiving
That was pretty good. Thank you. Something interesting. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
Very cool video. Its very interesting to learn these things.
Awesome show my friend.
I need to send this vid to my wife so she can get a better understanding of why I have four Jeep XJ's in various levels of tear down in my back yard.. Maybe if someone else explains it to her she will understand.. lol
Good luck… you’ll need it!
Great synonym for recycle
Excellent way to recycle if you have a place to keep it.
I'm glad you were able to make it all work, all the best to you and your loved ones
While replacing the trailer connector with one from a wrecking yard, as I was changing the wires over, I could hear your voice saying "somebody's been here before" as I came across some questionable splices on the replacement..
A very good episode 👌 cleared up a lot!
Awesome video! Thanks for the insight!
I do the same thing for my daily drivers. few years ago I bought a van then another parts van and made one good van out of the two of them.
I really wish I lived closer to where you live because I would ask you if I could work with you and learn from you. I have many years in the automotive recycler buisness as a puller and I took great pride in disassembling cars without breaking a single thing. When I was done you could put it back together if you wanted to. I guess one bad thing to that is when the boss discovered I could pull wire harnesses without damaging them, I got all of those pull tickets. As you know some GM cars are terrible and the entire car is one big harness that does not seperate at the firewall. I really enjoy your videos and I am glad I found your channel.
That tailight looks OK, don't be wasteful!
Makes sense to me,thanks for Keeping us in the loop🤗😎🤗😎
I do the same thing. I once owned 5 Terrains at once, just kept buying projects to fit the parts car. I'm now doing 18+ Enclaves, currently own 3 but looking for a fourth 😁
I had a feeling this is what you're doing. Too bad there's no money in fixing cars! Lol
Don’t cut it up yet!!I gotta have that carpet love the nature look it has
Scott: you also forgot about the center console that you're giving to pizza girl for christmas.
PG: what the hell is this?
Scott: it's a lexus jewelry box
PG: it looks like a console out of a lexus
Scott: no really, lexus makes jewelry boxes now!
PG:
I wish that you had a Pontiac 6000 emporium for me to shop!
If you've got the room, this is a great idea!
Good use of the damaged Scott.
Love your channel.watch it all the time. I could really use your help on a welding job I need. I wish you were in my area . I was thinking of driving to you but that would be crazy. I have a 2003 trailblazer with almost 320k original everything. Engine is bullet proof so far. The rear left trailer arm with the attached bolt became loose due to rust. It's not serving a purpose at the moment, only rattling as a drive. It can be fixed but the spacing is tight . One welder wants 1,000 dollars. I'm still shopping around.
I wish you would build some 2018 and upper Camrys . Great job
Already did the thumbs up before viewing. It’s a no brainer.
Like they say about hog production, use everything but the squeal! You just need the property to store your parts, the knowledge of which parts cars make sense, and the patience to get the last dollar out of them. And the impossible part of 2022, be willing to work hard.
Hey Scott, was that a bottle of hater's tears in the trunk? Hope you're not scrapping that. They are priceless! Thanks for the video!
Awesome Scott
Good way to combat the throw away society we have, people complain about how much stuff is all throw away yet continue to not bother to fix it because its to much work.
Really great video, Scott!
The best part of it is most of it gets recycled. Saves you a lot of money and time. It puts some cash in your pocket.
i’ve done this too scott. saves so much money!
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing!
I'm thinking you need to get yourself a reverse osmosis machine so you can recycle those haters tears.
🚗🚗🚗
Awesome video as always.
I loved the is250 build series. And everything else Lexus.
you are using your skills the right way👍
u have ur own mini junkyard and u have skills.
Something tells me Scott's GM Emporium is still going strong...
That is just good business.
Great video. So what's next in "Scott's Emporium of Broken Toys"?
I agree it's definitely worth wild anytime you can get a parts vehicle, for a good price.
But in your case why do you have to pay for storage??
You have your shop and Scott's Lexus Emporium, to store stuff at.
Awesome, definitely a great role model.
Great video!
Would love to see your yard full of your parts cars.
Thank you sir I was wonderful
Wassup another great video
Can't believe the front bumper support was still on there lol
I was wondering where Scott’s Lexus emporium was located. 😂
Now just to see Scott's GM Emporium
Cool video…Thanks
I don’t think I’ve thought of a question worth asking you, well not a good one anyway. The price of fuel in the UK is still dropping thank goodness 👍🏻🏴
Scott, you are a very smart and wise man, even when you do not wear your "bitch mittens".
